The Shield returns tonight!

The 7th and final season of Vic Mackey’s misadventures in Farmington District airs tonight at 10pm on FX.

Everyone ready for another season of hard takedowns? Ready to see Vic Mackey get what he deserves? Who will live? Who will go down in a blaze of glory? Who will be relegated to the dustbin of forgotten plot lines?

The anticipation is almost painful… this show is like sweet butter!

When the show premiered, I watched the first two episodes. Pretty impressive, but somehow it didn’t keep me watching. Is it worth catching up with six seasons on DVD?

It’s a pretty impressive show at times, and I have to say that the ending of season 5 was a jaw dropper. It’s certainly worth the time investment. I can’t wait to see how it all ends!

Well, the end of the very first episode was a jaw dropper – really didn’t think they were going that far, that fast. I’m intrigued, now. Think I’ll watch it after I watch “The Wire”. Thanks!

We love this show but it’s on too late for little ol’ me so I haven’t been following. Mr. K says all of them must die. He doesn’t see any other way for it to end. I’m really going to try to watch these final episodes. But if you hear snoring during the airing of the show, it’s prolly me.

Thank you for posting this. I had no idea and would have missed it. I’ve been waiting for years, it seems.

I can’t wait, so many loose ends need tying up, I’m glad its finally back.

Loved this show, but think I’ve lost touch a bit. What was the series that ended with
(spoiler just in case Baldwin gets the 6 series DVD set)

Lem gets offed by Shane in the car with a grenade

That series was tough to beat, and I think I was a bit disappointed with the next one. How far am I behind?

As far as I can recall you are up to date. If not than I missed one too.

No, that was the end of season 5. Season six dealt with

Shane trying to keep that a secret but Vic found out. Also Shane spilled the beans to the Armenians about who robbed the money train. The last episode had Shane kidnapping Vic’s family in order to protect them from an Armenian hit man.

Well, I guess this thread can serve as the discussion of tonight’s episode as well.

That hour just flew by! This episode reminded me that I really, really hate Shane’s wife.

I think there was a lot of plot packed into this first episode; hopefully, next week will go more in depth into a couple of stories instead of having several mini plots.

Ronnie’s action in that hotel dropped my jaw. Vic has definitely been a huge influence on him. He seemed very shaken though, even through the end of the episode.

A great start to the final season.

Sorry for the double post. The board update has things kinda buggy on my end.

With all of the quality original programming on FX, this is my favorite. Do it.

Mind you, it is extremely gritty and adult, but worth it if you can handle that.

Great show! I can’t wait to see how things turn out for everyone.

I really enjoy this show and have watched up to the end of Season 5. It’s not as complex as The Wire but is generally very well written, visceral and visually striking.

The hotel scene was just…holy crap. I missed a lot of it, but I’m glad I caught the graphic awesomeness that was the hotel scene.

I’ve always seen Mara as Shane’s potential downfall because she’s smart enough to piece things together but not smart enough to keep her mouth shut. Antagonizing Vic is not a good move.

Being away from this show for so long, I wasn’t ready for the violence. I watched a few minutes of Vic kicking the crap out of Shane, and that’s all I could take. I like the drama, and the characters, but I’d have to watch the PG-rated version. Dammit. What’s wrong with me?

<sigh> half a year’s wait (going by previous form) till we get it in the UK. Worth the wait I’m sure though.
