Since we’re explaining terms, can somebody explain all of Phouka’s nicknames (and anybody else’s that are obscure)? I got Harvey, but how do you get kanga?
ETA: Amazing obscure annoyance of the day: I’m working on one of my constructed languages again. Somehow ‘b’ snuck into a bunch of the words (all number related). There is no ‘b’ in the language. (I often use upper-case ‘B’ to stand for another letter, but that can’t be it.) I think maybe it was supposed to be a ‘v’ or ‘n’ (look at the bottom row of the keyboard). They’re 'z’s now.
In for the evening, waiting for bro to bring me his laptop so I can work on his website. That is, apparently, the one thing in the world I can do that helps a person I love and makes him happy.
Mom is still cycling between different fears - fears of being poor, fears of Dad hurting someone (I, apparently, don’t count), fears of me leaving forever, fears of (I think) me hating her. She spent time today with Dad, and he was able to hold a conversation. He remembers the events of Monday, and admits to “laying hands” on me, but not to raising his fist. Mom was trying to assure me that Dad has promised to be nice to me and not growl at me if I go into the kitchen.
I stared at her and said, “Mom, if any other man had pulled that, I would have pressed charges and never seen him again except in a court of law.”
I think that kind of got to her.
Right now, my options are:
take my 10-day trip as originally planned.
take my trip and stay longer, but still come back
take my trip, stay a month or so and do some serious job searching, and if nothing comes up in a month, return
Get the fuck out of here and maybe consider visiting for Dad’s funeral
My older brother, the silent Vulcan, is opening up and talking to me and really, really wants me to stay. He’s had five lousy years trying to do his time in the trenches of a legal firm that folded from stupidity. He doesn’t have a social circle. He’s going to be putting all his time and effort on getting his own law office started. I feel for him, I really do.
I doubt I’ll be able to make a decision until I’m actually out in Texas, but I’ll pack like I intend to move.

After this is all over, can I get a “Get Out Of Drama Free” card?
All are good choices, if I had to take a shot #3 makes the most sense - and mind you this is the opinion of someone who doesn’t know a damn thing. It allows you to see if you can hang in Texas but takes into account the fact the time may not be quite right - right now.
Also, frankly, it allows parties who may be taking you for granted to get their shit together.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 48 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 77. Not too shabby. Today I get to tour through the eastern side of my territory. Really not too bad cause it’s four counties but the host agencies (that provide training) are all clumped close together in each town. What you have to remember about Jawja is it has many, many, many small counties. I’m thinkin’ after I do that I call irk over for the day.
kanga all are good choices. I’m kinda with giggity on number three for a starter. Even if you don’t find a job there at least you’ll have had a good break from all the stress.

Busy weekend ahead including (hopefully) finishing the rest of my homework. The first part of the week was too stressful and overwhelming so I didn’t get anything done yesterday other than going to class.
Greetings from Orange Park FL and an incredibly slow wi-fi connection. Last night, we dined at Whitey’s, and yes, I got the scallops - still yum! It was a fun time that ended too soon, but we’ll be going to our friends’ house tonight for dinner so we’ll have more time and freedom to chat.
Other plans for today are breakfast in our former favorite place, lunch at Sonny’s, and a drive out Beach Blvd to a fish place that **FCD **found advertised on the placemat at Whitey’s. We may drive around a bit and comment on how much things have changed since we lived here (yoiks, it’s been 8 years since I moved, 10 for my sweetie!!) Then tomorrow we hit the road early and with luck, we’ll be home before dark. I’m ready.
It was nice visiting with the inlaws and we were able to help them out with some heavy chores, but in the course of 5.5 days or so, I heard many repeats of stories. I know older people tend to do that. I’ve been accused of doing it myself. Doesn’t make it any more fun… Yesterday morning, we drove to Lutz where **FCD **bought a box of rocks for the aquarium that the guy had gotten from the Gulf the day before. I hope most of the corals on the rocks survive the ride home - some were really cool!

Nothing exciting going on here today, just irk for the irksome. I have to go home and feed my cats, then go over to a friend’s house tonight and feed their cat and four ferrets, go home again and do half an hour on the Wii, have a bath, get dinner and then collapse in a heap on the sofa.
'im indoors has headed north across the border to visit his family so I have a weekend to myself. That means tomorrow there will be shopping and cocktails! Yay!
At some point there may be house-cleaning and floor-vacuuming but that will have to wait until after the fun stuff happens first.
