The Pass Over MMP

My mother loved her little bedroom in the basement.
After my father died my maternal grandparents moved in and she gave them her old bedroom and had the basement remodeled.
She has a nice sized bedroom, a little sitting room with a (gas) fireplace and a separate bath. Lots of closet space. She got all new furniture, including a water bed. There’s a fridge down there and she added a coffeepot and microwave. It’s her own little space.
Now that she is 78 going up and down the stairs is getting old.

So she called me back. My niece has made arrangements for tonight since they have no power and it’s going to be cold. She may be coming here for a while while my mother is staying at her bf’s daughter’s house. Oh joy and happiness! I’ll probably try to sleep all day and work at night when the kids are asleep.

So my taxes are mailed, pizza is eaten, I got all the paper work that needs to be signed from the realtor but I will print, sign and scan tomorrow. I have to go to the bank to get a certified check anyway. I wish I had known that before I went out today. I guess that means I actually have to walk into the bank, doubt if that can be done through the drive thru. Clothes are still in the washer.

**Spaz ** If it were up to me there would already be booby traps in the yard. My mother swears to me I don’t have to worry about her, that she can handle them, but if that were true they wouldn’t be here now would they?

I could’ve posted more but I’ve just been following sari’s soap opera all day.

I had the interview and the interviewer was super nice. We shall see what happens.

I’m waiting now to hear if I can go see RT tonight since he’s delivering somewhere close and I don’t have school tomorrow. It would be nice.

It’s coming together…

MOOOOOOM that’s gonna be an ummmm… innerestin’ lookin’ bike there.

I shall go lie upon the bed and watch teevee until sleepy time hits. ‘Tis a cool evenin’ so crawlin’ under a warm blankie should feel nice.

Nitey Nite Y’all!

Go ahead and watch me not whine.

RT is going straight to his delivery tonight (instead of a truck stop) which means that I cannot visit or else I’d be trespassing on private property. I understand why he’s doing it and I’m not mad at him, but it really kind of sucks that he’s only about 20 minutes away from here and I can’t go hang out for a little while.

Oops, whining ensued.

Who might that be?

::look of complete innocence::

Sticky, I can relate! It doesn’t do any good to get angry, so it’s good that you’re not! My husband has been at the Pilot about half an hour from here, and I couldn’t get there to spend some time with him, because we were having an ice storm at the time. He had the good sense to pull over, and it was really close to home, but, that’s how it goes, sometimes.

FCM, that’s a cool looking scooter!

Sari, you, and your mom, have your hands FULL! Deity be with both of you!

Nothing much has been going on around here today. I just ate some pizza, and that was our dinner. I baked some cookies while ago, too. They ended up being sort of cake-like sugar cookies. I used strawberry yogurt in them, instead of milk. Just to see if it would work. It did. They’re not real sweet, and they sort of taste like strawberry yogurt. Not too bad, really.
That’s about all that has been going on in my little corner of the world.

I had a great time over on the other side of the state visiting my son over the weekend. It was Moms Weekend at the University. We hung out, we went out to eat, I saw where his classes were, I met some of his professors, and I sat in on a Global Case Management presentation about arsenic in the water in Bangladesh.

Today my son’s very first opinion piece was published in the University newspaper. Linky here: http://www.dailyevergreen.com/opinion/article_9755d6ec-c42d-11e3-9b4a-0017a43b2370.html

I thought it was quite good, but he feels it will be taken out of context because he had to cut down the size of the piece.

Sari, I’m sorry about all your family woes. I think I’d be locked up in the nuthouse by now if I was dealing with all of that.

I’m sorry you didn’t get to see your sweetie, Sticky, but it’s quite common. While my husband was OTR, that happened quite often.

I suppose I should think about what to cook for dinner. I’m not really interested in eating, but as always, my husband is interested in some kind of food.

Taters, you should make him do the cooking then, if he’s more interested in eating than you are.

I drove to work with the A/C on. I drove home with the heat on. It might get down to 28 tonight. Happy Frickin’ Spring.

I downsized. Then a friend paid off a bar tab with furniture. Now I’m upsized.

Sari,. Hope Sari-Mom kicks the deadbeats out, and lets the niece and kids move in. And if not, I can get you a deal on a duct tape/ shovel/ tarp combo.

Bummer about not seeing RT ,sticky.

Interesting look for the Hog, Mooommmm!!!.

We ended up going out to dinner to a German/Polish restaurant. I had jaeger schnitzel, potato dumplings and red cabbage. I am soooo full. I gave part of my schnitzel to my husband.

Now it’s time to relax. I am tired.

Does anyone have any idea of any rational reason to leave one’s shopping cart tucked in behind a neighboring parked car, within a foot of said car, when cart corrals are less than 20 feet away?

**Nettie **- is laziness rational? Certainly that’s the reason.

Good morning! Higgs was quiet till after 5 - huzzah! It’s about 31° in my back yard at the moment - BOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! It’ll be another inside day - too chilly for yard work - Yay! I’ll do some more claying. I was thinking about some pieces I’d like to try.

**FCD **will probably finish the bike today, and if he does, he’ll try to ride it. He will be cold, even with chaps, but he will ride, because after 30 years, I know my sweetie.

That’s pretty much all I can come up with at this hour. I should make myself some breakfast.

Happy Wednesday!

buh-lerf!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis a chilly 39 Amurrkin out (we are most definitely not amused!) with a predicted high of 66 for the day. Oh well, at least after today the temps start to climb back into the 70s and 80s over the next week. Firday, however, shall be rainy.

Taters that’s a great op ed piece. The tot done good! Glad you had a good visit with him last weekend.

Nettie there is no rational reason for lazy and stoopid.

StickyBuns sorry you didn’t get to see RT.

Ok, now I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy wants sustenance. Then, alas and alack, irk purtification must commence.

Happy Hump Day Y’all! Just. Does. Not. Get. Old. Sean, you agree, right? :stuck_out_tongue:

Morning, I’m up and caffeinated. I’m off to work ,and it’s 34 outside.

Blurf.

I can handle the temperature, it’s the wind that blows. <snerk>

Sari, I’ve said it here before. Friends help friends, Mumpers help you hide the bodies.

Why do I always get myself in trouble on Facebook?

A friend posted something political and I sent her a private message sincerely asking her thoughts on the issue and expressing mine and she thought I was taking cheap shots at her and being sarcastic. Apparently my opinion is too stupid to even be considered as real. :dubious: I gave her the benefit of the doubt and tried again this morning. Hopefully I will get a better response.

Sticky, I’ve found that on FB as in life, politics is best avoided unless you know you are in perfect accord with the person you want to discuss it with. I’ve unfriended a number of people due to their unrelenting, extreme views coupled with a refusal to acknowledge that “the other side” has any merit at all. Maybe it’s because I’m mostly moderate, seeing that each side has good and bad points. Those who declare “It’s all Obama’s fault” or “It’s all Bush’s fault” and keep their partisan blinders securely in place just will not look at the big picture. So good luck with your friend, but don’t hold your breath.

I’m showered, dressed, and fed. First load is in the washer. Claying will begin when all the laundry is out on the line. It’s still in the 30s, but the sky is clear and the sun is shining. It should be a good drying day. **FCD **has run to the auto parts store for a piece of fuel line as bike assemblage continues. And so begins another day at FairyChatEstates!
