Haven’t been on the SDMB much the last week or so, so I just caught up on about 100 posts in this thread. My vote for the playoffs, if the matter hasn’t been decided, is 8 teams, weeks 14, 15, 16.

Just looking for insights, here’s our Fantasy team picked last night:
QBs: McNair, Brees
RBs: Portis, C. Martin, Buckhalter
WRs: Moulds, D. Stallworth, P. Price, Boerigter, Thrash
K: Elam
Def: NY Giants
There are twelve teams with twelve players each. Starters are 1 QB, 1-3 RBs, 1-3 WRs (total of 4 RBs and WRs), 1 K, 1 Def.
You can use TEs as WRs, but don’t have to carry one. I was surprised at how many TEs were selected yesterday, maybe 7 or so, when usually it’s T. Gonzalez and J. Shockey.
Any opinions? I thin that depending on how McNair weathers the season and how the RB situation develops in Philly, we could have an excellent team. I should also point out that our scoring favors TDs scored from far away, so WRs can rack up points much more quickly than RBs, although they do tend to be a bit more erratic.

You should try to deal for some RBs toot sweet. Or pick them off the wire. Thrash should be your first victim. Take a gamble on one of the Chicago backs, LaMont Jordan or Marcell Shipp. Having the option to start 3 RBs means that you pick 3 RBs to start.

I vote for 4 team playoffs as well.
NC, if you want the offer e-mails, go into your team profile (at the VERY top of the league page), and click on the league e-mail updates. Yahoo doesn’t send anything extraneous, just updates on when trades go through, your waiver claims are processed or denied and when trades are offered to you.
NC, I rejected your counteroffer…you’d have been really taking me to the cleaners with that one.

I have a problem…
I had all the slots filled in my league, and the draft went well. After the draft I noticed that I had chosen the starting lineups incorrectly- Yahoo was playing all my players, including the bench. It was my stupid mistake. I created a new league (I had to drop my team in Osip’s league) and everybody but one player signed up for the new league, which I configured correctly this time.
Since I can’t dissolve the old league now, the last player can’t sign on with a new team- Yahoo won’t let him. So I’m stuck with an extra team, and I need someone to sign up today so that I can enter the drafts and start the season.
Here’s the team:

RB- M. Faulk, Portis, W, Green, Jordan
WR- Holt, Boston, Mason, Rogers
TE- Stevens, Lewis, Manumaleuna

Yahoo won’t let him in? Why, is he full with 4 teams? Just have him create another Yahoo ID. Bit of a pain to have to switch IDs to access that league, but it’s better than sitting out. And as a bonus he gets to join 3 more leagues. 
That’s a monster team, btw. Must be 8 or fewer players?
Shibb, I mostly agree with El Muncho on your team (too bad about Tiki, especially with the custom rules about long-distance TDs, of which C-Mart will score 0 this season). Mcnair will be super, your only flaw is at RB depth, but (and this is where I disagree with der Munchenheimer) depending on how well you’re rewarded for long TDs, your WRs are built. Stallworth and Price are both fast, downfield guys, and Moulds will score a lot himself. Depending on matchups I wouldn’t be surprised to see you start all three of them along with Portis on a given week.

Like have keepers so that the league doesn’t end when the season’s over? If that’s not enough, we could have a special boobie prize for the 5th place guy that misses the playoffs. Personally I think if we’re going to have a proper keeper league it’s better to keep the playoffs small to reward teams that excel in the regular season. But I really don’t have a strong opinion. You can change my vote to .5 votes in favor of 4 teams so that in case it comes down to a tie there won’t be a problem.
My main preference is to make sure that whatever happens, we’re not playing in Week 17. Looking back I see that’s not being considered so I’m sure I’ll be happy either way. There’s only one winner anyway, so however the rest of you guys want to work out the spots from 2 on down is fine with me.
I’m sorry to tell you this Dave, but you’re just digging your own grave – the more you make fun of me now the worse it’ll look for you when I send you packing Week 1. If I were you I’d be praising my team now, to soften the blow.
