Spidey not one of mine. One of mine would have had a cup of grits all smooshed up.
TVCTPMO, tech division, is conspirin’ against me today. Or was. First it was teh intartoobz, then email, then the scanner, then the fax, then even the phone. Right now, it’s all decided to act right again. We shall see how long that remains true.
I yanked some beef and veggie soup outta da fridge this mornin’ for dindin. Since then, however, OYKW has advised me he has a gnawin’ and a cravin’ for The General’s dindin, so that shall be dindin. Hey, he’s buyin’. I shall reward him for that however. No, not that! Get yer minds outta the gutter. SHEESH! Ima make a peach cobbler when I get to da cave, partly cause I got me a gnawin’ and a cravin’ and it’s also one of his fav-o-rites.
Does anybody know what happens if you press the windows key and r at the same time? Twice now scammers have asked me to do this.
I told the guy I got the blue screen of death and he actually cussed at me and called me a liar.
Imagine he called me a liar!!!
I asked him how long did he think Americans were going to fall for their stupid scams.
Then my very next call some bitch asked for me by name to sell me car insurance.
At first, I thought she was talking health insurance and the call was legitimate.
I believe that is the “run” command. It brings up a prompt and you type the name of the program to run. Perhaps they have some way of accessing it, or perhaps they will ask you to run something that identifies your PC on the web.
It was a bit windy on my way to work today, we did have heavy rain while I was at work, but by the time I headed home, the rain was what I would call “moderate”, and the wind has calmed way down.
I’m really not impressed by this “storm”. NBD, IMO. Definitely not worth all the worry and drama.
I was in the mood to watch some old Dick York educational films so I wended my way to archive.org. Turns out the storm in SF has knocked out their servers. Therefore I was *forced *to spend money to buy the Rifftrax versions of educational shorts. None of them contain Dick York. I did eat a York peppermint patty, though.
Howdy Y’all! The General’s dindin has been ingested. OYKW needed to go back to his place tonight because he has to start irk at six a.m. tomorrow mornin’. He has to do a home health visit monitorin’, poor thing. Thus no makeage of peach cobbler tonight. I shall do so Sattidy instead as we have invitated JDD and Partner to come for dindin. I figure they could do with some down home cookin’ bein’ as they’ve been dealin’ with JDD’s mom in ICU and his dad in the nursin’ home. I told ‘em to come over, put their feet up, have a couple adult beverages and a home cooked meal. No objections were heard. I’m thinkin’ comfort food like beastloaf, mac 'n cheese, field peas with snaps, cornbread, and peach cobbler. That’s the type of stuff that does the body and soul.
Supper was yum! I steamed the rice with some teriyaki marinade mixed with the water. The tempura was yum, tho **FCD **wasn’t too crazy about the sweet N.O.T.s - cobbler is standing by for ingestion later.
I only exchange with the two, 'cos we all grew up together, and we go round their Mum’s every boxing day (the 26th) and have done since I was a foetus (except the ones I wasn’t in the country).
My other cousins don’t even get a card. Serves 'em right for mostly living in Australia.
The post office ain’t getting any more interesting. I am getting an increasing urge to slap some of my fellow temps round the ear though- some of them aren’t even pretending to irk, except when a supervisor is literally standing there making them do something. Plus I keep having to fix stuff they’re doing wrong, because they’re not paying any attention. I know it’s boring, but just sitting there occasionally whining doesn’t make it any more interesting for you or anyone else. Bah.

Yeah, I grew up in Chicago, so I’ve got some reference to what “storm” can actualy mean. Inland, at least, this isn’t much of a storm.
When I was in Charlotte, our area would get the occasional pounding of torrential rains that showed on the Doppler as purple - rain like that makes you think the house is about to be dissolved with you in it.
Today, it’s been an all-day light to moderate rain, but OTOH, the building in SF where I theoretically work from lost power and/or data service today, and a couple of BART stations flooded or lost power. They are still talking about the possibility of gusty winds, and there’s a nice orange blob on the Doppler that seems to be using Highway 4 as a notheastern bound, so we may still get more rain.
