The Road Trip MMP

blurf off to the horsepistol in a bit but first breakfast.

Here’s hope things are better for you Draelin. Do you have a nickname?

Happy Firday!

Just kidding, it’s still early and the day is already sucky.

Just tired of waking up in the middle of the night, and grumpy because I don’t want to go to the armpit on Sunday and I can’t come up with a good excuse why I shouldn’t.
I feel obligated to go and I know I should, but damn I don’t want to.
If the kid had his license then he could go and I could stay home with the dog.

Sunny - I’ve added Lynx to the list of try-ons, lately I’ve been calling him Ivan. I’ve been through Tommy, Safari, Teddy, Simon, Jerome, Khan, DAC - for DumbAssCat. Today he shall be known as Fasshole because I have had just about enough of his bullshit.
He wants to sit at my feet and for me to pet him. This means I have to bend over to reach him, and then he’ll lay down so I have to bend even further. If I don’t pet him I’ll get some claws in my knee. Then I pick him up and set him on the couch next to me where I can reach him - but NOOOOOOO! he doesn’t want to sit on the couch, he wants to sit at my feet.
Other times he’ll sit just out of reach and meow at me. I have no idea what the hell he wants. He has food, he has water, his litter box is clean, he doesn’t want treats, he doesn’t want to play, and if I ignore him he will come over and swat me.
He’s plucking my last nerve. I have little tiny scabs all over my knees.

{{{Spidey}}} it’s all downhill from here.

Yes it is all downhill from here. I still have the purple toe and it’s sore. So even mysterious things happen once you are old.

**sari **- just sit with your feet on the couch… Yeah, I know, easier said than done. My days of sitting with my feet drawn up close are long gone. Recliner is more my speed.

OK, back to work with me. I’ve distracted myself long enough.

Lots of candy at irk. Time for the annual

:eek::eek::eek:SUGAR RUSH!!!:eek::eek::eek:

Most senior of coworkers just left. He’s been very helpful and I’m going to miss him. Folks are laying bets on how long it’ll be before he sends his resume back here.

I think one of our electrical engineers got tired of me asking for info about their components - he showed me where to find the info on the company network. Yay! So I don’t have to bother him any more.

Best of all, it’s lunch time! C’mon 3:30!!!

I wish I was still young enough and limber enough to sit with my feet on the couch.

I’m thinking I may get a recliner when I buy a new couch.

I’m really annoyed that we didn’t get the yard work finished because the city isn’t picking up yard until the end of February. I have two trees I want cut down, one I need to call the electric company to see if they want to cut the top since it is up in the wires. It’s actually in the neighbor’s yard but I think she doesn’t care what we do out back as long as we don’t cut down any of her flowering bushes - which we wouldn’t. The other tree is coming through the fence There’s also a big branch out back on the neighbor’s parking pad that I want Sah-son to cut up.

I need to get busy.
Too much to do today.

Sari time to start “training” him. He gets pets when you are seated. He gets a “quit that” and a foot stomp (or hissing noise or something to startle him) when you are not seated and/or he’s using his claws on you. It sounds like he’s really bonded to you, so you should be able to bribe him with attention and scritches for appropriate behavior. He might not want to be on the couch now, but if it starts to be the only place he gets the head rubs, he should change his mind. Try calling him over and being ostentatious about rewarding him with lots of positive attention on the couch. Pick him up and put him where you want him, then pet him. Make the contrast between “good” kitty and “bad” kitty extra obvious. You’ve had him long enough that you can/should definitely start correcting poor behavior. Scabs in knee caps qualifies.

Spidey - bummer about the eye exam. Try CostCo, if you’ve got one. Many have optometrists there. Other last minute options might include chains like LensCrafters or those one-hour places at the mall.

Our “new” (to us) Suburban was one of the ones manufactured with phone access ONLY through OnStar. We took it over to a stereo store yesterday and told them we wanted to keep the DVD player (kids in back), rear back up camera, XM radio, OnStar but that we really needed a system that would allow us to pair our phones to the car. They’re putting in a new system that includes CarPlay (Apple) and will keep everything else working. CarPlay looks very cool, so we’re happy about that. It’s costing us several hour delay getting on the road, which is a bummer. We really wanted to have phone pairing though, so this is important.

After we get the 'Burb back, we pack the car and head south for CA. Of course, now it’s snowing and the passes might be closed. Sigh. We may take the Coast road (twice as long but open) or head out tomorrow. Time will tell.

spidey, it makes me wonder what they do for patients who are elderly with no computer or skills to do this online. And, for what it’s worth, :eek:Wally World:eek: has consistantly been my go to for eyeglasses. I’m hard to fit, the optometrists switch every other year (and teach at Vandy the years out of office) at the location in my last town (where I’ll go back in March) and they do a great job fitting me. They’re also easy to get a last minute appointment with when needed.

sari, it sounds like Puddy Tat has you trained.

I worked half a day today. I’m home now and fixing to start a couple of sympathy cards for my cousins (I’ve gone through far too many of those in 2016 :frowning: ). Tonight, SIL, niece and I are going to the hibachi grill.

Happy Christmas eve eve!

I’ll be bailing in about half an hour - the task I’m on is making my eyes cross and I just can’t take it much longer. Tedium on a Firday afternoon before a holiday weekend is not a good thing.

Back from the horsepistol. Hubby got his shot and is napping. He is not supposed to do anything today but can get back at it tomorrow. He says he has no pain.

I have already cooked, it’s simmering. Cube steak and onion gravy, rice, peas and something else. Not sure what the something else will be yet.

TGIF. Yay for three day weekend.

Food Lion was was INSANE!!! But I got everything on my list so I’m ready for my contribution to Christmas dinner.

**FCD **wants to go to Cracker Barrel for supper, so we shall. After we feed the beasts - so in half an hour or so. Then maximum veggage because there will be much chorage tomorrow.

Ho Ho freekin’ Ho!

And a Bah freekin’ Humbug!

**Rio **- you said it!!

Back from Cracker Barrel - I had clam chowder and it was really good. So I have a happy tummy, and later I’ll have some ice cream. Yum. Tin Roof Sundae!

My dad and sister have disappeared. They were sick the last I heard of them, and now they aren’t answering emails or phone calls. I’m beyond terrified and depressed and I just can’t live anymore.

Emily have the police do a welfare check on them.

No, I don’t want to get my family involved with the police. Too many bad experiences in the past that I don’t want to talk about.

Got in touch with my sister. Dad’s in hospital with possible kidney failure.

I started one years and years ago that the wife and I often use during this season -------
Bah - Humf*ck!!!

Hugs heading quickly north to you!
