Is that like a lemon bar dessert mix?
Sockless or circulatory issues?

Heh. I do juggling and generalised circus stuff, and we basically act like a delivery network all over the country. Seriously, we’ve got a facebook group dedicated to it. We even have badges.
I’ve had board games delivered from a friend who sells 'em up in Durham to Bristol, going via at least 4 different people who were just going in the right direction-ish (he regularly offers it to friends as a free delivery option; it might take a while, but it will get there). I’ve been a drop off point for a tent going from a total stranger to a friend, 'cos she was away that weekend. I’ve picked up circus gear from one person I don’t know, then dropped it off to another person I don’t know in other cities 'cos I happened to be going that way.
I’ve had someone I’ve never met walk up to me at a convention, hand me a hula hoop and say “Hey, are you Filbert? I think you lost this at totally different convention. Someone gave it to me at yet another convention because I said I was coming here, they said it was yours”. Friends have had the same sort of thing happen when they were at an event in another country.
The juggling network is basically like one huge extended family in many ways, complete with a few dodgy relatives… I’ve not heard of anything going missing though. Getting forgotten and reappearing with an ‘Oops, sorry!’ 6 months later, yes; disappearing altogether, no.
I have done the occasional pony express for friends and family. Delivering items from one family member to another, who then delivers to another. Longest distance I think was from California to Missouri by the time it was done.
Today I am doing exciting stuff like voting. Dealing with ever present requests for more paperwork for disability. Possibly grocery shopping. Who knows?
So, me being the sort not to let shit go called the Zappos where over $600 was spent of my money and got a nice fellow named Hans. I explained the situation with the pending charges and he was able to pull them up using the card number. The merchandise was destined for Oregon, a hell of a long way from Florida. Anyway, he made sure to cancel the orders and thanked me profusely. Now there is only one $9.99 charge that will have to be disputed.
Busy day today. 1 and a half hour to go.
Oh, My wonderful clerk made Shrimp Creole for our supper so I don’t have to cook. Love her.
You’d think so. She started to but yelp when she felt how cold they were and went running for the warm spot by the heater.
by the way - I got the judge’s decision today. it’s
FULLY FAVORABLE!!!
Congrats, rosie!! That’s got to be a huge relief for you!
Supper was sketties, because it was quick and easy and I didn’t feel like serious cooking. I stopped on the way home to pick up a few things, including sour cream so I can make my yummerrific 'nanner bread. I also got some half-n-half because Kahlua and cream. And, of course, medicinal ice cream.
I also got a carton of what used to be called Sierra Mist cranberry soda. They’ve renamed the brand, so I just got one pack, but we tasted it and it’s the same stuff. YUM! Time to start stocking up. It’s a limited time beverage and we lurves it greatly so we need to lay in a big supply.
Sketties have been ingested, dishes are done. Chillage shall ensue.
Rosie awesome news!
Congrats Rosie!
Juggling club was fun, but I can’t wait for you guys’s election to stop taking over our after juggling pub chat. Considering how much everyone over here is going on about it, I feel I should at least be allowed a vote.
Howdy Y’all! We et dindin then headed over to the church house for Evening Prayer. I was supposed to lead tonight but with my still scratchy voice, our wonderful Deacon offered to do it for me so I took her up on the offer. It went well. Now we’re home and chillage has ensued.
rosie YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!
Yay, rosie! I know that’s a relief. You may have to threaten Smokey’s job of foot warmer though.
spidey, he was more of a chocolate chip blondie. (blond with several brown spots)
I had a really light day until 2:30. Then a FUBAR project came from the upstairs office that kept me there an extra half hour just getting comparison spreadsheets ready to show why we can’t do exactly what they want. :smack:
Vaccuuming is done and laundry in the wash. Leftover white chicken chili for supper.
Congratulations, Rosie.
If Smokey abandoned her responsibilities, you must have some very, very cold feet.
Yeah Rosie! Of course, how long it takes the bureaucrats to process the judges’ orders…hang in there.
Butters, glad it got caught, I try to check my credit balance every 3-4 days on-line just in case. Been lucky so far.
Dined out at Red Robin, bought a couple of books, and napped this afternoon, so just another fun day of retirement. Began emptying the car, but still have much to do…tomorrow.
YAY!** Rosie**
I’m anal, I check my balances every day. I get a text, so one of the first things I do each morning is check. Two of my debit cards send me a text every time they are used. I check the ones who don’t have that option every day too.
FAN-DAMN-TASTIC!!!
Work was interesting. I was selected for a special question and answer session by Seattle. Of course all the managers are not allowed to know the answers I gave or anything but me being me and only 5 of us being picked ---------- I’m guessing it won’t be any big secret for long. I was quite favorable and hopeful until that last question “What do you think of the job your HR department does for you?”
At least I didn’t curse and/or burst into hysterical laughter.
I killed St. Francis of Assisi.
When I worked in the auto industry, I traveled to our Monterrey, Mexico plant on a regular basis. My Mexico counterpart gave me a ~4" terra cotta statuette of San Francisco de Asis when he found that I liked animals. It has moved with me numerous times. This time out, he lived on the bookcase in my bedroom.
Long story short (I know, too late ), it must have been knocked off into the clothes hamper next to it and wound up in pieces in the washer. RIP Paco.
Spent the night training another newbie. But I got homemade chicken soup for dinner.
YAY! WOOHOO!
Time to bring out the squirt bottle.
Little brat, who shall be nameless because he is, has a new amusement. He lays on his back at one corner of the love seat and using his claws in the side of the love seat, he pulls himself across the floor all the way around it. When I yell, he stops and looks at me, then starts again.
Then he walks over to the scratching post and looks for a treat.
Nope, he gets a treat when he uses the scratching post, not when he uses the furniture.
Sari. Surely you don’t expect the cat not to use your furniture as a scratching post? Lolololollollollol. It is to laugh.
Yay Rosie. Thank Goodness.
I will be so glad when the election is over if ever. I have bit my tongue and bent over backwards to keep my opinions to myself. I can barely do it anymore.
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work in a bit. Then voting, and then watching hockey and drinking beer.
Alex Catt must be from the same litter.
This morning, I had an email from a former coworker who is a shameless Tea Party Believer. His license tag reads “ATBAGR” which tells me he’s committed and not too bright about certain terms. Anyway, I haven’t heard from him in over a year, and he felt compelled to tell me not to vote for Hillary. Once I saw that was the jist of his message, I trashed it. I never discussed politics with this guy - why would he think I care about his opinion???
Heck of a way to start the day…
Well, on top of waking at 4AM - I don’t think I’m fully adjusted to the stoopit time change. Higgs isn’t either - she was barking like crazy shortly after 4. Stoopit time change.
**sari **- Ziva has used the bottom of every dining room chair for her scratching needs. She also did a number on the front left of our loveseat/recliner, and she’s torn up a section of drywall by the litter box. Taz has the decency to mostly use the cat tower center post that we wrapped in cord, but he also likes the carpet. Cats - what ya gonna do??
I shall vote on my way home today. That’s pretty much the extent of my plans. **FCD **sees his surgeon today for what I hope will be the last time. So, just a boring day in Paradise. Happy Tuesday!
