Howdy All. We had lots of rain today and expect more for the rest of the week. Rainy Season is here.
Taters. I am DOD but am exempted from the furlough because I am paid with non appropriated funds. Now does that make any sense at all? Not to me. I would gladly swap places for someone like the single mom who cried. I hate our system.
I am on the Puny List. Damn sinuses again. Saw the Doc for cortisone shot, antibiotics and cough meds. Hurry up meds. I’m short of staff and cannot be out. I did take today off so I could see the Dr but felt guilty leaving my one clerk all alone.
I don’t think I have ever seen a 48 pack of TP but will check.
Hubby is off in the early AM to GA to go to his granddaughters HS graduation. One of my great nieces just graduated Summa Cum Laude with a GPA of 4.25 on a 4.0 scale. She is UGA bound in the fall to study cellular biology. Smart kid.

April! Hahaha, sadly I am not in charge of ordering supplies around here, but I love your moxie.
Good evening everyone. I’m working midnight to noons, but I came down a little early so my coworker who works the opposite shift could get some extra sleep. He barely got any sleep because of the traveling we had to do so he was dog tired.
There won’t be much work for us to do out here for the next 4 weeks but there will be some here and there 
I’m going to try my best to not only not gain any weight out here, but actually try to lose some. I brought some protein shake powder, fiber powder, and a nifty little “Blender bottle” that has a weird wire ball that you can shake with the stuff to mix it all up nicely. It worked well today. Hopefully this helps me avoid eating the junk food they serve at midnight during “midrats.” It’s gonna be tough for a few weeks but if I can kick the habit of just eating stuff every time I feel hungry, I should manage to lose a bit of the flab I’ve been building up.
I’m also going to be using the work out room every day or close to every day if I can

So the garage man called yesterday to say that the motor is fixed, but of course they managed to find some other stuff to do. I now have a new set of front suspension springs and mountings, three new wiper blades, one new tyre and in the next couple of months there will be new brake pads as well. I asked him to leave the brakes until next time, it’s due for a full service in July and they will easily last until then. I got home early from irk, but £350 lighter.
On the plus side, it was pub night yesterday and we were joined by a couple of extra friends who don’t show up very often. The pub only had one guest beer on tap, the other had already sold out by midweek so we had to settle for 5.8% strength Celt Brewery’s “Cat Scratched” beer. Such hardship, no?
Today is the last of the departmental exams at work so I am currently keeping an eye on that one, it will be over in an hour and then I’ll be looking for something exciting to do next as the dept want me to stay on but haven’t specified what they want me to tackle next. Fun times!
Today is also payday for me, I am solvent again, my debts are paid and I can afford to feed me and the cats for another month.
Apes - any baby news yet? Today’s student is pregnant, she has 6 weeks to go and is taking her exam in a room alone so that she can get up and walk around as she pleases. See? We’re good to our students!

How does being a NAF employee compare with a GS or WG employee? I mean in terms of building time to retirement, ability to switch to GS or WG, bennies, and suchlike? I was under the impression it was pretty much like a temp job in that there was a paycheck, but not much else. Or maybe I’m thinking of something else - when the mind starts to go, you know… 
Good morning! I’m up and I’ve tended to the critters and breakfasted - PB & fresh strawberry preserves on toast - yum! I’m caffeinating and my sweetie is sleeping. When he gets up, we’re going to work on the deck some more, to do as much as we can before the heat becomes oppressive. Today is supposed to be hotter than yesterday - ugh. I’ve got to move a bunch of plants - for now, they’re going into pots, and I hope I can keep them alive. We shall see…

Some years back, Virginia had a design that was dark blue numbers over a field of colorful autumn leaves, but the contrast between the background and the characters made it virtually unreadable on a moving car, so they replaced it with one that had a white background framed by autumn leaves. I can’t find a photo of the stoopit one.
Frankly, with all the specialty and commemorative plates, it’s a wonder any law enforcement can keep track of what’s a real plate and what’s not. There are probably more than a few bogus plates out there…
