Howdy Y’all! We deheathenated (I completed ush duty with no major mishaps, so I say it’s a win)and then had brunch. Obviously I am not at the Blessin’ of The Animals as that’s goin’ on as I post. Tummy feels a little funny so I decided it best to stay at da cave and close to a bathroom for a while. Sometimes it just be that way.
red sometimes when I cook I think I should get a certificate of appreciation or a gold star. On a few occasions perhaps a ribbon that says “you tried.”
MetalMouse looks like Tropical Storm/Hurricane Michael might be comin’ for a visit on Wednesday or Thursday. We shall see.
That’s one reason why theres a bag fee in CA………. it was ridiculous when you did monthly shopping and had 30 bags when you had 10-15 items ,
And the "bag it your self " places bags being so weak you needed 5 bags just to hold some meat ……..
around here people were doing the bring your own thing before the law happeed ……
Took a pill this afternoon. Slept for about an hour. Reanimating myself now with coffee, and then I have to go buy some food.
They encourage you to bring your own bags at my local supermarket, and I do. The grocery baggers are pretty insistent on packing your bag for you, so I let them, and then I re-pack everything because I want it done in a certain way. Takes longer, but it’s easier for everyone. I’m not saying the baggers are incompetent, it’s just that I like to pack certain items in my backpack (and how I like the items packed changes with every shopping trip - hope I don’t sound like an asshole when I say this.)
emily, I carry my own bags too. I put a bag on the belt, then everything I want in that bag, then the next bag, etc. Unless I get a clueless cashier (like Friday) we’re both happy.
I fixed hoisin chicken, Thai peanut sweet potato noodles with broccoli and Asian cucumber salad for supper. Tis good.
& here I thought there was a different reason you didn’t go to the blessing of the Aminals; does that mean you really are an aminal & not a human bean?
Feel better, too.
I’m pretty insistent that they don’t pack my stuff, at least the first bag or two (cold stuff). I know how to use my hips…I usually win. ::check::
The cold stuff needs to be put away rather quickly so I want that all in one or two bags. The stuff that doesn’t need temperature storage sometimes doesn’t get put away for a while, especially iffn I’m in a hurry to do something/go somewhere else when I get home. I also hate when they put paper in plastic (if I’m coming from somewhere & didn’t bring my own). Doesn’t give you the strength of dual paper, nor does it let you carry a lot of bags like just plastic does.
I’ll start tomorrer moaning.
Pretty much an indoor day except for a visit to Longhorn Steakhouse. Tried out the range this evening and it seems to work OK. Also put 3 boxes of stuff back the their drawers (or else in the garbage–amazing what you collect in drawers over time).
swampy, hope it’s just a passing attack and not the runs (obscure tackleball punnage). And hope the storm isn’t too bad.
Midget, If it’s less than 10 items I self-check and pack; otherwise I let the folks at the cash register do most of the work. I do try to line up my stuff on the belt in some order so things will go together, like all the frozen foods go through at the same time.
Good wishes to all y’all and I’ll catch you on Moanday.
N.C. State hockey team won 3 times, Canes won twice, N.C. State and Wisconsin football teams both won, Packers…um. At least my red teams won this weekend. I’m gonna crash, been going nonstop since Friday.
My Microsoft wireless mouse won’t work. But the wireless keyboard does.:dubious:
