Dwight tries to get noticed by corporate while suffering from appendicitis. Gets sent to the hospital to get his appendix removed, and immediately returns to give a presentation to Nellie, who interviewed for Michael Scott’s position last year. As I understand it, Jo’s still with Sabre as Chairwoman of the Board and hired her for the task going retail.
No Robert California in this episode, which was disappointing.
It seems that Dwight and Todd Packer are being set up to compete for the #2 spot behind Nellie.
Scenes from the Scranton branch were limited, as Andy finds himself doing Erin’s job.
I think Ryan has the best lines in this episode, being greeted by Erin waking up, and taking pride in diagnosing Dwight’s problem; “Who called it? Nothing but net”.
Jim and Dwight trying to get Packer fired; “You see, this cat’s got nine lives… and a nine inch-”
Nellie; not being “a good fit”
Anyone know who “Philip” was that Dwight was sending a memo to while being taken away on the stretcher? The rightful heir to Shrute Farms… who must kill Mose before he kills him?
Loved;
Dwight: “What is the antidote?”
Jim: “True Love’s Kiss”
“Every store could have a different theme, like a beach theme, a jungle theme, a winter theme…”
“I hate winter.”
“It doesn’t have to be winter, that was just an example.”
“No. It has to be winter and I reject it.”
I also like Creed’s comment that he was able to write 12 plays since the office was so quiet.
I thought this was a fantastic opening. The best of the season, for sure. I started laughing with Jim’s early morning prank and it kept going from there. I didn’t love Dwight working with all the pain, but there was enough funny to make up for it.
I assumed Phillip was the name of Angela’s baby.
I liked Nellie goading Ryan about his height.
I loved Jim’s idolatry of Stanley.
Erin’s falling asleep while reading the tag was funny.
Great episode.
They said in the Pretzel Day episode that they do that every year. So, Erin would have been there for one, we just didn’t see the episode about it.
I just saw this episode (hilarious) but I was wondering about this as well, and I am disappointed to see that no one responded. I actually did not think it sounded familiar, so I was wondering if it was just a non sequitur, or a reference I didn’t catch.
