The Rasmus- I gotta have more!

I saw a video from them a few days ago and I really liked their music and the song has been roaming around in my head ever since.
Can anyone tell me a bit more about them? Is all their music like In The Shadows? I found one web site that didn’t tell me much except they are touring too far away for me to see.
I was also wondering why they have two versions of the video? One for the UK and one for the States. Neither seem offending. I realise that other countries are a bit more liberal with what get shown on tv, but I can’t figure the need for two videos for this one.

How are the videos different?

In the American version they show a young girl going to a house and being a servant. It’s set a long time ago and the color to it is a brownish color making the footage seem old.
Everytime the girl looks in the mirror she sees reflections of people dancing and The Rasmus playing or, the lead singer looking back at her.
In the end he pulls her through.

In the UK version it shows the band on stage and the filler spots are of the band robbing a bank.

No sex, no violence, I see no real reason to have two videos.

Okay, this is an old thread and not really about a subject that interests me that much, but for some reason, I’m compelled to answer:

There are actually 4-5 albums by Rasmus, though only one, Dead Letters, has ‘made it’ abroads. Others have been modestly popular in Finland. The music’s always been roughly similar, though Dead Letters is a bit more ‘gothy’ than other albums.

Also, there are actually 3 versions of the video - the American version, which Kricket describes, the Finnish version (I guess they’ve shown it in UK, too), where they rob a bank, and European version, where Lauri transforms into a giant raven. I don’t know why there are 3 versions, really, though the Finnish version’s bank-robbing clips are mostly actually taken from (IIRC) a very popular Finnish film of 2003 called ‘Pahat Pojat’ (except the ones where they show the bandmembers’ faces, obviously.

Now I need to see the raven one!
I would love more of their music. I had read that they have been around for a while, but new in the states.
Any ideas on how I get more of their music?
Suck up to some dopers on that side of the globe maybe?

http://platta.net/haku.html?target=art&string=the+rasmus&x=23&y=8 - a Finnish record shop which (should) ship abroad (at least according to their FAQ).

You might want to contact them at info@platta.net and ask about how you can buy the records that way. I’m not sure if it works, but it’s worth a try.
