It’s always excitatin’ to attempt to start a new MMP. One never knows if someone else is doin’ the same thing as one posts. I am all twitterpatted! Anywho, Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 73 Amurrkin out and partially cloudy although I can see the moon with a predicted high of 93 and a sixty percent chance of rain/tstorms/apocalypse this afternoon. Again, we shall see. The big plan to day is to defilthyfy da cave as is my usual Moanday wont. Dindin shall be salmon patties, English peas (that’s what we call those little green peas in the southern USofA), smashed N.O.T. and bizkits partly due to the fact that’s easy to make and partly due to the fact I have a gnawin’ and a cravin’. I should iron some shirts but that remains to be seen whether or not that will happen.
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants sustenance. Then, I suppose I should begin the process of defilthyfycation. Rah.
First! It is even more exitipating waiting for someone else to start the MMP because otherwise it would probably be me nearly every week since I live in your future
I am at irk, and irked as usual. We are still camping out in the student computer hub while our office is purtified. It should be finished by Friday as that’s when IT have been told to come and reconnect all the PCs and whatnot. They’d better reconnect my whatnot, else I will be very unhappy.
It’s all of 19 UK degrees outside today, bit gloomy and we have a 30% chance of anything from light drizzle to apocalyptic thunderboomers depending on which weather forecast you look at. I don’t know what colour the sky is today 'cos I can’t see any from in here. My view is the side of our building, but not the side where our office is so I can’t even wave to the brickies.
Who the heck was mooning **swampy **so early on a Moanday morning???
I’m bracing for a heat wave - they’re talking upper 90s and mega-humidity by Thursday, and I am not impressed. Blech. But the building is air conditioned, and so is the house, so there’s that.
They claim that Rammstein burned down Viveiro in last friday’s concert: no siree, I was there and all they burned was a lot of gasoline and a lot of fireworks!
Thursday’s big number had been Dropkick Murphys. I just couldn’t resist the combination… when I saw those two were going to be in this year’s Resu I decided I’d be vacationing in Galicia in early July, short of sudden apendecectomy Please remind me: why do people expect middle-aged women to like nothing but ballads?
It’s a nice 61 degrees outside, so I have the windows open for a bit. It’s supposed to go up to 89 later today, I’m enjoying the cool while I can.
An added bonus is that it keeps the cat amused so he is not bugging non-stop for attention.
Is there a crumb under your comma key Swampy?
Nothing special going on today.
I have 6 weeks to puppy proof the house, but there really isn’t that much to do. The biggest job will be picking up all the cat toys that a puppy shouldn’t chew.
I think the Purple Heart is coming to collect at the neighbor’s house this week. I have to check with her, and if so I’ll gather up some stuff to donate. I tried calling them myself and they say they don’t pick up in this area, yet she got a card saying they will be in the neighborhood this week. Maybe the card was from something else.
I sometimes get all nostalgic for the days when GT kept track of who was who which week; at least when I am considering starting things off.
Any other time it could be me but I don’t do early most days. Mondays most of all.
Arms are a little crispy from yesterday. Not having had much sun this summer they sprta fried. Not to read some and start thinking about work.
My late MILs cure for things like that was amputation. Of course that was also her solution for headaches and everything else so we tended to ignore her.
I’ve been at work a little over an hour and I’m already bored. It’s not that I have no irk, I just don’t wanna. Ariel was NOT a star at the show. She refused the first jump twice, and crashed into the second one, launching poor Megan. However, Megan does track and field, specifically pole vaulting, so she landed on her feet. Just like a James Bond ejector seat. Megan and Ariel are fine. My pride is a bit bruised though.
Today I have cleaning ladies (huzzah!) and the puppy has her first vet check. Pepper was nice enough to sleep until 6:15 today, which was quite civilized.
They’re better than chip-&-seal, or the Jersey version, just dump some piles on the ground every so often. Spread 'em out? What’s that? I still have the scar to prove it, too.
Whatever happened to Ms. M.I.A.?
Why? You’re [del]a drain on society[/del] retired. Just hike the pants up a bit higher, like the old man you’re supposed to be & no one will notice because there won’t be enough shirt showing.
…at the neck.
I was out on a new (to me) trail yesterday. There’s a cat passed out in the shade right by the edge; looked at me but otherwise didn’t move much as I went past. I do a couple of miles, turn around, & he’s still by the edge when I come back. I bend over & “Wspspsp” to it. It gets up, stretches, including a couple of full claws into the dirt stretches, then comes over to me, where I give some skritches. It then proceeds to walk about a foot where it flops over, onto it’s back, right in the middle of the trail. Ummm, I don’t know this cat, it seems friendly, but it doesn’t even have a collar on. I know of people who own cats (some right here) who have the cat decide it’s had enough belly skritches by sinking it’s claws into the skritcher’s hand. I start to walk away but decide that’s rude as I didn’t say goodbye so I turn back to it & call it. It gets up & comes over to me again & once again flops down in the middle of the trail, but this time on its side so I can safely (for me) continue to give it skritches.
If I could be assured of getting a dog-cat, that comes when it’s called & likes interaction I’d get one. All the playfulness of a dog & you don’t need to come home early to let it out. However, I’m afraid of ending up with one of those brats that only comes near you when it’s time to be fed.
P.S. Mooommm, iffn you still have extra yarn, you could do a yarn bombing.
Yamaha had a tent (the instruments business, not the bikes business) and they would have these sort of mini-concerts from the small-name groups. I’ve just found out that a French group I’d liked a lot in the mini-concert won the “Professionals Award”. They’re called Heart Attack; at one point one of them grinned and gestured “open up that pit!” to the guys who were watching in the center of the public. The guys giggled, opened up and started moshing Getting a mosh pit going when the crowd is only two dozen people oughta give some sort of award too. I did miss their actual concert because I was busy napping like mad to recover from the two nights of almost no sleep.
Da cave is spiffed. Go Me! I ordered a new computer desk cause I’m gettin’ rid of this big one I have now. I know someone who wants it and will come get it so that’s all good. Anywho, I intended on puttin’ the new desk together (nice mission style and perfect for what I want and real wood) and discover cracks in both side panels. I called customer service to order replacements and am told this will take four to five business days. This did not make me happy so I have gone to their website and expressed my extreme disapproval on their quality control and what I feel is an unacceptable length of time to wait on replacement parts especially since this is due to very poor quality control and manufacturin’ on their part. May not do any good but made me feel better.
Oh and the shirts that need to be ironed all now all neatly arranged in the laundry room. This is an important first step that may even eventually lead to them bein’ ironed.
Howdy All! Was I missed? I have been super busy today with people. I have interviews tomorrow so I have been calling folks and getting that all set up. I had drop in visit from my niece’s folks. Always good to see them. Just now having a bowl of diet soup for N.O.L.
Everyone is getting new puppies except me. We are celebrating Lucky Louie being two years cancer free so it’s almost as good. When I had that diagnosis two years ago I did not think I would have a dog by Christmas and here we are two years later. Where does the time go?
OK gotta think about tidying up my desk and getting ready to go home here in the next hour. I started binge watching The Poldark’s on Amazon yesterday and I can’t wait to get back to it. It is pretty good.
