The settlers MMP

I was so hard asleep when the alarm went off, dammit! I thought about staying in bed while **FCD **headed off to work, but no dice. As soon as my bladder forced me to become vertical, that was it. So I’m up, I’m breakfasting, and I’m about to order my lawnmower. Good times.

Happy Thursday!!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis <snerk> 69! <snerk> Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 89 and maybe rain. Or not. The weather forecast is all willy-nilly today.

{{{gt}}}!!! Come back and play some more!

You take two Baptists fishin’ with ya so they won’t drink the beer.

I have no idea if the local Tar-jay sells beer or not. I am mad at the local Tar-jay so I don’t shop there. The place is full of thieves, jackasses, and probably horse thieves and revenoors.

Ok, that’s all I got. I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants sustenance. Then, alas and alack, irk purtification must commence. I get to do some “on-line learnin’” today amongst other things.

Happy Thursday Y’all!

I don’t go to Tar-jay because their prices are redonk, but your store sounds like more fun!

I’ve only wandered into Tar-jay a handful of times in my life, and every time, I say “Never again!” Maybe it’ll stick this time. Frankly, if it wasn’t for getting gift cards for certain people, my lifetime visits would be halved.

Lawnmower ordered - I should be able to pick it up today at Lowe’s. Anybody want a mower that kinda, sorta works?? Free!!

Happy Thorsday!

Looks like rain.

I just looked at my Amazon packing slip and this is the second time I’ve ordered something on Amazon only to find out it’s from walmart.
If I wanted shit from walmart I’d order off their web site.

Up, caffeinated, working closing shift tonight.

I like Tar-Jay. Maybe because around here, Wally World attracts the thieves, jackasses, horse thieves, and revenoors.

Target stores came to Canada and then they closed them all down. :frowning:

Must get back to work on the music arrangement. It’s almost finished.

not too mention all those fashion-plates walking around the store

I’ve got my new mower. It will remain in the truck till **FCD **gets home, since the box is too large for me to get my arms around it, plus it weighs between 75# and 100# according to the be-careful-how-you-lift warning on the box. Not that I intended to mow today anyway.

I also put some gas in the truck. $50 almost filled it, which ain’t too bad. It wasn’t that long ago when one fill-up set me back $107!! Big truck, big tank, but even with its awful mileage, it’s cheaper than buying and insuring another vehicle. Maybe I should get a pony and go semi-Amish…

People of Wal-Mart NSFW, the elderly, small children, and people with heart conditions.:smiley:

Yeah, but we were warned about it. Problem is only me and a couple of the other bikers really prepared ourselves for it. Looking way ahead in traffic is second nature to us.

HOWDY ALL from irk. My lead is on vacay so it’s just me and one other poor soul for the next week. Of course Lucky Louie is here too but he just sleeps.

MMMOOOOMMMM What did the Dr say about the shoulder?

OK back to the grindstone.

I have learned that I hate, despise, and really, really, really don’t like on-line trainin’. Then again ‘tis better than sittin’ in a room with somebody goin’ on and on and on. I can mute the sound and just read along. Still, ICK!

**Butters **- it’s not my rotator cuff, it’s probably just an inflammation, but it could also be a bone spur. I’m to do Naproxen twice a day and ice it, and she gave me an order for PT. I really don’t want to mess with PT, so I’m going to look on line for some exercises and try that for a bit. Worst case is going to an orthopedist, but I don’t think I’ll have to go that far.

Getting old sucks.

No wally world for me, hate the place.
No tar-jay either, been there a few times and wasn’t worth the trip.

Swampy You should irk for the Feds. Online training every time you turn around. MMMMOOOMMM Good it’s not the rotator cuff. I had surgery for mine a few years ago and though it is better than it was it is not good as new.

We don’t have a wally world or a target within 150 miles of home. We are getting a wally world next year though. It’s all online shopping if you can’t find whatever you need at K-Mart, Sears or Home Depot.

**Butters **- where will the new WalMart be? Surely not on Key West?

And, speaking of on-line training - have you done the hokey on-line POSH training? It’s always so bad and unrealistic!! Same with the anti-terrorism training: don’t get a hotel room on the ground floor, check under your rental car for bombs, and when the SEALS come to rescue you from the terrorists who have you trapped in your hotel room, just lie on the floor till they tell you it’s safe. See, I remember!!!

I’ve arranged for the carpet stretchers to come tomorrow - once they de-lump our carpet, I’ll break out the new shampooer and make 'em all clean and purdy! I’d like for them to last at least another 5 years - they’re 10 years old already.

I’m waiting for calls back from the gutter cleaners and the chimney/stove cleaners.

The new WalMart will be about 7 miles up the road on Rockland Key. It’s the only place with enough land. WalMart has agreed to include some workforce housing in the plan as well. I am mixed about it. I hope it will have a grocery store but I don’t really need a bunch of Chinese junk. There is a Face Book page for folks to bitch and argue over it.

edit. yes on all the training you mentioned. it’s the exact same. IA was the latest one. As a supervisor I get to do even more than the average employee…

We have 'lectricity, running water, & indoor plumbing, but no booze in our Tar-jay’s. Welcome to Pee-Aay; home of the most effed-up licker laws! :frowning:
However, Tar-jay is infinitely classier than Wally World (though that ain’t saying much).

Iffn you got a goat it coulda hopped down from twuck bed all on it’s own & already be working on shortenin’ the grass for you.
As a bonus, you could forgo the pony & still be ¼-Amish.

I came into irk early today; started reading my emails when I uttered the name of a certain famous Jewish carpenter. Great-grandboss heard me & asked what was up. Seems I was assigned online training less than one week ago (which I was not notified of), it’s not due to be completed until mid-Oct, but yet I got a dunning notice that it’s overdue & I haven’t done my assigned work. :smack:
GGB then informs me that not only is he copied on my notices, but he also gets them for people who haven’t even started yet! :smack: :smack: :smack:

Louie is the cutest dog ever. (Higgs too, of course. And Gordie. Did I miss any?)

We had our water heater fixed yesterday, and it didn’t actually cost us anything, so yay.

I think I’ll go have a shower, and I hope there won’t be a thunderstorm while I’m in the shower.

Finished a music arrangement. Now I’m working on another.
