Apelet! Come out and play!
It’s the last day of school!
We’ve got the outline of the deck square and nailed together. Unfortunately, it’s not square with the other deck, but I’m not sweating that - we’re not digging up 3 of the 4 supports. So it’ll be out a bit.
Pics to follow.
Next step is to put down plastic and gravel before we install the joists. Good times… It’s already 77° on the way to 90°. Ugh.
That reminds me, I want to send the Sah-son a link to School’s Out.
Why is the dog(gio) howling? Full moon was Sat night so I’m thinking Blackhawks win.
First night with the swim coach last night, my shoulders HATE her today.
it’s either a hockey victory or the start of vacation
No baby yet. Still at home. I kept the kidlets home with me from daycare today just incase. Damn contractions have calmed down. I am pissed. I’ve walked about 4 miles the last two days trying to coax her out. I have an induction scheduled for Wednesday. I’m hoping she comes before then.
Count appropriate/inappropriate appendages crossed re the job lead.
Apelet the world is ready to meet you!
Some days I know I’m doin’ the right kind of irk. Just got off the phone with a guy who has been a program participant for the past two years and doin’ a super job at his host agency. So good in fact he just got offered a job there. He’s mid 70s and still wanted/needed to work but as we all know a lot of employers are reluctant to higher older employees. Anywho, he called me to tell me about the job offer and he was in tears he was so happy. The thing that got me is he said this happened because I had enough faith in him to give him a chance.
It’s a little dusty up in my orifice right now.
aawww {{Swampy}}
You ol’ meanie…
I have some of those little butter cookies with the hole in the middle. I’ve been stickin’ 'em on my finger and eating around the cookie. Sometimes ya just gotta eat your cookies like a five year old.
**swampy **- it’s nice to know you’re so in touch with your inner child. Kinda makes up for your inner geezer!
We just bought 1240# of gravel to go under the deck. It cost a whopping $26.29!! If we’d bought it by the bag, it would have been LOTS more! Yay for our trailer!
My child is inner. My geezer, however, is definitely an outie.
Before I bought my trailer (how did I ever live without it!) I had a load of gravel delivered so I could put gravel around the parts of the privacy fence that bordered the pool and it was cheaper by the load. However, I had a looooooot more gravel than I needed. Thus, three of my neighbors have nice little gravel beds in their yahds as well. I’m not selfish, I’ll share my leftover gravel. BTW, that was ten years ago and the gravel along with the plants still look good.
We’re putting plastic covered with gravel under the deck to keep stuff from growing down there. It’ll be great!!! Well, except for the part where we have to move all the gravel from the trailer to the ground - 10’ X 16’ X 3" or so. Good times…

Helps to have small fingers!
Could be a niche market for Salerno. Butter cookies for adult fingers.
This may be a long wait. I’m one of four people with a 1:30 appointment with Spineydoc. I smell a scheduling screwup.
I’m showered and clad in clean clothes. It’s refreshing, not only to get un-sweaty, but to get the insect repellent off my skin. I’m trying to decide what to do for supper - I’m thinking twice-baked N.O.T.s for sure. Maybe with a side of fries? Actually, I think fish might be nice. hmmmmm…
I ran the dishwasher - we were out of spoons and almost out of bowls and glasses. I guess that’ll be our seasonal dishes - bowls, spoons and glasses. Or paper towels for sammiches - no sense in dirtying a dish for that.
is it Firday yet?
Sometimes?
