metal mouse, don’t be too upset; some places will give out the senior discount with the AARP card you get at 50.
I finally finished enough stuff for month end to not have to make an appearance at irk Friday.
Tomorrow, I’m going to my niece’s house for the feast. She requested my corn pudding and her 14 year old daughter requested the makins for mutant candy cane reindeer, a fun family tradition.
metal mouse - my spousal unit is 3 years younger than I am but he went gray years ago and I have yet to sprout my first gray hair. So he’s been given senior discounts for years! I keep forgetting to ask.
Kevin’s didn’t do chicken today, so **FCD **had oysters and I had shrimp and supper was yum. We’ll have some ice cream later. Time for chillage now. MWAH!
Being old and Married, I tried some Store Bought General Tsau’s shrimp. Perhaps it was Doctor Zhivago’s Shrimp. At any rate, it Did Not Go Over Well.
Green beans (must have been cheaper than snow peas), baby corn, shrimp (Which Mrs. Plant (v.3.0) likes, despite nested parentheses) and red bell peppers, towards which, as far as I know, she is ambivalent. The breaded chicken was cooked in the oven, healthier than having been fried.
The green beans were unlike the canned variety (urk!) and admittedly the Doctor General made some very hot sauce. In the future I shall make it myself with better ingredients and my own sauce.
Home and since I work tomorrow I had a traditional Thanksgiving dinner tonight; meatloaf. Hey - you be thankful for what you want and I’ll be thankful for what I want.
Feelin’ sleepified. We shall retire to the boudoir to watch teevee until sleepy time. The way I feel that won’t be long and no need to sleep with Mel, Ben, or Ty tonight.
We settled on McD’s for dinner, mostly because it was closest. DH worked today, he’s wiped out, and I’m feeling a bit tired myself (probably built-up sleep deficit). Tomorrow is total lazy day (except for cooking, but that won’t be too bad).
Now relaxing with some white chocolate cocoa with a bit of sugar-free peppermint syrup. Yum.
I agree that the syrupy wines are not my idea of a dinner accompaniment, but the original owners of Maneschewitz were family. Second cousins. We got free Tam Tam crackers several times a year and free matzoh and Heavy Malaga wine every Pesach.
Ruble, I thought it was “You never call your mother!”

As well as “So why couldn’t you be a doctor?”
And for a real hood feel, make it a 40-O of some Strong Bull in the back of a bus.
And I was frikkin the last on a page again!!! It’s an evil communist plot. They still haven’t forgiven me for all those records Dad and I had smuggled into the Soviet Union during the 70s.
Doggio - Hopefully this will be the last move for a long, long time.
Weelllllll my shift started out rough. Got to the house and my client was very excited to see me - he then promptly went into the bathroom and smeared feces all over himself and the bathroom floor. As I was cleaning him up, he threw up on me because it smelled bad.
I asked if he had used the restroom all day (it was lot of of feces, and he’s supposed to be assisted with hygiene every 3 hours) and he said he was waiting for me to get there. He’s never done either of these things before. Looks like I’ll need to have a meeting with the other staff.
Thankfully I was able to keep it together while in his presence (it’s not his fault, and I don’t want to gag in front of him and have him feeling guilty) - but I’m very thankful I hadn’t eaten yet. It wasn’t pleasant.
3 hours later and I still can’t handle thinking about food. Darn. I thought I had an iron stomach.
Luci, that is indeed a rough start to the day. Makes me very grateful that I only have to deal with the playground antics and tantrums of first-year university students.
Nice night out yesterday, we finished up going to a country pub instead of the ones we’d originally thought about so that was a pleasant change. We’ve been there several times before but not for a while so it was good to go somewhere different. It did mean I had a late night so I am quite tired today, but I have to keep going because I’m off to the Thinema tonight…cinema screening of live theatre…tonight’s offering is Dame Judi Dench and Kenneth Branagh in “A Winter’s Tale”.
Typically my clients don’t have this type of emotional outburst. Him saying he was waiting for me so that he could go to the bathroom, along with it occurring during shift change, leads me to believe he isn’t as comfortable with the Swing staff. But we’ll take a look and see how it can be addressed. Usually the resolution is something simple that we can do differently to make the client more comfortable.
All of that being said, I’m excited to get off shift and go home and take a long hot shower.
Hope everyone has a Happy Turkey Day/Happy Thursday!!!
