Yup, and you totally deserve to crow. 6-0 on the trip, and the Phillies have helped by stinking up the joint for you. So it’s not like Atlanta backed into it; they really have played better.
But you know, it DID take you two pages of posts to overtake Philadelphia…
I remind you all:
1991: the Braves were 9.5 games out of first (held by the Dodgers). After they got Fred McGriff, they went 52-17 and win the pennant.
The year the Braves beat San Fran by one game, it came down to the last day of the season. And LA beat them, 6-1 IIRC.
They’re now in first place. I’m going to start gloating in a month if they’re still there. I’m still waiting for the Phillies to remember how to win.
Boy, I’m sure bold up there, aren’t I? Could be an omen…

Well … it is only a half game, but I’ll take it.
After watching Philly self destruct against the Braves these past 3 days, I’m going to hope for a split against FL. (hey at least I’m saying you might win a game) IF you get some pitching support.
I’d be in a fog if I think the Braves will sweep the Mets again … but fog is good. After that Philly again. Hmmmm, maybe they’ll show up at the ballpark this time. (hint, hop on the train, follow the crowd).
What I truly wonder is, are we seeing the Rocker Curse lifted or something? The Braves are looking like a totally different ball club since he was shipped off. Coincidence?
