Probably something to do with next Sunday’s episode, which has to do with the Simpsons and Flanderses going to the Grand Canyon. I think it’s a flashback episode, so there’s a chance Maude is still alive in this one.
App store update about “Old Springfield.” Dirty and cowboys galore.
An update that looks very similar to other recent updates, I think…
I wonder why. Usually, a theme has at least a slight connection to the show; for example, the whole gambling theme stems from when Mr. Burns tried to open a casino in Springfield. However, I don’t remember any “wild west” references on the show; they even had to retcon Gummy Joe from the labor union episode.
Maybe this isn’t new, but I noticed today that my mime with the unfoldable box is no longer confined to the pier. He’s walking around the whole town like a boss now.
I’m not getting into this update. It’s soooo boring.
Argh, I’m so mad at myself! Didn’t really notice the difference between the hat jobs and the pickaxe jobs because I was sort of doing this with just a tiny bit of my attention. So I have eight thousand axes and no hats, and I’m not going to finish this phase, not even close.
You’re not missing much. The daily prizes are little piles of rocks, and the “finale” is about five seconds long. I finally have Wes Doobner’s building under construction today, but I don’t think he’s going to rock my world.
Today’s prize is 3 donuts but you have to turn in 10 sets as opposed to three.
Wes Doobner is kind of nice, he’s a skin for Sideshow Bob (spoiler alert) and there is a short taskline for him. You’ll need Bart for some of it and some of the Springfield fat guys.
I stopped turning stuff in when I noticed donuts at the end. Figured I would save up for that when I wasn’t all that interested in little piles of rocks.
Zsofia, what’s your origin ID? I’ll send you some prospectors. I’m 801Rhodes.
In my experience, it’s good to have more pickaxes than hats. I earn hats at half the rate (32 per 4-hour task, vs 64 pickaxes per 4-hour task), but it seems I’ve needed far fewer than half as many at the general store. I’ve been sending everyone except Homer for pickaxes, then sending Homer and Rich Texan for hats (RT can’t earn pickaxes). 4 hours later, I send Rich Texan for hats again then use Apu to switch everyone back to pickaxes.
Zsofia mentioned yesterday the difference between creating hats and pickaxes. I was slow on the uptake with that one too, having 18000 pickaxes and 50 hats. I was barely able to finish the Act 1 tasks because of it. It looks like with Act 2 there’s a similar game. Snake starts the craze of making revolvers. I’m going to try to balance out my hats, pickaxes and revolvers this time around.
Also, it appears that the barrel of tongues gives a 2% bonus for $45,000 cash in the store. You’re limited to one, though.
I’m done with that Disney game. It’s not terrible, but I accidentally spent 40 of the donut equivalent today because I was trying to tap something else. Gameloft won’t put in “confirm spend” buttons and while I didn’t pay for the gems, it sucks and I was trying to save up for something good.
I don’t hate this TSTO event, but it is kind of… not compelling. I’m glad it’s not a terrible grind but I want a break.
Is it me, or is the Big Bad Bandit (BBB) “missing”?
I get the BBB task, scour the town, and can’t find the BBB anywhere.
Does he pop up at random?
The first time I got that task, I found him almost immediately. The second, I didn’t find him until I had given up and several hours had passed. The past few times, I just do my routine tasks, and I eventually stumble upon him – I’m not going to waste the time hunting him down, especially when I still don’t know his significance.
With regard to the event overall, I still haven’t really gotten into it. It’s okay, but I could take it or leave it. It’s a little underwhelming being rewarded with a measure of fence or a boulder. And it seems like it’s run its course time-wise, but we’re only about halfway through.
The first time, when I clicked on the button below the Wanted poster, the game moved to where he was. After that, I had to try and find him myself, and I have also been in situations where he did not appear to be anywhere, but if I waited somewhere long enough, usually he showed up.
I think the only significance is, it’s a task with a reward - plus, if you complete it, sooner or later the task shows up again.
That explains why I found him so quickly the first time. Forgot about that.
Did one of the recent updates allow us to zoom out more or am I imagining it?
He pops up 24 hours after you last caught him. And he’s usually on a road. If I’m playing late at night, I save him for the next day just in case tomorrow’s task is to catch him. I learned that one the hard way.
Not as far as I can tell. I’m playing on iPhone 5S. Maybe it’s only on certain screen sizes?
I haven’t seen my bandit in a couple days. I have the wanted poster up in the tasks bar but doesn’t help me at all.
