The pre-hijacked/tetched in the head MMP

I was wrong - there weren’t 5 dogs at Mom’s - there were SIX!!! Her friend and our neighbor from the old neighborhood showed up with a 2-month old chi-hua-hua named Betsy! She was such a cutie, and when she copped a 'tude on Higgs, it was hilarious!!! All doggies were consigned to the living room while we all dined in the basement. How sad that hours and hours of cooking turns into about 10 minutes of eating! I came home with some pie that no one wanted as well as a turkey carcass, which will be boiled tomorrow. I didn’t feel like dealing with leftovers.

We left about 4:30 and the ride home wasn’t bad. Higgs is glad to be back on her home turf. She doesn’t like the car at all, but she did sleep most of the way, so there’s that. **FCD **was able to watch the end of the Dallas game, and now he’s watching the Ravens. I finished knitting his balaclava and I started on a scarf that my mom requested. It’s cold and I’m exhausted - bedtime is beckoning.

Tomorrow we’re going to go have a look at a pop-up trailer that can be towed by a motorcycle. Then I’ll do a lot of claying. No shopping for us. Our Christmas list is a $10 gift and an item that we want to get rid of - the goofy exchange will be goofier than ever this year.

Meanwhile, I need sleep. MWAH!!

It would have to be dire emergency to get me anywhere near any shopping location tomorrow or Saturday (I don’t normally shop on Sunday anyway). I am NOT a fan of wading through crazed mobs in a frenzy of greed.

Tomorrow I’m either working on home stuff, working on that polymer clay Nativity set, or working on genealogical research (need death dates for seven out of eight great-grandparents, need better birthdates for four or five of them as well, then I push on to the prior generation).

You know that thing about two ships passing in the night? RT and I literally passed each other on the expressway while he was headed south and I was headed north to the HFUNs. We waved. There was no time for him to stop as he was driving (and is still driving south) and won’t even get to his destination for another hour.

Honestly, that was kind of a bummer. I did have a nice time at the HFUNs, though, and some good food, too.

Home fro the feast. Good food, good friends, with a bonus showing of We’re The Millers, and a visit from my friend’s daughter, The Drama Empress[sup]TM[/sup].

Yay for the wave at least, sticky.

Does anyone know how it is that the dressing and the gravy (packet mix made with turkey stock) each taste fine separately but taste too salty combined?

Love those oven bags. Birdzilla was nice and moist. Good thing I didn’t care about presenting a picture-pretty bird, though, since the wings stuck to the bag and detached from the bird.

Good morning! On one hand, I should be ticked off that I’m up so early. On the other hand, I didn’t get out of bed till 5:45, which is still sleeping in for me. I don’t want to get used to sleeping late because that will make Monday morning that much more difficult. Hence the early rise without too much despair.

It’s low 20s at the moment and we’re supposed to see the 40s today. At 10, we’re driving to the wilds of Lexington Park to check out a pop-up trailer that one tows behind a motorcycle. On the way back, we’ll stop at Food Lion (the closest I’ll come to shopping on Black Firday) because we’re almost out of wet dog food, among other things. After that, I plan to spend the rest of the day in my studio.

So, that’s one major holiday down and one more to go. Huzzah!

Happy Firday!

It is, actually. It’s just that every time I watch it I notice more how amateurish it is. This is the kind of movie where people tip over their own table in the bar fight while the main :ahem" “actors” are chasing puppets around. This is the movie where a woman with a horrible Marge Simpson beehive waves a beer bottle at a Rocky Horror reject while cartoon sounds play in the background. Hang on, this has to be on YouTube somewhere. Here it is. It should start at the thrilling bar fight scene.

Lots to do today! Big show tomorrow and lesson plans due early.

Hope to see you all when I’m done.

swampbear, that means Happy Hannukah!

BTW, I didn’t see any Thanksgiving mention in your posts yesterday of deheathenization! Taps foot in disappointment!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 31 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 60 for the day, which is also the predicted high for Ye Olde Hometowne where I shall be headed at some point this mornin’. On the plus side, although cool, this weekend shall be sunny so there’s that.

