The Simpsons "I'm in danger"

There is a popular meme that references Ralph Wiggum saying, with ignorant positivity, “I’m in danger!”. I saw today that this line actually appeared in a Family Guy episode that crossed over with the Simpsons called Simpson Guy.

It is definitely true the line appears in that FG episode. You can find the clip easily, but I am absolutely positive that it’s a reference to the same line being said by Ralph in an older Simpsons episode. Am I crazy? Is it really just from the Family Guy episode and I am misremembering? I am so sure I heard this line long long ago and I very rarely watched Family Guy. Does anyone else remember?

Nope, it’s from the crossover, period.

(Yes, the Mirror is shit. But it’s true.)

That’s not a quote I remember for Ralph.

This is one of those things that I’m learning for the first time in this post despite seeing most episodes of each show up to a point, but I’m not exactly “shocked.” Just slightly thinking “huh, that is weird.”

For the record, it’s clearly the Berenstain Bears because that’s how my teachers pronounced it.

Ralph says a lot of things.

“I like men, now!”

The quote wasn’t from The Simpsons? That’s unpossible!

Woah I’m seriously doubting reality here. This is a real Nelson Mandela effect situation. I would have put any amount of money on this being from an early-ish Simpsons episode.

Nelson Muntz, surely.

And I had no idea it wasn’t bona fide Simpsons.

I would have said it wasn’t Simpsons. Ralph stupid things, not accurate things.

Like the sage said, that’s unpossible.

See, this is why we should hate kids!

They let me down, man. Now I don’t believe in nothin’ no more.

This is the first time I’ve heard about this and was immediately puzzled by the idea of it. I know Ralph Wiggum never said this in the first 15+ seasons and no catch phrases seem to have caught on from more recent seasons.

I’m Idaho!

“Oh boy, sleep! That’s where I’m a Viking!”.

“My cat’s breath smells like cat food!” is the iconic Ralph line for me.

“I’m in danger” does not sound like a Simpsons line for Ralph at all. It totally sounds like a Family Guy line.

Also “I bent my Wookie”. Both from the same episode. (Lisa’s Rival, guest-starring Winona Ryder.)

Go banana!

(Principal Skinner is handing out failing interim reports): “Ralph Wiggum.”

“I won! I won!”

Hi, Lisa. Hi, Super Nintendo Chalmers.
