This thread started out with a simple wonderment: “Are they really getting rid of the paper money from the Monopoly game?” Since our M.O. is fighting ignorance, I decided to point out this is not true- the electronic banking edition is a seperate game. Most of the thread to that point was commenting on how boring Monopoly is (which I disagree with, but I’m not out to change people’s opinions), then it went back to the main subject.

Barbarian (whose comment I misinterpreted) and Malacandra (who came in late) are exempt from this, but the rest of the misinterpreters aren’t. This reminds me of one of those e-mail forwards for some stupid cause that isn’t actually happening. There’s no need to save Monopoly- it isn’t going anywhere.
No offense. But, I really think you should calm down. Just because you don’t like playing Monopoly with the cash doesn’t make the rest of us Luddites because we do. I for one will not take this change sitting down.
Sorry, mobo85, I’m going to repay your kindness in exempting me from criticism by pointing and laughing. It was obvious that the readership got the point and were making out they didn’t for a few grins at your expense. My post was intended to join in.
You see, you said in big letters that the classic Monopoly game isn’t being discontinued, so in response to that, Tenebras pretended to not see your post and say it was being discontinued.
Wait, no more paper money in Monopoly? Can’t we talk to our reresentatives about this or something? I am going out later and buying all the old paper money Monopolys I can find and I am gonna make a mint on eBay.
Did you just have to start this? This is the kind of thread that pisses off the mods and brings all the trolls out of the woodwork. This is going to go for more than six pages. It will span every topic from circumcision to Democrats. Two people will be banned, and at least one sock will rise up to commandeer a full page before anybody realizes what’s going on. Couldn’t you have just sent an e-mail to each mod? It only takes a few minutes to track down each one’s address and compose a sufficiently general complaint.
