The Run to Super Bowl Licks (LIX). 2024 NFL playoffs

Buffalo stopped on 4th down with 12:55 left in the game. KC takes over.

Me before the game: people going on and on about referees favoring the Chiefs should just stop.

Me during the game: wtf was that.

I know most people here will categorically deny the possibility of consistent ref bias towards a team, but after a few years of this shit can we admit the refs clearly favor KC more often than not and in particular Patrick Mahomes?

It makes a mockery of the game when defenders are terrified to touch him.

NO SHIT. Definitely biased.

Yeah, I’m thinking the same way.

That and the decision to call a non catch a catch for KC are just a really, really bad look.

Well, on a positive note I just freed up a Sunday.

So its Eagles/Refs for SB.

The bills chiefs game was more nail biting.

Rewatching the 4th and 1 first down call, the ref from the far side of the field that has the better view comes in and spots it in the correct place (for a first down) and the ref from the camera’s side of the field, who couldn’t see it as well, comes in and overrules him and spots it further back.

A fantastic football game, with multiple lead changes, some great play calling, and big names showing up at big times. One for the ages.

And here at the SDMB, it’s bitching about officiating. Par for the course.

You guys know I’m a diehard lifelong Chiefs fan. I thought that, yes, the Chiefs got a couple of calls tonight, the most egregious being the pass reception at the 3-yard line. But if that’s ruled incomplete, KC still has the ball 1st-and-10 at the 24 because of a holding call. It’s not like that call kept a drive alive. And I just watched the TD runs by Mahomes. He took a couple of pretty good shots on each of those.

KC had the ball for three possessions in the 4th quarter: touchdown, field goal, and then two first downs to close out the game. That’s where the game was won.

To be fair, that’s football fandom period.

The Chiefs-Bills game was fantastic. I don’t think the officiating was outrageous - coupla calls could have gone either way.

Right, the Chiefs played very well and seemed to me like the better team overall. It just sours things that the reason they had the ball for that touchdown drive in the first place was that the refs got the fourth down call wrong.

I’m sick of the Chiefs. I don’t want to root for Philadelphia, but that seems to be what I’m doing.

A fantastic game! I was pulling for Buffalo but KC with Mahomes and Reid and Spags was just too good. Josh Allen needs some help, and if he doesn’t get it he may never beat KC. Was Josh Allen born at the wrong time?

And the Chiefs opened at -1½ point favorites as per ➜ FanDuel Sportsbook

As a Giants fan, the Eagles are my most hated team in the league but even I’m rooting for the Eagles. Enough with the Chiefs already. But more so for Saquon Barkley. Just so happy for him, finally not being stuck on a shit team. Definitely would not mind seeing him get a ring.

The Bills got the first down both times - on third-and-short, and also on fourth-and-one - and both times the refs spotted the ball short. The argument for Xavier Worthy having caught that ball was also highly dubious.

The Eagles better put together the performance of their lives in New Orleans. Anything less than a three-score Philadelphia lead in the fourth quarter will give the refs the opening they so desperately crave. In the same way that Brady could never be counted out of the game in the fourth quarter if it was a two-score game, neither can the refs.

WHOOOOO! E A G L E S EAGLES!!!

Sorry I’m late, but this will be the rematch! Bills had it, three chances to score and blipped it.

So glad it was the moron Luvu who had two of the three penalties at their goal line.

Eagles came at them, dominated, etc. they play like that in SB, it’s ours. :sunglasses::eagle:
