The pre-hijacked/tetched in the head MMP

So Comrade Turkey worked out well?

Turkey Day pigout has occured. Much laughter. Much good times. Much food. Da bear is beyond stuffed! ‘Twas fun, however. Now the dish cleanin’ mechanism is doin’ it’s thing whilst I relaxate.

{{{sari}}} hope the ick is better.

BBBobbio once the bird has browned up from bakin’ I’m sure it won’t be bad.

I much prefer to buy my shrimpies and get ‘em steamed at the Pubic Sto’. Raisin’ ‘em just seems like too much trouble. Just sayin’…

ETA: Glad Mr. Turkey turned out ok BBBobbio. Nettie, comrade turkey, HEE!

The cherry shrimp are spawning again in a new tank.

So, Mrs. Plant V.3.0 and you will be havin’ shrimp cocktails!

I’ll be right over!

I’m very tired. But I did have my minor but quite irritated Thanksgiving of sausage and sauerkraut while watching Hobgoblins. That movie gets worse every time I watch it.

Soon I shall fire up my new game. I got Oblivion since Steam is having one of their huge blowout sales right now. I figured since I had to :mad:work all @##@#$ day:mad: I was going to get me a present. But Complicated Friend called me last night and I listened to “Alice’s Restaurant” (the traditional Thanksgiving Hymn) on the way to and from irk, so there were bright spots in the day. Just remember, y’all, you can get anything you want at Alice’s Restaurant.
Excepting Alice.

Dinner is done here as well, everything was good.
Everything is just about all cleaned up, I left the rest to the others to finish up and came back into my room for some quiet. All that was left was to finish slicing the turkey and put a few odds and ends away. Sah-dog ate his dinner and then got upset when he couldn’t find me, so he needs to be in the quiet in here as well.

So far my tummy is behaving, we shall see.

I have to start irk in a half hour, hopefully it will be quiet by then. I know my niece and her daughter have another dinner to go to.

Agh! Does anyone know where I put that can of cranberry sauce? I don’t like the stuff myself, but DH does.

OYKW reports he had a very nice Thanksgivin’ pigout. Thought y’all might like to know.

Tomorrow I head up to Ye Olde Hometowne. Right now I feel like I could go to beddy bye and sleep a good twenty-four hours. So Full Still!

Nettie bottom shelf of the fridge, on the left-hand side toward the back. You’re welcome!

Get Thee to a grocery store (those poor folks, like Mrs. Plant (v.3.0) have to work today) and buy real, whole cranberries. Boil with sugar and water until they burst and much of the water boils off. Nectar of the gods!

Don’t forget the orange zest

It’ll still taste just like the canned stuff. Sorry, but cranberry sauce, whether it be fresh or canned kind, tastes the same.

Heretic!
Burn him!

I am surprised that someone of your advanced culinary taste would feel that way.

Rosie, I will try orange zest next time. I hesitate to improve upon perfection.

Before I converted Mrs Plant (v.2.0) and her daughter to real cranberry sauce, she would buy a can of the jelled stuff, push it out of the can and slice it on the lines.

Also, with the canned cranberry sauce you get that satisfyin’ SCHWUMP sound as it slides outta the can. That’s tradition!

My husband prefers the canned anyway, and doesn’t much care for the level of fuss involved with a full-scale Thanksgiving dinner. He’s fine with my scaled-down edition, except for not liking turkey (I have ham for him).

Projected menu:
Turkey/ham
Gravy
Dressing, since I didn’t feel like wrestling Birdzilla to insert/remove stuffing. Might try that promising-looking sausage/mushroom recipe on the stuffing mix bag.
DH gets his cranberry sauce, which took me five different stores to find. Good thing I live near a cluster of convenience/ethnic/discount stores and was able to find some that were open by the time I noticed the original can of crangunk had disappeared (it still hasn’t surfaced, either. Dunno what happened there, since this is a small kitchen).
Vegetable side TBD.
I did buy some Hawaiian rolls, which have already been devoured.

Passover is tradition. Canned cranberry sauce is Third World kitchen.

Howdy all.

Just want to pop into say I just got back last night from driving (riding) from one end of Florida to another. Don’t do it. Now I remember why I haven’t been anywhere in three years. I will neVer leave home again except to go to irk.
:dubious:
Me and hubby and our precious four legged youngun drove to near Tallahassee to give away my old car to our son as I got a new car. We then rented a car to come back home in. Riding is no fun. There are too many cars and too many people and I discovered I don’t like my hubby too much either. At least I did not have to drug the dog. He was OK with it.
We did have the best ever feast of Thanksgiving today though. It’s a little cold here , about 60 degrees. Bum shoulder acting up from the cold. I hope you all had a great day. Sleepy time. :o

I wish it were 60 degrees here.

We had a toned done dinner as well. Turkey breast (nobody likes the dark meat except my mothers bf and he didn’t get his way this year), stove top stuffing (which is horrible stuff but not too bad if smothered in gravy), mashed N.O.T., gravy, biscuits, corn, green beans, and canned cranberry jel.

Damn mouse is back, or still here, however you want to look at it. I don’t want to look at it at all. The little sucker just ran under my bedroom door. The cloves seem to work to drive them away but it has to be sprinkled around every few days.

At Thanksgiving time
People eat cranberry sauce
Shaped like a can

That’s the second Traditional Thanksgiving Hymn, by the way.

Comrade Turkey

“You must die so that they should live”

Happy T day all

Mine was good. The Nephews are now 1yo, pics to come

Comrade Jim

::snaps boot heels together and salutes::

So why watch it? It’s apparently not in the “so bad it’s good” category for you, so why inflict that on yourself?
