Oh, doggio, I’d have thrown myself at you a long time ago if you didn’t live so far away…
My favorite show of the year is today. I’m so hoping that it doesn’t rain. Should be a great time.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 70 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 92 for the day. Good pool weather! We have an alleged chance of rain tomorrow and Monday. We could use some of that so let’s hope.
$2.99 it’s possible I’d let you near the grill. If you asked to cook in my kitchen that might be a different thing. Don’t know if you’ve ever watched Big Bang Theory but OYKW and others swear I do that Sheldon twitch when other people are in my kitchen. I have been known to let others use my stove and oven but I am weird about who that might be. I have, however, gotten better about the grill. Yeah, I’m weird.
StickyBuns have a great show!
Alien what does the big R mean? Is it kinda like a big ol’ A for vehicles?
I need to get in gear and get the smoker goin’. Also I need to make up baked beans, purtify and go over to the church house for ice. Also, rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Thus, in gear I get.
Happy Sattidy Y’all!
HappySaturday!
It’s 71 degrees outside with a projected high of 90.
If Sash-kid wants to go shopping today he’d better get up early. Yesterday he didn’t get up until 2pm.
He made dinner last night. Pizza of course but he makes a good pizza. We buy the kits and he knows how to fix them up. I’d rather eat the ones he makes than delivery.
I have a stuffy nose and a sore throat.
I’ve only been up for an hour and already I want a nap.
I have to figure out what I am doing today.
I have a feeling it won’t be much.
Swampy, the R of doom means that something has not passed the state-mandated extortion, emmm, inspection. She has 30 days to pay off, no, not quite the right term, fix the problem, or the nice officer can call the tow truck and remove the offending car from the road. Causes of failure can range from a burned out light bulb, to a loose gas cap, to having left parts for the last 16 miles on the road. Alas, being a self-important twit is not on the list.
Went to the eye docs yesterday. She put dye in my eyes to mesure the inter-occular pressure. I now have orange eye snot. Cool.
I was goin’ to get ice at the church house but the Homerun (local convenience sto’) two miles from da cave has a biiiiiiiiig sign advertisin’ 2 bags o’ ice for eighty nine cents. I stopped there instead and got four bags of ice. The way I figure I’d burn that much in gas makin’ the 26 mile roundtrip to the church. Plus, no luggin’ two big coolers full of ice on and off twuck, so win-win!
Chikin is smokin’ away and smellin’ gooooooooood! Baked beans are made up. Corn sallit and cuke sallit (decided to make some more since it’s so good) are all made up.
I’ve been a bzzy bear!
I’m sorry I’ve been gone for two weeks. I’m sure I missed all sorts of things, so hugs and lols and sad faces and whatever is necessary to cover all the things I’ve missed on here.
My camping trip went very well, had a very good time although we got rained on on packing up day.
And I am currently between jobs. I was laid off yesterday. Woo-hoo! Summer vacation! I’m thinking of going to New Mexico for a couple of days for some R&R and refocusing.
Mornin’, all -
Welp - the wife and kiddos have left the building for a four day trip to visit to the grandparents, so I’m batchin’ it. Just me and the doggies, plus no irk for four days. Bonus!
I thus join sari in blessed near-solitude. I truly lurves my family, but absence is a wonderful thing sometimes. No kiddies hogging the food, the teevee, the games, the bathroom…
I can eat whatever I want, drink whatever I want, watch whatever I want and play with whatever I want, for as long as I want!
I is excited!
Happy weekend everyone! I get to enjoy this one, and even the weather seems to be cooperatin’, sort of. Have a cold’un for me, and I shall return the favor…
As part of today’s errands, I have been buying birthday gifts for a couple of friends. One of them loves Haribo so she will get a big bag of Starmix, the other likes a particular brand of chocolate. So I went to the choccie shop (Filbert will know it, it’s Thorntons) to look for a little bag of her preferred chocs. They were doing small bags on offer, two for £5, so she will get Viennese Truffles and I will be having a bonus bag of turkish delight. Well, it would be rude not to…
I’m home, meat for dinner is marinading in spices, I have done half an hour on the Wii and now I’m off for a well-deserved soak in the bath. Later I will be laying on the sofa, probably under a pile of cat.
Sangfroid don’t forget to run nekkid!
I told Sah-kid we need to shop yesterday. But even I was not prepared for today’s excursion.
I told him NEVER EVER AGAIN on a Saturday.
The Dollar Store is a small store. I don’t know brand of the Dollar Store it is, but it is a small store, only two cashiers, hardly any shopping carts, with narrow aisles and usually not too crowded.
Until today.
Normally I feel badly because we will fill a shopping cart and most people in there are buying only a few things. Sah-son and I almost always tell them to go ahead of us, because we are polite that way.
Not today though.
The AC wasn’t working, and it was packed and we weren’t the only ones with a cart load.
I’m standing there with sweat pouring off me and feeling sicker and sicker the whole time.
The woman in front of me???
I don’t know if welfare checks and food stamps still come out on the first but OMG!
She had two full carts and two small kids and a handful of coupons.
Not your normal coupons but the Dollar Store coupons that if you spend over $25 you get $5 off.
So the cashier rings up $30 or so and she pays, then the cashier rings up another $30 or so and she pays, until she finally runs out of coupons. Then she bought stuff that wasn’t marked so the cashier has to run and check the price. Then one of the kids runs off with her purse and she doesn’t notice until it is time to pay again.
We will NEVER EVER AGAIN go shopping on a Saturday.
Poor Sah-dog saw us coming in with all the bags and we didn’t do a pet store run and now he is upset because he didn’t get some new treats.
We’ve been home for a half hour and I still feel sick to my stomach from the heat.
I forgot chocolate but the way I feel right now I don’t think I could eat any anyway.
