The Scheduling Begins: NYC MegaDopefest III -- January 3-5, 2003

I plan on renting a van, or maybe a large car. And the beer I’m truckin’ in should only occupy two or three seats. So YEAH, more’s the merrier. Where are you coming in from again?

I’d be coming in from Ottawa, by bus or by train  Just lemme know when you want to leave, n’ I’m there, man

Alas, we shall not be there Thursday night.

Dammit. No Noo Yawk Korean for me.

I’ll be there with bells on. (jingle jingle). I would not miss the first NY mega dopefest for 2003. I’m sure it will be the event of the winter season!

Damn, you’re right.

Time to make a correction.

…bastards make me wander hip deep into MPSIMS just to respond…

Anyway, I’m there. And most likely on time. CajunMan and the good Doctor still haven’t forgiven me for my stylishly late appearance last year.

:::blush blush:::

Wow. To be thought of as hot is truly flattering. But to be listed with THOSE babes…damn. I’m not worthy.

**Billdo, ** be sure to check your email tomorrow. I’m gonna need a few details. And I’m still quite willing to lend a hand with any brunch setup you may need!

Count me in.

I haven’t been on the boards in a long while due to my move from a DSL apartment to my parents’ dial-up home, but I don’t think I could miss out on MegaFest without regrets. Plus, I should be settled in NYC by then. I spent the last three weeks down there trying to get a job that could get me money that could get me an apartment. Though I had a blast I didn’t get the job, so I’m back home making money with which to give the city another try. I’ve revisited the Grassroots Tavern several times and introduced friends to it and we all love it, so I hope people are up for going there again. Maybe I’ll leave the cheese balls at home though.

Yeah, whatmove!! glad you’re going!

act like a lady, madam!

I’m gonna bust my buns to get to Thursday’s dinner. So leave a place for the ever-lovin’ Dave-Guy.

And, of course, Saturday’s dinner and, since I’ll be sans** Sakura** this time, the bar afterward. Friday is iffy. But I’ve wanted to do NYThursday dinner bunch for a long time and this looks like a good opportunity.

Great snakes, it’s less than two months away!
w00t!

Hold up one cotton-pickin minute there Davey. Whadda you mean you’ll be sansSakura? Who gave you permission not* to bring her? And what about the rest of the DaveFamily?

Well, as it happens, while she was glad to have the chance to attend last year’s megafest, she admitted to feeling a little in over her head. The RenFaire was different, of course, being a smaller group.

Perhaps in the future, when she’s (and we’re hoping mightily) a student at NYU, she’ll feel a little more grown-up, and comfortable with the madness that is a megafest.

As for the rest of the DaveFamily, again, a different element, a different environment. Hosting you all at our house was great (and it will happen again, believe me!), but this is more of a Dave-Guy activity.

I’m afraid you’ll have to take me off the list. I had a good long think and came to conclusion that as much as I want to, I just can’t afford to go after all. It sucks, but I’m sure you’ll all have a fabulous time. Be sure to take lots of pictures so I can be extra-jealous

January isn’t exactly the most pleasant time of year to be travelling to NYC unless you like freezing yer tits off.

I don’t know anyone here so I will be sure to show up at one of the locations and spy on y’all…

heh heh heh.

Well, phoo. :frowning:

Understandable, of course, but a bummer nonetheless. We’ll miss you.

You sure are, woman. Looking forward to seeing you again!

Pen me in. I’m going to at least the Saturday Dinner. This… Will… Rock…

Eh? What’s this? We’ve been robbed of our UK detachment!

Is this because of the U.S.S Constitution sinking all those British frigates in the War of 1812?

I knew that would come back to haunt us.

Sorry you can’t come Fran.

Thanks, RT! Looking forward to seeing you again, too!

Still don’t have my ticket yet, but I talked to my travel agent this afternoon. Prices are still reasonable. I’ll probably end up flying in to LaGuardia and flying out of JFK, but seeing as how they’re both in NYC, that’s not exactly a problem.

And is it too early to be geeked out of my mind about this?

Geek all you want, doll.

I’m not exactly behaving like someone from a Jane Austen video serialization on AMC, myself.
