The Pay-It-Forward MMP

He does live in Arkansas after all.

Well, yes, but Dick York and “Educational”?
In my…crowd…“Educational” was a euphemism for pornography, so I am confused.
And the actor who played Darren was changed…did Samantha do that, or the Producers?

Sort of bad but not terrible news. Furnace needs replaced. Odd thing is I can get a more efficient one with better features for almost $500 less than the last one cost me. Not many things in my life have gone down ------- Carrier seems to be one of them.

Clearly, you thought wrong, Spaz :dubious:
P.S. Flytrap, I believe it was Adam West who did your type of ‘educational’ film.

Thank you for my first-thing-in-the-morning LOL! Altho, to be honest, I didn’t laugh too loud as my sweetie is still sleeping. I’ll let him have his last 15 minutes, because I’m nice, dammit!

I failed to check the level of pellets last night, so the stove ran out. I took advantage of its cool state to scoop out some ash, but I forgot to clean the window. Oh well, next time… Anyway, it’s up and running again, so warmth shall soon fill the room.

I’m thinking I may go all Suzy Homemaker today. Not to the extreme of moving furniture to vacuum or washing windows, but I think I’ll dust    and maybe wipe down the kitchen cabinet doors. We’ll see how long that ambition lasts. I’ll have to tidy my desk also - it’s pretty sad-looking.

On into the day - Happy Firday!!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 31 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 61 for the day.

Ruble sorry for the furnace woes, but yay for gettin’ a newer and better one for last money than the last one.

Ok, that’s all I got for now. I need more caffiene and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas and alack, irk purtification must commence. Since I am ahead of schedule this mornin’ for some reason, I think I shall betake myself to the orifice around seven this mornin’ so’s I can get outta there around three-thirty this afternoon.

Happy Firday Y’all!

Yay, I’m psychic! Got a text from securitatin’ boss, telling me when 'n where my firday shift will be

He’s now gone in to a huff 'cos I said I’d prefer not to irk a late shift on Sattiday; I don’t mind doing the football, but I don’t think I can face a 12+ hour day with a later than 1am finish at the end of a 6 day week. Apparently only giving him 2 days notice is unreasonable (even though I only said I’d prefer not to be scheduled, not that I couldn’t be)- this from the guy who thinks 2 hours notice is fine, for staff :dubious:

Anyhow, I needs to go do a bit of present shopping again before irk. I think I’m giving the cousin some fancy herbal teas with a manatee shaped infuser, but I originally got that for the bro, which means I now need to get him something else…

As implied upthread, I spent a lot of Monday feeling blurf. Tuesday was also blurfy, although I got outside to do some errands (physical therapy, a doctor appointment and a pharmacy run for kaylasmom), and Wednesday, which doesn’t require me to leave the house I felt the blurfiest of all, to the point where I actually called in sick to work. I didn’t even feed my darling wife all day until about 8 p.m., when I called for pizza, at which I was able to do little more than nibble.

Thursday morning I felt a little bit better, but still kinda blurfy. I didn’t want to call in sick again, because the previous night had been the second week in a row that I had extended my weekend by a night with a sick call, and I didn’t want the boss is starting to think I was engaged in funny business. So, I powered through the blurf, and forced myself to report to work. My plan was, if the blurf persisted, I would report such to my boss send request to be sent home.

Instead, with every passing hour I began to feel better. I have come to the conclusion that my blurfiness both last week and this week was caused by the bag of cinnamon-scented pine cones I brought home from the supermarket two weeks ago.

Kinda like reverse aromatherapy. :smack:

DAAAAAAAAD just readin’ “cinnamon scented pine cones” made my sinuses hurt.

[del]Minions[/del] Assistants (local and long distance) are out and about all day today. Well, they should both be finished up by around two p.m., but I told 'em to call it a day then. I see no need for both of ‘em to trek back to orifices it bein’ Firday and all. I’m nice like that dammit!

So, I shall bzzy myself with paperirky stuff, and barrin’ anybody decidin’ to act a fool today, it should be a pretty easy day. Most of the program participants don’t train on Firday, and it’s not payday. We shall see if this actually happens.

Blurf, sorta. I’ll test out my new boots today. My old boots were a bit too sacred. (They were holey.)

I’z tahred. The combination of surgery 6 weeks ago, a sinus infection last week and my kitchen being demolished has sapped every last ounce of energy. Tomorrow we are going to see the David Bowie Is exhibit at the Museum of Contemporary Art, then to Lincoln Park for Sticky Toffee Pudding (aka the best dessert IN THE WORLD), then to the Christmas market in Daley Plaza. I plan to collapse on Sunday.

I just finished cleaning both bathroom upstairs.
<pause for effect>
Yep, you read that right. I cleaned 2 bathrooms. Including the shower stall and bathtub. And vacuuming up enough pug hair to build another pug.

Go me!

I deserve a reward!

Up snd caffeinated. Off today, so I shall do laundry, and clean the kitchen.

Feel better, Wet One.

Ruble glad the new one will be cheaper, and more efficient. Wish girlfriends worked that way, too.

But it smelled so GOOD in the store!

I learned my lesson, though.

Today’s unusual Arkansas News.

I won’t do it from irk, but google it; it’s for real.

Swampy, you’re posting the above quoted line in the MMP? Actin’ the fool is expected here! :stuck_out_tongue:
kaylasdad is allergic to Christmas!

Just found out from work we have Christmas Day off; which we didn’t originally when they hired us/opened this joint. And maybe – just maybe – Christmas Eve. No pay of course (with this company all you get paid for is work - not holidays or lunch or anything) but I can live with that.

A scurrilous and false allegation.

I’m allergic to Bonanza.

They were Ponderosa pine cones.

Firday!
(blurf)

I am all verklempt with amazement and awe at the generosity I just encountered. I learned that one of my participant’s home burned down last night. She lost everything, but fortunately has a sister she can stay with while she puts her life back together. Knowin’ she has immediate needs, such as clothin’, I placed a few calls around town to places that might be able to help. An hour later, I had gift cards of varyin’ denominations in hand for stores all around town. Gift cards from places such as :eek:Wally*World:eek:, Kohl’s, J.C. Penney, Dillard’s, The Pubic Sto’, Ross, and, odd, but I guess it’ll be nice to go out and have a meal, Olive Garden, among others. I just got back from takin’ them to her. She was just overwhelmed and boohooed. Da bear boohooed right along with her. Seriously. I made some calls, and about an hour (maybe a little more) later, I got a call sayin’ there were three people in the lobby to see me. I went up and my Deacon (we love Joy!), and two folks I didn’t know were there with the giftcards in hand. I asked how on Earth they got all this that fast. Joy was all like, “well you know, I do have some discretionary funds, and I do know how to amass a posse (the two women who were with her) to get stuff done.” Have I mentioned how much I lurve my Deacon Joy?

No matter what else happens today, I can’t imagine nuttin’ bringin’ me down from this high.

flytrap that was ummm… innerestin’.

DAAAAAAD HAR! That gave me a good laugh.
