About a week after I first logged into #straightdope chat, Rasa totally out of the blue said “Quix, you’re good people. I hope you stay around for a while.” It probably wasn’t a big deal to hear; just a natural expression of her kindness. It meant a lot to me, though, and I very greatly appreciate you for it, Rasa.
If you get 1/10th of the happiness and success that you deserve, you will be a very happy person indeed. I wish you ALL of the happiness and success you deserve.

Well, I’m an archaeologist by training, adam… by trade I’m a computer geek, unfortunately. One of these days I’ll be Indiana Jones! It’s my dad that knows David Macaulay; they were close friends growing up. He signed my copy of Pyramid with a picture of a big pyramid eating a smaller one. Hee!

Quite simply, let me say that I love Rasa. I know that she has a perfectly WONDERFUL mother of her own, but you may add her to the list of women I fervently wish I had been blessed to have been given to be my daughter.
A long time ago, when I first “met” her, she touched a place in my heart that God was saving just for her. Sometimes I think that she is me, only younger and much more brave.
