The perfect snack

Jelly Belly sours are the perfect snack. they taste good, they don’t melt when you carry them in your pocket, and they stay fresh for long time.

I personally like those flat Oriental noodles. I think they are fried, and some are slightly puffy. You can carry those in a jacket pocket, they don’t melt, and if you fail to empty your pockets before laundering, it’s really no big deal. And the dog likes them. And they are crunchy.

Cigarettes.

They fit in your pocket. They dont melt. They take 10 minutes a piece to consume and they’re fat free.
And Reeses Pieces. Cuz being thin with bad lungs would suck… why not eat some sugar coated fat?

I like Bottle Caps–especially the cola and root beer flavors. There’s no risk of them melting, they’re fairly inexpensive, and they last a long time (assuming you don’t chew them!)

My favorite ‘messy’ snack is Mr. Salty pretzel sticks covered with honey mustard.

Nummy! In my case its Utz sourdough pretezels in honey mustard and it is so good. I have to go get some now.

Other favorites include extra garlic pickles, pita bread with hommus, and pretzels in blue cheese dressing.

Those little donuts that come in packs of six? Oh yeah. Love those, man. Or Famous Amos cookies, the kinds that are chocolate in those little packs. Yum.

Hot & Spicy Cheez-Its. I’m not looking for portability or messiness factor, I’m looking for texture and taste.

And in those departments, they are KING.

Apples - Sweet and delicious (or sour if you like granny smiths)
Celery and Peanut Butter - Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Raisans - like grapes but old and wrinkled
and if I must eat out of a vending machine Andover pretzels

But the truely greatest snack?
BEER!

My preferred snack food varies from time to time, but I have to say a Snickers bar is always perfect. You’ve got options-the regular size, king size, mini, ice cream. Chocolate, nuts, caramel-what’s not to love? As much as I hate to admit I’ve eaten a deep-fat fried Snickers-it was just a curiosity thing-I have to say it was pretty good.

Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich. It’s messy, doesn’t transport in one’s pocket, and it’s fattening, but man are those things good. I could live on PB&J should the need arise. Oh! Now I have to go make one…

Combos. You know, those preztel things with the cheese in the middle. Especially the pizza-flavored ones. I can eat the large bags of those without realizing that I’m about to finish the entire bag until it’s almost empty, they’re that good.

Jerky, any kind really, beef (peppered or hot-n-spicy) turkey (peppered or teryaki) salmon (peppered or teryaki) individually wrapped sausage products, Slim Jims…
kippered beef snacks.

As you can probably tell, I go through a lot of floss.

Wasabi peanuts are good too(Trader Joes).

Macadamia Nuts

White Cheddar popcorn
Doritos (nacho cheese)
Peanut butter on apples
cheeze whiz on celery

My son’s favourite snack is mini-pizzas - crackers with ketchup, cheese, and meat (bologna, salami, etc). Ketchup since he doesn’t like the pizza sauce I get for him.

Jerky, but only home made. The stuff you get in the store is too soft and juicy. I like it when its like shoe leather.

Also, kosher dill pickles. Yum! The best part is that you can keep enjoying that wonderful flavor for hours after you’ve eaten them!

Strawberry frosted Pop-Tarts. Oh, and those little chocolate covered espresso beans.

Garlic pistachios.

The only place you can get 'em is the swap meet. And I don’t need to go to the swap meet; in fact, I’d be much better off not going to the swap meet, as I’m pretty much broke until payday next week, but they do have garlic pistachios. And… um… floor mats! Yeah, I need a new set of floor mats to replace the one that the car wash lost last week! Hey, I do need to go to the swap meet. And maybe, just maybe, if I really feel like it, pick up some garlic pistachios. Three bags of them for five bucks. Or… hey, they’ve got that big honking 3-pound bag for 12 bucks… that’d be more economical, right? Only maybe they’d get stale after a while. So I’d just have to eat them fast…

Off to the swap meet. Seeya!

Dried apricots.

A big bowl of Multi-Grain Cheerios–without the milk.