We only did one store today but I am not going back out until Monday. The rest of the stuff can wait.
Welcome back Nymph! Glad you had a good time campin’.
coldblood like sari said. Don’t forget to run nekkid through the house, wavin’ your hands about and yellin’ YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!
Chikin is done, Ok, been done for a little while now. Looks beautimous and tastes wondermous. As a public service I felt I needed to test it. Guests are arrivin’ so I shall go festivate.
Laterz!
Happy Caterday to all! I’ve lots to catch up on as its been a while, but the short version is|
The trek to idaho from Cali to look for work finally bore fruit, and I am now employed at the juvenile detention center, doing much the same work as I did at Calipat. It seems a great fit, as the people are awesome, quirky and dedicated, which makes for a much more positive atmosphere than working in adult corrections. I have a desk and dual monitors and a window, so double plus! Less pay, but that’s idaho for ya. The much shorter drive and MUCH cheaper ( and better!) insurance options make up for that in spades. Not to mention the MUCH MUCH MUCH better weather, so I am a happy camper.
MrTao and I trekked up to montana to visit his boys, and the trip relieved us greatly regarding their recent move there. The boys are much happier there, they aren’t way out in the boonies as we thought, and its just a HUGE relief knowing the move is so good for them.
So out challenge over the next year is to get in better financial standing, find MrTao work up here, and then move the household to idaho. I wasn’t sure if that was really what MrTao wanted to do, but after a year or so of considering it, it turns out it is, so pluses all around. Hey, he waited nearly a year for my answer to HIS proposal
Rosie’s sig to everyone as I caffeinated outside, enjoying this lovely weather without having to worry about employment for the first time in over a year.
We’ve quit for the day. Check out the first 5 pics hereif you’re curious about what we’re doing. There will be more supports on the long sides - **FCD **wanted to get the gravel in first. I’ve learned not to ask certain things…
I’ve been tylenoled, and I think I’ll go knit in a bit.
**sari **- we did our shopping yesterday specifically to avoid Saturdays at the store. My sweetie had to run to Lowe’s today and he said it was a zoo!
Yay, Tao!! Glad to hear things are falling into place!
Went to the bank and took my bass clarinet for a walk.
Looks like it’ll be nice weather on Monday. My class might go for a picnic.
I need to write some music today.
Ah weekend. I’m going to hide in my cave because people were getting on my everloving nerves at irk, plus the Major Construction Project down the street is still going on. Now they have large slabs of rock for shoring up the sides of the hole they dug out of the hill.
I think I’m going to argue with the Reusable Market Bag pattern again. It was the cause of Much Profanity last night due to lack of clarity in the instructions.
Yay Tao! It;s good to hear from you and in fact, I had been thinking of you recently and wondering how you were making out. Glad to hear that Idaho is a good fit for you and that you’re happy and working.
Poor Sari! and poor Sah-dog - guess he’ll have to wait to get his treats. MD seems to have quite a few “no-name” Dollar stores, ones just like you described. In fact, that was where I used to get my wallet pouch that I wear around my neck - it’s an ID holder as well, very convenient. Needless to say, I have NOT been able to find anything like that in Albuquerque. LOL Here’s what gets me about those stores, though - why the heck do they call themselves dollar stores, when most of their merchandise is well over $1?! Dollar Tree, yeah, everything is one dollar. But Dollar General and Family Dollar - forgettaboutit! LOL
I am waiting for my daughter to get back from the store. We’re having pizza and wings tonight, but I’ve also made some beans and rice, which we’ll have tomorrow. Or maybe I’ll have a taste of them in a few minutes …
Happy Caturday all - and BooFae, enjoy your time beneath the pile of cat!
It didn’t take long. We’ve turned into that retired couple that has dinner at 4:30!!!
To be fair, we did work hard out in the heat and we had a quick lunch, and I don’t expect this will last after the deck is done, but for now, yoiks!!
I should be able to finish my shawl this evening. So I shall get to it now. Time to log off and veg the night away.
MWAH!!
Ye, i do.
Ladies, a running start, a trampoline, and flapping like mad might work.
I went to  Wally World  today, since i needed socks and pants. EMS showed up, but left emty handed.
: waves at Tao :
Tao!!! Glad things are goin’ good for ya. Here’s hopin’ Mr. Tao and you find a good life in Idaho, home of N.O.T.
‘Tis been a good day. A good time was had by all at the pool. The early dindin was a hit and now, everyone has gone home. Da bear is all showered and cleanded. Everything is all cleanded and put away as well. Time to chill for the evenn’.
Mention has been made of how darkish I look all of a sudden. I owe that to my 1/16 Choctaw heritage.
Someone have a fork? I cooked! Sadly that’s not bring a fork & taste what I cooked, but stick it in me cause I’m done!
We’re in the 4th day of this heat wave, so I was smart, I froze a bottle of Powerade & stuck it in a cooler in the car so that I’d have something cold to drink between laps/at the end. However, despite being in the car for hours, it didn’t melt! :smack:
There was a dragon boat regatta on the [del]Sch[/del] river today. (I’m sorry, I can’t think of this as a real sport because it reminds me of my favorite college drinking game, Viking. :D) Most of the teams had tents setup & had grills, kegs, etc. I walked past one that had a big 5 gallon jar of pickles. I asked for & was given some pickles/juice; that saved my <snerk>butt<snerk> from being really cooked. Sorry, Swampy.
Came home, grabbed a beer & got in the shower. Does anyone remember Body on Tap shampoo? Is that sacrilege? If it matters, it was a shandy.
Midget, does your instrument heel when you’re out on walks?
ETA: just saw that Edith died
Stifle yourself, Spiderboy.
We went to the beginning saltwater class at the Local Fish Store.
This is going to cost money.
