The pinch hit MMP

No.

Yes it is. Have a margarita, too.(Citrus drinks are very breakfastly). ((Obviously I’m working hard, aren’t I? ))

Damn. Too late.

It’s going to be a multicultural day. Souvlaki for lunch.

heated up frozen veggies and tuna for my lunch - but not for another hour or so. I only woke up at 10am

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall.
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall.
And all the King’s horses,
and all the King’s men,
Had aig sallit for lunch again.

I had a gnawin’ and a cravin’ for some aig sallit so I made some and we et it for N.O.L.

That is the latest excitatement from swampland.

Stayed up late watching hockey and drinking beer. Slept til 10:30.

Been a bad week for me and being related to deaths.

First, and old high school buddy was killed when a truck hit him at work. That wake is tomorrow.

Then this happened. He was a student at the district I used to work in, and the town I still live in. I know a lot of people that knew him including his principal, and the son of a friend who plays on a rival team the same age.

Dang CatDude! I’m so sorry about the loss of your friend. However, the kid’s death just has me floored!:frowning:

Who’s she?

It must also be really bad for the guy throwing the ball.
I’d have not made a flippant post if I’d read that.
Sorry.

mmmms, CatDude and other Mumpers throughout the midwest, be safe. That’s some nasty storms predicted!

Umm… evening!
hugs to those who need them.

Had a decent day today, spend half of it trying to find worms at my allotment to entertain my friend’s small child. She likes worms. If she’s wearing gloves, so they don’t yuk on her. Got slightly muddy, as it’s been tipping it down all week. I’ve been doing very much nothing all week, and not posting.

I did have busy plans for tomorrow- I was going to be going to an apiary day; I joined the local beekeepers’ group a while back, as I’m hoping to get bees, then immediately became broken, and haven’t been to any events. The first open day that I’ve been able to walk for is tomorrow, and I was really looking forward to going. I just went to get the directions to the farm it’s at and… I don’t have them. Anywhere.

They’re not on the message I thought they were, they’re not available on their website, they’re not on freaking google. All I could find was a mention that it was near the west side of a local airfield, next to a suburb of the city. A suburb that’s several miles away from said airfield… It does have a ‘message us for more information’ thing on the website, but it’s 11pm now, and I doubt they’ll be checking that first thing tomorrow, so it looks like I’m not going. :frowning:

Have a splendid sunday people  I shall be having a long lie in if I don’t get to go play with bees.

Evening. We are in one piece luckily. Tornado sirens went off at 1.30 this morning - we didn’t here them them until closer to 2.30. Tornado touch down was about 1 miles south of us. As well as south of OKC yesterday afternoon. It was brief and no one was hurt but I am pretty scared right now. We cannot hear the sirens in the house and there have been no weather radios to be had in this city for several days. We are expecting more tonight from about midnight on. All we can do is stay in the house and hope things don’t come out as bad as they are predicting.

Urgh. mr ems is being a shit about me freaking out. I know I am freaking out but don’t make fun of me because this is my first tornado season.

Note to self…get the hell out of OK by the end of the year, And leave mr ems here to enjoy next spring!

I’m hoooooooooome at last!!! Yay!!

We picked up our daughter at 6 at her friend’s house and headed north. We got here just a wee bit before 7 this evening. Long-ass day on the road and I’m glad to be in my own house again. And, for the record, I *hate *the freekin’ Carolinas. Heading south, we came to a stop on the interstate twice for no apparent reason (no evidence of accidents or anything) and on the way home today, we were in a 10-mile long backup in SC because everyone had to slow down and gawk at the semi overturned in the median near the other side of the interstate. I was not a happy driver.

But we’re home and unpacked and the kittehs seem to be happy to have us back. We had some bean soup for supper - FYI, navy bean soup does not freeze well. But the ice cream we had for dessert was good. It’s nice and cool, so the house is open and I anticipate sleeping after I change the bed. Apparently a cat horked on the comforter and it seeped thru to the sheets. ick.

Hugs to all who need them, especially Kanga! I’ll try to share some of the highlights tomorrow - I’m too pooped out tonight.

MWAH!!

You took 95 didn’t you. Don’t take 95. That’s the worst interstate in the eastern US.

It is, for all intents and purposes, the only N/S interstate in the eastern US

If you knew Souvie like I know Souvie… :stuck_out_tongue:

It just occurred to me that if I’m going to talk about my boyfriend now and then that he should have his own proper nickname. From now on he shall be known as the Sweet Avenger because he’s very sweet and he likes the Avengers.

Well, anyways, the Sweet Avenger and I just saw Mirror Mirror and it was definitely different than your classic Snow White story, but quite good. Nathan Lane was especially funny. Tonight we were both running late getting to the show and actually ended up having perfect timing as we walked in just as the actual movie started.

At this point now that I’m back home I’m going to attempt to work on my last long paper and maybe finish it tonight. We’ll see how that goes as I’m already pretty tired.

Good night, everyone!

I rubbed Mrs. Plant’s back (The New and Improved Mrs. Plant, who I dated in 1982, not the Evile Ex Mrs Plant) and she is asleep so that she can get up at an unG-dly hour and go to work.
I will blissfully sleep until seven Ante Meridian until I have to get up and wait for the Tree Guy Who Didn’t Show Up Today to finally come cut the dead tree down for a million bucks.

I thought that was a Star Trek episode.

Did you ever have a joke so old and yet still so funny that you haven’t any idea what it’s actually about anymore and all you remember is the hysterical punchline?

Yeah, that’s me and some old friends talking about ‘that one Star Trek’ episode…

Yes, I’m working on the paper. Just taking a momentary break. It’s actually going better than I expected because it’s a compilation of three previous papers that we had to do. Mostly just creative rearranging of content with a little bit more added here and there.

High wind warning until 3am…severe weather with tornado potential should hit the OKC metro area including our town to the west at around 4AM.

Time to grab some sleep!
