I am more than willing to be shown that this is my blinders and selective perception at work, but it seems to me that there are numerous examples of Liberal posters distancing themselves from others that share their views (Reeder and Scott Plain come immediately to mind) but I can not for the life of me think of a case where a conservative poster has been taken to task by one of his own. Thoughts?

There were a few conservatives taking Thin Lizzy to task in his pit thread this week.

I’m not a GD regular, so maybe I’ve missed it, but Mr. Moto has never struck me as particularly annoying or dishonest. Could be that I haven’t looked hard enough. I’m certainly not going to take rjung’s word for it, of course, because I can think of damned few posters with less credibility than him. Except scott_plaid, of course, about whom the phrase, “Dude, shut the fuck up,” simply cannot be said enough.

That is worth talking about as well. Now that we are past the last election, isn’t it really a small handful of dedicated hacks doing this? That is my impression, though I suppose that I may have gotten better at ignoring crap.

Yeah, it’s not as bad as just before and immediately after the election, that’s for sure. Maybe “filled with” is too strong. How about “with no lack of…”?

Thin Lizzy hasn’t been much on my radar, so I will look into that. Also, I went with “shut your pie hole”, but yeah.

In case I have any credibility, I urge you to look at the Air America thread in the OP. It’s pretty ridiculous. The funeral thread is almost as bad.

Mr Moto does generally strut with the assumption that Democrats are OK and Republicans are not. But, he almost always has some facts to back up his opinions, available on the nightly news.

Mojo has facts to back up his claims? That is a first. Then again, maybe rjung agrees with me, so I see him as being correct. I really don’t know.

I’m not sure that political progress will be made in America until factions of both major parties decide that they will no longer tolerate corruption — not just in their opponents’ camp, but in their own.

The thing is, if you actually read the linked thread, you find Mr. Moto posting a story about a guy who used to run Air America doing something hinky with a loan from another organization. Turns out it was over a year ago, the guy was fired, Air America is making restitution and nobody is disagreeing that the guy (Cohen) was wrong and should be punished in whatever way is appropriate.

How is that an example of the left tolerating corruption! Pray tell, melon farmer.

It’s a bit like the Sandy Berger discussions. You can agree all you like that Sandy Berger was in the wrong, but somehow it’s not enough, and folks like Liberal will still accuse you of overlooking wrong-doing.

Actually, I agreed early in the thread that I should be more clear, and that I needed to work on my grammar. Problem is, I continued to defend past statements. People didn’t like that. Big deal. Since then, I have listened a lot more in GD and stated using capital letters in words like “Bush”, and "Christ. Besides which, calling it a mercy killing is hardly accurate. Sure, you closed down the thread, but ** I was suffering no real ill effects**.

You suffered no ill effects because you’re too fucking stupid to realize that you’re too fucking stupid to post on a message board. The problems with grammar, punctuation, capitalization, etc. are all just relatively minor annoyances brought about by your abject stupidity. Your abysmal comprehension and utter lack of intelligence caused the speculation that you might be mentally handicapped.

The fact that you still don’t get it just shows that you are indeed too fucking stupid to ever get it.

Scott Plaid: Look, friend, I am not sure if you have noticed or not but you tend to have this ability to completely derail any conversation that may be happening around you. My suggestion is that you shut your pie hole and read for a while. Once you have that down, perhaps you should contact a Mod and see about changing your name and wiping out your posting history. I’ve always thought of Moto as one of the better conservative posters on the board, though I did find the thread about Air America to be pretty lame…not worth even bothering to put in 2 cents worth. To me its practically the definition of irony though to have rjung start a pit thread about ANYONE on this subject, but thats just me. Pot/kettle kind of moment.

I haven’t paid attention to the Plamegate threads around here, but it was certainly a GOP talking point for a couple days that Rove had sought only to prevent a misguided journalist from making a terrible, terrible mistake in reporting Wilson’s claim that he was sent to Niger by Dick Cheney. Which, of course, Wilson never claimed, but that’s entirely beside the point.

The funniest 'winger speculation I’ve heard on the whole affair was an acquaintance who tried to convince me that the source Judith Miller was going to jail for protecting was . . . wait for it . . . Joe Wilson.
As for the OP, Moto is clearly a well-oiled, fully functioning Bush-bot. The Internet is crawling with them, in case you haven’t noticed. No need to get your undies knotted up over it.