Glad everyone had a good Turkey Day. Like MOOOOOOM said, one major holiday down and one to go. Truth be told, I just want it all over. The older I get the less fond I am of this time of year. Bah Humbug!

I need to feed rumbly tummy and need to purtify I guess. I also need to pack. Not like that’s a big deal, I just have to figure out what I’m takin’ and pack a bag.

I shall be checkin’ in whilst in Ye Olde Hometowne but maybe not often, so y’all behave. Well, as much as is possible, y’all behave. :stuck_out_tongue:

Happy Frday Y’all!

ETA: Rosie no deheathenization took place yesterday. Though I could have deheatheated Whiskypalian style at a Whiskypalian church other than my own (we didn’t have a Turkey Day service) I chose not to do so. It ain’t like it’s a day of Obligation. I was right happy not to leave the confines of da cave all day.

swampy, it was ME, Baker, who tasked you about deheathenization! Now I’m really mad, but since the leftovers are in the fridge I can’t be too upset!

I’m nearly done processing what leftovers there were. All that needs to be dealt with at this stage is the turkey stock. Just finished boiling it down, waiting for it to cool so it can be refrigerated to allow the fat to solidify for removal. Then gotta freezer-pack the stuff.

My only leftovers from yesterday is the turkey carcass and some random meat tossed in. Once my vulture sibs finished stripping the buffet, there wasn’t much left. Sure hope my mom didn’t want any of the food she’d been cooking all day…

I want to buy a small turkey and make it for us, packaging leftovers for future meals. Maybe while I’m out today?? We shall see.

blurf

DeathMistress I saw Hebrew and my mind went on auto to Rosie. Plus the caffiene had not kicked in at that time. Anywho, we didn’t have a service at St. Pat’s. I coulda gone to one at either St. Paul’s or St. John’s and St. Mark’s (two churches that combined) but since it’s not an obligatory thing to attend I chose to stay in da cave. IOW, I was slack.

About to get on my way to Ye Olde Hometowne. So I reckon I should.

Laterz!

Happy Firday!

It’s a frosty 23 degrees outside with a projected high of 40.
I have to go out today to watch piddlepup, but not until this evening. I may have to make a quick run to the corner store because there aren’t too many leftovers.
.
Only thing on the agenda today is irk. I may call the credit union to ask about all the forms I need to refinance the truck. I always feel like people should be left alone to enjoy the day after today. Just because they have to go into work doesn’t mean I have to give them work.

I guess somebody in this house went black friday shopping as there are two giant flat screen tvs sitting in the living room.

One of my sticky traps is moved across the room but nothing is stuck to it except some dust.

Breakfast was an egg-n-provolone sammich on toast - not too bad. My bank account looks really nice right now - my pay was deposited on Tuesday, and today my retirement pay showed up. I’ll enjoy it till the assorted bills come due.

There was a nice surprise in my paycheck - some extra $$$. Apparently, the terms of the contract with the gummint specifies that even tho temp employees don’t get vacation days or other bennies, we have to be paid a certain amount to make up for it. So it was like a bonus - yay for unexpected money! It’s headed for savings, to be spend on my upcoming cruise. Woohoo!!

Eep, apparently my klutzery is contagious… My landlord attempted to defrost the fridge-freezer last night, and accidently stabbed through the side, so now we have all four people’s food crammed into a tiny one-person fridge. Trying to get any food out is like a cross between tetris and jenga, with occasional glass and liquid filled bricks.

I actually didn’t oversleep too badly today, hooray! So I’ve been to the market (I wanted to get some fabric to make a giant squid cushion) and the Chinese Supermarket (I have a tempura seaweed addiction), and generally almost finished the jobs I had for today, and it’s only 2 o’clock. Yay for sensible sleep!

I love the giant squid! I may have to make one for my daughter…

Nuts That GIANT SQUID is really cool, teh cool.

Up, Caffinating and I am going to move today, at least some of it. Woot Woot

That is all I got, back later
