The Second Stone is a piece of shit

Any trauma to the head can cause a concussion. All concussions are serious medical conditions and can cause long term neurological damage if not properly treated, and for all neurologists know, maybe even if properly treated.

You would thank that a 5 mph car crash would be harmless to virtually everyone involved in all circumstances. You would be wrong. You can have serious injury and even death in a low speed collision. General Patton died as the result of a very low speed collision, and serious injury is common in low speed impacts.

The original question is whether Mr. Rice should have thrown a punch. Some say no, not under the circumstances here and there is no question over which reasonable people may differ. Others, like me, say it isn’t that clear-cut, look at the video. Does he have a right to punch in self-defense? One side says under no circumstances may a man defend himself against a woman, including this incident. I disagree.

Sure, if by “lucid” you mean “didn’t hit the broad sign of a barn.”

Which isn’t generally what I mean by lucid, but I’m no prescriptivist!

He’s a Giraffe that can type, form sentences and surf the internet. That is amazing all by itself. That you expect him to not be full of bullshit and do better than fling poo like a zoo monkey kind of misses the point that HE’S A TALKING GIRAFFE!!!

Now you’re contradicting yourself. You don’t need a tattoo. You have flies following you and you smell like shit. What else do you need?

Aw, you’re trying real hard, aren’t you?

Uh, “didn’t hit the broad sign of a barn” is not an expression, but thanks for the nonsensical collection of words. It doesn’t surprise me that you don’t grasp what “lucid” means. Or maybe you’re attempting to be clever by garbling the expression on purpose? I don’t know and I don’t care. Either way, a complete fail.

**can’t hit the broad side of a barn

Have very poor aim. For example, That rookie can’t hit the broad side of a barn, let alone strike anyone out or, as put in The New Republic (February 19, 1990): “Their missiles couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn.” This hyperbolic term, dating from the mid-1800s, at first denoted poor marksmanship. Around 1900 it also began to be used in baseball, for a pitcher with poor aim.**

But thanks for playing. Another piece of shit for the price of one pitting.

Or a typo, possibly from typing on a phone. Hmm, which could it be.

Oh, and based on the particular opinion shown in the OP, TSS is indeed a piece of shit in my judgement as well. Self-defence should involve a proportional response.

Um, did she write “Can’t hit the broad side of a barn”? 'Cuz I’m pretty sure it was “didn’t hit the broad sign of a barn”, which, AGAIN, is not an expression. And even if she HAD used the expression correctly, it refers to aim, not to whether a question does or does not make sense.

But thanks for playing. Loser.

Can’t hit the broad side of a barn, didn’t hit the broad side of a barn, what’s the fucking difference? If you aimed for the broad side of the barn and missed, you didn’t hit it. Past tense, troll.

“That pitcher couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn.” < - makes sense

“That question didn’t hit the broad side of a barn.” <- nonsensical

Oh, you called me a troll, so I guess you win. :dubious: The difference is English vs. random collection of words.

So clever. Think that up in 3rd grade, did you?

Yup. Too bad you never got that far.

Complete and utter bullshit, fashioned into a mannequin.

The video was too jerky for me to see the punch, but what struck me was the callous way Rice drags his fiancée out of the elevator and drops her face-first. Even if the punch was in “self-defense”, the treatment while she was knocked out was disgusting.

But I want to Pit Second Stone – for having a user-name too similar to Sam Stone. That latter Stone is the one I want to Pit.

(Hey Sam! When are you going to publish your astounding result that market forces can defeat Braess’ Paradox? I challenged you to Put up or Shut up; did you choose Shut up? What a pretentious twit.)

I think it says more about your reading comprehension than anything. My dad holds numerous opinions I disagree with, and I don’t think he’s a shitty person. A lot of people do, but I don’t think they’re shitty people. You think a grown man is justified in knocking his fiance out with little to no provocation. That’s what makes me question your character.

Perhaps if the Ray Rice video in question were game footage, and we were debating whether or not he stepped out of bounds at the 7, you’d have a point.

‘Worthless’ is your word, not mine.

Honestly, it sounds like your trying to convince yourself of something here, not me.

Honestly, I do apologize for calling you a shitty person. I have no recollection of ever encountering you outside this Pitting, so I don’t know you more than what you posted in that other thread and this one. These posts of yours about Ray Rice though? Well, you’re acting like a shitty person. Continuing to vociferously defend a huge man who knocked out an unarmed woman that was swatting at him in self-defense with one arm is a shitty thing to do; it doesn’t say much about your character.

I think Ray Rice is an asshole, but at least I recognize that he’s human. You call him an “it” a “living thing” incapable of thought and reflection, reacting only by instinct?

Yes. And I’ll tell ya, it creeps me the fuck out that you can tell. GET OUTA MY HEAD!!!

Huh. Shitty and dishonest. What a twofer.

The First Stone was a lot better. I miss him.
