I voted last week. I was surprised that traffic wasn’t worse on my street this afternoon, as the polling place in this precinct is across the street at the National Guard Armory. I went to city hall.
One of the radio stations around here runs a contest every so often; usually the beginning of the school year. The winner gets to have them come over to their house & wake up a family member/roommate. This is done by a person starting (& revving) a (chainless - for safety reasons) chainsaw.
Exercised my right to [del]bitch for the next four years[/del] vote. The line was curled around & to the doorway, but that was only for people with certain last names to sign in. For my last name I walked around all of them & was first in line to sign in. After doing that there was a line of about 10 people waiting to vote but with three machines that didn’t take long at all.
For those who haven’t voted yet (& are in one of: Arizona, California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, or Virginia.): Someone at irk sent an email with a cool website. Put in your address & it shows you info on your local ballot, including the information the candidate returned. With so much focus on Presidunce & Congresscritters I didn’t even know that there was a state office on the ballot until I saw it here. I try to be an informed voter but some of the little positions it’s hard to find much if any (independent) info on the candidates. I know that going to your website is going to give me such glowing info about you  so why bother.
So, I’ve had a “friend request” sitting in my inbox for about six weeks, that reading an AMA thread in the Pit helped me make up my mind on. So, it was good for that, anyway.
If voting changed anything, they wouldn’t let us do it.
Nonetheless, Hillary is winning Arkansas 56 to 40.
And now she isn’t. :dubious:
Partly. And partly a lot of new to us management peeing to mark their territory. On the getting ready for the holidays front ----- that was today. Our 114k turned into 162k and it was all hands on deck and big push. They even came around looking for volunteers to stay at task for the full six hours we can do without a break. I took them up on it — what the heck; the gas to get there was already used and the gas to get home the same so why not? Won some Brownie Points with New Big Boss – he remarked that I was going at it as hard the last hour as the first. No extra money above the usual rate but — if I need some leverage with HR some day ----- it can’t hurt. I’m betting we have some resignations after today and maybe a couple more Disappeared.
There are reasons we’re named after a mysterious jungle.
I prefer compressed air cans. Less potential damage to electronics and such in the vicinity.
Up following the election and flipping back and forth to an old horror movie. The two somehow blend well.
I think I slept all of maybe an hour last night. I was sick to my stomach, and I don’t think it was all due to supper. I’m still feeling sick this morning. Heaven help us all…
I’m going into the office, but I don’t know if I’ll stay all day. I expect I’ll hit the wall pretty soon - it’s been almost 26 hours with a single hour of restless snoozing. Dammit.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 51 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 76 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. No huge plans for the day. I shall put the brisket, carrots, onions, and N.O.T. in the slow cooker in a while and let it go low and slow for several hours. I shall also go to the grocery sto’ and whilst I am out and about probably the liberry as well. I believe that should be enough to keep me out of major trouble for at least most of the day.
OK, I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then I shall get foodstuffs prepared, purtify, and head out amongst the public.
Happy Hump Day Y’all!
I’m taking a break from Facebook. I’m pissed off enough about the elections, and I don’t have the energy or the stomach for analyses and jeremiads and gloating. So no social media for Rockin’.
So I’m going to work on my freelance project, post here (maybe), and keep the TV and radio off. The sprog was up until 1 a.m. watching the returns, so he’s probably not going to go to school today. I’m fine with that.
Blurf.
So the Canes lost, one of my friends has terminal lung cancer, and Trump won. Gonna be one of those weeks.

Sorry for your friend, doggio.
I got about 4 hours sleep, as I stayed up late, not wanting to believe what I was seeing and then unable to sleep thinking about it. I think I have processed it now, but there is still a part of me that hopes I wake up (ala Bobby on Dallas) and it is all a dream.
With my annunities already set up, I should be OK in retirement, but I suspect my remaining Mutual funds are going to take a big hit the rest of the week. Don’t need them until 2018, but I’ll still talk to my Edward Jones lady sometime in the next couple of days.
Interesting times…
Blurf I stayed up until midnight when i saw it was inevitable that Trump would win. Woke this morning to find out he did. Still in shock. Waiting for my 401K to take a huge hit this morning.
Doogio Sorry about your friend.

Hello Mumpers, how’s everyone doing today?
I’m mildy annoyed, I got a speeding ticket this morning. I should have known better, there’s always a speed trap at that spot but for some reason I didn’t think about it until it was too late.
Lunch. I’m exhausted, but I’ll hang around a bit longer. I’ve got stuff to do and I haven’t passed out at my desk, so there’s that…
This is truly the weirdest place I’ve ever worked. Not a *word *has been said by anyone about the election. It’s surreal…
Happy Hump Day!
It’s cool and rainy outside.

MMoooommm we were told not to discuss the election at all due to the Hatch Act.
