I made some progress on my story today. I had to write a note to myself across the top: EXTREMELY ROUGH DRAFT–POLISH IT LATER JUST WRITE IT DAMMIT because I caught myself trying to write and polish at the same time. One must be done before the other.
For those of you who read my LJ, this is the fanfiction I’m ashamed of writing. I’m actually more ashamed that it’s a sappy love story than that it’s fanfiction. I need to have a good long conversation with myself about literary honesty.
Skimmed thread, rosie’s sig to all, especially Apes.
Did you know that when one is getting a mortgage one is not allowed to use cash?

Don’t they know better than to mass with a pregnant women?
I have a friend who swears it is perfectly legal for pregnant women to stab people who mess with them.
I’m sure everything will work itself out.
So I actually got to go home at 5 O’clock. it is weird being home on a Friday. Dinner was Bacon Parmesan tilapia, lemon thyme* rice, and asparagus sauteed with garlic and sun dried tomatoes. I cook, I clean, and yet women don’t throw themselves at me.:dubious:
{{{{{**Apes[/]}}}}} hope HR fixes it for you.
swampy, if I was that guy, I’d give up and live in a Dumpster. Sounds less painful.
sari, what do the want, a shrubbery?
*I started singing “Time is on my side” by the Stones, and Gordie gave me the “Stop, just stop” look.
If I deposit the money then they want to know where it came from.
When I bought the truck they had no problem with me handing them $8000 in cash.
The mortgage people seem to have a problem with it.
I do better saving cash, it it’s in the bank it’s too easy to use my debit card.
It it’s locked up in a box it’s harder to get to and I can’t spend it.
Methinks the Karma farie visited here this week. The idiots upstairs who rent seem to think getting their cars inspected is something they do not have to do. His car has a blue sticker, circa 2011. Her SUV had a orange sticker, 2012. Green has come and gone, and the will-expire-in-2014 Red stickers are now in vogue. I walk out today, and wonder of wonders, she has a red sticker. Of course, it also has a nice big R in the middle of it. Since I can’t see her lowereing herself to doing the right thing, I figure she was stopped, handed a $85 ticket, which is a moving violation here in Taxachusetts, which means her insurance is going up for the next 7 years. Oh, and now she has to shell out for fixing the car.
Would it be unneighborly of me to hope that the cadylitic converter needs to be replaced?
Make sure you keep that bass clarinet on a leash… wouldn’t want it to run off
Hugs to April… hope the insurance thing gets worked out right quick.
sahirrnee, tell them, “Shut up and take my money!”
dogbuttler… how *you *doin’? That dinner sounds amazing. (sorry I’m not a woman)
Fairychatmom, I hope the knitting the night away thing includes some sleeping as well.
swampybear, before I headed back out to the boat I was over at my friend’s house. He was going to do some BBQ chicken on his grill, but since I have extensive experience growing up with my dad grilling everything for every meal, he let me do it. Everyone was so impressed. Although chicken is really hard to screw up. Basically what I’m saying is… if I come visit you can I play with your grill?
Doggio, it’s a long way to throw myself and there’s a lot of water in the way…
Happy Caturday, mumpers! It is lovely and sunny over here for a change, I think that means there will be garden destruction later. Or maybe tomorrow, who knows? I have errands in town later and I need to collect my new specs from the opticians, there’s house-cleaning and ironing to do as well. If I get that sorted out today, I could spend plenty of time in the garden tomorrow cutting back all the brambles. Decisions, decisions.
How do I train Higgs to sleep past 5:30??? Idiot dog. She’s been tended to, as has the cat box and my breakfast (separately and with hand-washing in between.) **FCD **is still abed - I’m hoping he gets his regular sleeping in order so he’ll quit napping during the day. We shall see.
**doggio **- do you have any scars? I hear that chick dig scars… Since I’m married and don’t much like hockey anyway, I won’t be throwing myself at you, scars or no. Sorry…
$2.99 - my routine is to knit till there’s more cussing than knitting (I get a bit upset when I make mistakes… ) then I go to bed. Sometimes that happens as early as 8:30, last night it was nearly 11. You can do that when you’re retired. Plus last night we were watching Erik the Viking on Netflix and we kept hoping it’d get better, but it never did, so we gave up and went to bed.
Today, more deck work will ensue. I’ll be painting the deck boards, **FCD **will do some trenching, we’ll put down plastic and gravel, then probably collapse in exhaustion. He’s doing a bike ride tomorrow - somewhere in VA, I think, since Rappahannock is in the ride title. So while he’s gone, I’ll do laundry and enjoy some solitude.
Tomorrow night, a cold front is supposed to come thru and drop our temps about 10° to a more normal range. Here’s hoping… For now, I’m fed, caffeinating, and surfing till my sweetie drags his carcass out of bed.
