The President's Day MMP

All holy and putting away my history program gear and getting the rollercoaster gear out. Next weekend is a no-coaster where we all get together and plan various park invasions for the coming summer. Since we added a cash bar to the event, the plans are getting more complex in a way that only a lack of sobriety can attain/accomplish.
AHEMfirstAHEM

Deheathenization, ush duty, banner buryin’, and N.O.L. have all been accomplished. Sounds like enough activity for a while to me! Nappage to ensue shortly.

Happy Sunday!

I survived my pill mix ups. I have no idea what in the hell was wrong with my brain last night.
I think it’s the crazy sleep patterns are messing with me.

I had to call ATT last night. My bank gave me a new debit card, the kind with a chip in it and now all my automatic payments are being declined. Thanks M&T. So I called ATT to make the payment and they talked me into going with Direct TV. I’m still not sure about it, or how much money I can save, because they can’t give me the internet connection. So tomorrow I have to call my current cable company, check to see if I am under a contract and if not, if I can cancel the cable and the phone, but still keep the internet and how much will that cost. If they can’t do internet only, there is another company in the area that does internet only.
Sounds like too much work to me, but maybe I’ll feel better about it tomorrow.

I also have to call my medical insurance company because the payment won’t go through and I can’t find the place to update my card information.

Today I am helping Sah-son write responses as to the ethics of 3-parent babies, and the pros and cons of teaching religion in public schools. He has his responses basically done, I’m just proof reading and adding a few thoughts he can expand on.

I read that as the ethics of 3-percent babies and I couldn’t figure out was a 3% baby would be… And I just got my eyes checked!!!

**FCD **is back at his office again. I’ve got the towels in the dryer, and when they’re done, I’m done with laundry. Finally. Mostly, it’s been a quiet, boring day.

21-22ish

Nappage has been achieved. In a while I shall make chikin nachos. Just non-stop excitatement round these parts!

I finished my am irk shift, I need to irk some more this afternoon/evening since I didn’t irk Firday or yesterday.

Sah-son’s homework is done.

Three parent babies (as I understand) is replacing the mitochondria of the bio mother’s egg with the mitochondria on the donor mother’s egg in order to keep from passing on a genetic disease. It is probably a little more complicated than that, but there are some ethical concerns with it.

This weeks religions class was in Sikhism and how sometimes Sikhs are mistaken for Muslims and have been harassed or beat up. I know the difference, but then I studied religion on my own for years. Most of the people in his class had never even heard of Sikhs. So that led to a discussion on whether on not religion should be taught in schools, which everybody in his class is all for until he and I had a discussion and I pointed out some of the problems.

Laundry is done - finally! And I helped my mom with some computer issues, so that was productive. **FCD **is home and napping. I think it’s time for Netflix and afghaning.

I have always been of the opinion that people’s lives belonged to them and not the gummint, but I also believe that suicide is (almost) never the answer. It makes me very sad, even when the person is facing an agonizing death, which I take it wasn’t the case.

I got the whirlybird down and surveyed the damage. Don’t know yet if I’ll be able to effect repairs without major reconstructive surgery. It won’t be today I’m afraid. We’re scheduled to go to a fundraising dinner in a little bit to help a young woman pay her tuition, 'cause that’s what we progressive snowflake libtards tend to do. :dubious:

I had a cravin and a hankering for a Reuben sammich last week and looked for some corned beef in the store. I turns out that I could buy 14 different kinds of ham in the lunchmeat section, but if I wanted corned beef I had to go to the deli, but that’s okay. My store sells Boar’s Head brand deli meats and their corned beef is excellent, if expensive. Anyway, last night we made a corned beef sauerkraut reuben braid. We didn’t exactly follow that recipe, but pretty close. We put in twice as much sauerkraut, for instance. Wifey was concerned that it would make too much. It didn’t survive the night. It was really good. Next time we might sprinkle some caraway seeds in for that deli rye taste, but otherwise, it’s a keeper.

I’ll tell you something about religion in schools. When I was a young’un we were required to recite the pledge of allegiance every morning. When I was in the second grade they added ‘under god’ to the pledge. That wasn’t the way I learned it, and, being somewhat OCD, I refused to say it the new way. Naturally I got in trouble for it.
They weren’t all that nice about it either. I got a very clear understanding of the meaning of ‘might makes right’ at that time. I’ve had a problem with authority ever since. I’m also very firmly in the ‘separation of church and state’ camp.

I am almost done with laundry. Yay!

We are all kinds of lazy though. Nothing much going on. It’s grey and with a mix of snow and rain for another day. Then it’s just rain. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ve got daffodils, crocuses and hyacinths coming up, but nothing has bloomed yet. A few geese heading south, but no big waves of those yet either.

Quiet day, I guess. Might even read a book or two.

I did I don’t know how many loads of laundry and still am not finished. I stripped and remade both beds and cooked. Hubby finally got around to putting together a small dinette set I purchased 6 or 7 months ago. It’s just the right size for the two of us. I am tahred. I still need to unload and reload the dishwasher and take a shower but then I am so done.

The rest will just have to wait. I need one more day off. I may or may not watch the Oscars even though I have not seen any of the movies yet.

Spidey so young. Terrible for his family.

I am sure y’all will be glad to know that the chikin nachos I have been carryin’ on about for three days have finally been made and consumed. We can now put all that behind us. Actually in a few hours OYKW and I will have put it all behind us. I yanked a poke tenderloin outta da freezer for tomorrow night’s dindin. I shall let it do its thang in the slow cooker tomorrow.

Ya know, I do not get why anybody watches any of those awards shows. How boooooooooooooooorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!!!11111

Well fine then, I’ll just talk to myself! We shall now retire to the boudoir to watch teevee until sleepy time. Thus endeth Sunday.

Nitey Nite Y’all!

I did a load of work clothes, and went tailgating. Nice day, but the game sucked. Making Parmesean herb poke chops with sweet **N.O.T.**s and green beans with garlic and Calabrian chillies.

Humanzie?;):dubious:

Dearest sisters, when you’re having a yard sale on Saturday make sure you tell me before Sunday of that week. I guess I’ve gotten all I’m going to get from the house.

This may not be a bad thing. I have as many memories as I need. Plus I got the books. Now if I can get the copy of *Le Morte D’Arthur *with the Beardsley illustrations that I think Oldest Sister swiped, I’ll be golden.

We decided to do dinner out after finding a couple gift cards we had forgotten we had. It was the right choice as neither of us was very inspired to cook.

I finished the stripey afghan - pic on FB - and I’ve started making squares to sew together into another afghan.

I think I’ll build tomorrow’s breakfast and lunch now, then go to bed. Thus endeth the weekend…

I saw the pic. It’s very purty!

I must now decide how to feed the chillun. This has been a lazy weekend. No complaints.

swampy, I’m totally with you on the awards shows. My bestie is into them and they absolutely bore the crap out of me.

We got my friend moved and her and the movers fed, with the added bonus with enough leftovers that she won’t have to cook a couple of days while working during the day and unpacking evenings.

That is a symptom of being goofy.
I doubt that many will take issue with that diagnosis.
