The Pony Express MMP

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis a chilly 46 Amurrkin out and chilly with a predicted high of 75 and sunny for the day. Nice Fall day in south Jawja. I shall spiff da cave today. I shall. I shall also take myself over to the church house for both Morning and Noonday Prayer services because I’ve been enjoyin’ the services so far. [del]Hog Trough[/del] local country buffet place for dindin because OYKW wants their fried chikin so no cookin’ today. He’s buyin’ so I’m eatin’!

OK, I need to get myself cleanded up to be at the church house by eight so I need to get a move on.

All you of age Amurrkin Mumpers who have not voted yet, don’t forget to do so.

Happy Tuesday Y’all!

Blurf. I walked to the polling place, which from door to door is about a block from me. I had to climb up half a flight of stairs to get to the actual room, stood in line for a few minutes, voted, and went down that same half-flight of stairs, and walked home. I have some pain, but not a lot. Now I have to do a load of laundry, go to the dentist, and knock some more of my current freelancing project out. Hopefully, I will be able to go back to work soon.

Up, dressed and getting ready to go vote. The price we pay for bitching the other 364 days of the year.

Happy Toosday!

It’s a chilly, N.O.S., 46 degrees outside. Supposed to get up to 66 later.

What a morning. I got woke up by a crash @ 5am when the dog was moving his bed around and caught the cord to my laptop. I’m here, so the laptop still works.
Right before that I was having a weird dream and part of the dream was telling me I need to chill out and stop being so anal.
So I get on FB to make sure my computer is still working and I see this
*Some people bring out the best in you and some make you want to research poisons and how to effectively use them without getting caught. *
My first thought? I want to fix it to say how to use them effectively.
Then I read a little thing about Bob Ross and how he painted mountains in trees.
That was too much to handle that early in the morning and so I went back to bed.

Doggio - maybe they are. Mine may end up being named Bratsy. I think he is a little miffed at me this morning since I yelled at him. Butters, I get your point. I suppose it’s better than peeing on my foot like my Stormy cat used to do. FCM - he is lucky this is old furniture that I don’t like anyway. I haven’t caught him scratching any walls, he prefers to fling cat food crumbs at the wall by his bowl to see how many will stick.

Happy voting day everybody!
I will be SDG when this election is over.

blurf I voted.

Stoic silence says just as much, really, without the tedious drama.

Did anything ever happen after your undercover boss day? It seems like the warehouse has all the signs of a shakeup happening in the near future.

I voted yesterday. Oregon is all mail in. At my nearest country drop box, there was a line of cars waiting to drop off ballots. Last night when I went by, it was still the same story. I hope the vote counters are run off their feet today running our ballots through their scantrons. Not that we’re a mystery.

Daughter, wait for it, set her alarm to mute last night. No surprise it didn’t work this morning. Despite the fact that I went into her room 45 minutes before we had to leave, made her sit up in bed, and we discussed the fact that she had no alarm this morning, she still went back to sleep and completely missed first period at school. I am going to get something diabolical (remains to be seen what) and hide it somewhere in her room so she can’t do that again. I need something to blast Reveille from under her bed at volume “11”. I’ll be googling today.

It is hard to say for sure. Two problem people got Disappeared - Associates - and suspicion is that New Site Manager maybe saw the same stuff we’ve been complaining about for ages and made some magic happen over objections from HR. New Manager is also taking a hard-ish look at some of the Old Hands who have been sort of cruising; when you find Boss working next to people you know aren’t putting much in hackles get raised. I half-expected a bloodbath and that isn’t going to be the case but I have a feeling apple-carts we weren’t even aware of are getting a kick here and there.

Shaking things out in anticipation of the increased workload of the upcoming holidays??

sari, squirt guns can be so satisfying when it comes to misbehaving cats. :stuck_out_tongue: They don’t hurt them, but, oh, the look on their faces.

Another slow day, but the big project will punch me anytime now.

Water bottles work too. Also empty soda cans filled with pennies and taped shut. You throw them near the offending puddy tat and scare them straight. If he likes catnip, rub that on things you want him to scratch (like that scratching post). He should be all over it. Also, I’ve found that the super cheap cardboard scratching boxes they sell at PetCo and even Trader Joe’s work really well. The cats love them.

Cool!

Red I think I may get a squirt gun, it would be sneakier than a spray bottle.
Sunny - I did the pennies in a can trick on one of my dogs. He liked to dig under the fence to escape and one day I caught him at it. I threw the can to land about a foot behind and to the side of him. However I throw like a girl, and have horrible aim. The can caught him right in the butt hole. He never tried to dig under the fence again.

But just so y’all don’t think I’m a mean mommy, I’m looking to rearrange the furniture so he can look out the windows. I also want to get him one of those puzzle balls that you put treats in to give him something else to do.

You have made me LOL. Poor doggie.

You are far too kind. My son got “Clocky” which moves playing Slim Whitman from the ‘Mars Attacks’ soundtrack.

What does not kill you makes you stronger. Yes, I am evil.

I have voted. In this county, it was probably in the minority, but they don’t allocate the electoral votes by county, so I’m good.

Now, what to do for supper? We’ll probably go get something because I don’t feel like cooking.

Another thing to do Sunny is stick a bag of marbles in the freezer. If she won’t get up, dump the marbles under the covers in her bed. The faster she tries to roll away from them, they faster they chase her in the bed.

Or buy several alarm clocks, the wind up kind, set them for a few minutes apart, and hide them throughout her room.

When I was in college, I put my alarm clock across the room because I kept hitting snooze. Do you know that you can walk in your sleep, hit the snooze button, then walk back into bed? I almost missed a final exam pulling that trick.

Howdy Y’all! Today I defilthyfied da cave, did some laundry, thawed a brisket for tomorrow’s dindin and even slothed a bit. A good day I’d say. We have returned from the [del]hog trough[/del] buffet place. Chillage now ensues.

I voted at 4:00, there were not many folks there.

Voted this morning and finally got all the soccer stuff out of the car (not put away, of course, just moved to a different place). Need to turn in the league-issued equipment tomorrow.

Still getting used to this idea of the sun setting before 5PM.

Dinner will be nuked Mac-n-Cheese.

I was voter #509 at 5:00p.m. My vote
Home now, making baked fried chicken with smoky N.O.T. wedges and corn with jalapenos and cilantro. Hockey is moments away.
