The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I missed two of the 4th tasks so far but according to this table in the link below, I am on track.

I just got the money pool this morning and Burns swimming in it is one of the funniest things that I’ve ever seen.

a few (working from the bottom up) expect a friend request from the friendly and devilishly handsome blg1538

Burns in the money pool is the best. I love it.

I’ve missed several of the 4th tasks, but I’m way over the “where you need to be today” mark, so I don’t sweat it too much. I’m not getting up at 3am my time (midnight EA time) to earn 400 emblems. So while I’m annoyed at EA for making getting all four tasks done nearly impossible for most people every day, it’s still a do-able event. It’s like they just can’t help being dicks for no good reason.

Just FYI, but finishing Lisa and Bart’s quest line earns you 20 donuts.

A bit off subject, but how much do you think the guy that runs TSTO friends earns by running that website?

Of all the sites out there, that one is the strangest. The guy that runs it calls himself the Cranky Old Guy. Based on what I’ve read about him and his picture, he is in his 50’s. He is WAY too into this game. So there has to be some financial enticement for him to keep blogging each day. They have ads on the site, but I have no idea how ad revenue works, how the amount charged for each ad is determined, etc. but he claims to have a real career, so he has to be making some decent scratch from this page.

When I read his blog, I think about a middle aged guy with a family and it just doesn’t compute. Yeah, you can enjoy this game at any age if you are a fan of the Simpsons, but would you get so excited as to type things like “THIS IS THE BEST UPDATE EVER!” and “EA IS LISTENING TO US!” ?

Caps and bold and italics are all over-used for emphasis by the COG.

the site does have some good info on it, so it is not totally useless. It just strikes me as stranger than the other sites, which seem to be run by younger fans of the game, and their “excitement” seems more credible… Just as strange, but credible.

I wondered who that devilishly handsome person was!:stuck_out_tongue:

Amen and you are not the only one to notice. That dude isn’t just Cranky Old Guy, he’s kind of Creepy old guy.

He even wrote a book about the game you can get on Amazon.

It’s hard to put my finger on what makes him odd, but it might be his over the top writing style and crazy enthusiasm.

Well there’s two of them but yeah. They started out on another site tstotips.com and contributed there until there was a huge stink where it got bought out by a company that was going to get you donuts at a discount. The original site owner had good intentions but couldn’t keep up, apparently, yadda yadda yadda, now it’s gone and they moved over to their own site.

What gets me is they speak about the “classic” days of TSOTips like it was some hallowed institution that was gone too soon. That site was around for just a year or so. I’ve got T-shirts that are easily 20 years older than that site.

Yeah it was nice and now it’s gone.

He’s just as energetic when he’s unhappy. He hated the Easter update passionately.

I’ve read here for a long time but nothing prompted me to register until this stupid game. My Origins login is erinbrooks16 if anyone wants to add me. I have plenty of open friend slots.

Just sent one, Wino.

New updates just dropped. Itchy and Scratchy studios and new FP prize.

I wasn’t paying as much attention as I could have, but it sure seemed that the I&S factory produced a metric ton of XP when it finished.

Most of the new buildings do. It’s the only benefit for them now costing nearly a million bucks each.

I’m fairly sure it was over 100k. The dialog for this level and the Stonecutters is really good.

I just dumped a bunch of non-players so if you send a request to loach232 I should be able to add again.

Unfortunately I’ve been mostly away for the last two weeks so I doubt I’ll get anywhere near the end.

…last night my internal clock woke me up at three in the morning. I rolled over, grabbed my i-phone, logged into Tapped Out, tapped on the completed stonecutter task, started the next and last task in the current stonecutter set of tasks, then went back to sleep.

The stonecutter event is doing funny things to my brain.

I had the same thing Sunday night. My son came into the bedroom around 11:00 or so which set me off so I couldn’t get to sleep. So I got up at 12:00 to start the tasks again. Sunday was frustrating because there was 3 or 4 longer tasks and I wasn’t able to time them out right so the 4th task spilled over past midnight. But at least I got a jump on Monday.

I am going to confess that I’ve resorted to cheating. This Stonecutters promo has gotten to me as I feel like I have to be on more than I want to be. So, I found a website which has the manuscript clues solved for the rest of the month and set up that character to do the task the day before so they will finish it before I get up in the morning. As long as their thumb is clicked on the solving day, I get the credit.

Yes. I’m ashamed.

Mr. Burns: Tell me, Simpson, if an opportunity arose for taking a small short-cut, you wouldn’t be averse to taking it, would you?

Homer: Hmm, not as such.

Mr. Burns: Neither would I. If you can take advantage of a situation in some way, it’s your duty as an American to do it. Why should the race always be to the swift, or the Jumble to the quick-witted? Should they be allowed to win merely because of the gifts God gave them? Well I say, “Cheating is the gift man gives himself.”

Homer: Mr. Burns, I insist that we cheat!

Mr. Burns: Excellent!
