Ok I don’t understand the donut mining at all
My bonus is so high that, combined with the multiplier, it’s over 34,000% (6,800% x 5). Effectively this allows me to immediately purchase donuts with in-game cash by purchasing those items which give the most experience per $. I haven’t done all the math on all items, but the rat control trucks are $150k each and, with my bonus, I currently get 5.2 million XP per purchased truck, or 15 donuts per bought truck.
So this morning I bought 200 trucks and harvested almost 3,000 donuts. Then sold the trucks, using the 3,000 donuts to buy enough statues to increase my bonus from 6,400% to 6,800%, 2% per statue.
And since I have $4.2 billion in cash, $150k per truck isn’t noticeable.
Where do the donuts come in? From going up levels?
I haven’t been able to get into the game since yesterday morning. I read that it’s down but this seems like a long time.
Yes. Every million XP gets three donuts.
I had a little difficulty but got on with a couple of tries.
Evidently it’s been down for Android phones. I don’t know about other platforms.
I just got in using an Android phone.
But it has been like a year now of multiple tries any time I want to play the game. The cannot connect to server message is constant.
@ 9,055% currently. I’ve mined close to 27,000 donuts since the above to get to this point, need another 9,960.
Push to 10,000% is complete - now at 10,000.57%. With the accelerator, this effectively multiplies everything by 505 - a brown house, 1XP originally, now gives me 505xp.
I think this game is pretty interesting in how design mistakes manifested themselves as the game aged. For example, it was an early design choice to require a rock-solid internet connection for a game which doesn’t require constant syncing - it may have made sense in the design phase, but as people kept getting booted, losing money and XP while waiting for 200, 300 characters worth of tasks to be collected… how much money did that ‘requires internet connection’ choice lose EA as people quit the game in frustration?
This game takes up 1.2+ gigs on a phone? How many people deleted it because of a lack of space? (Also, 1.2gigs… and you still require a rock-solid internet connection? WHY?)
Somebody made the decision not to add XP & $ in the tally until an animation is completed, and then made the animations sequential for every character in which XP is collected. Combine that idiocy with the design decision to have that ‘rock solid internet connection’ for a game which takes up 1.3 gigs on your phone… again, how much actual money has EA lost because frustrated players kept losing their collected XP because of a stupid design decision? Tens of millions of dollars, easy.
Same thing with tying donuts, your #1 revenue generator, to XP… and then adding items which improve that XP. Didn’t anyone see a point where “Hey, we’re setting up conditions so that players will never have to spend a penny on this game because they’re going to figure out how rig the XP multipliers we keep throwing at them, allowing them to earn stupid amounts of our premium currency… for free”?
I mean, I appreciate the 5x accelerator, EA… but didn’t y’all think to do a cost-benefit analysis on this one? I mean, a real US DOLLARS cost-benefit analysis on the question “what if we allow people to generate 5x the experience in perpetuity for a mere one-time $50 cash infusion, the equivalent of a mere 900 donuts (as sold in the store)? Is that a good idea?”
Apparently the question wasn’t really considered. Which I appreciate, but still.
At about 650% I have a lot of catching up to do.
New event today, plenty of opportunities to spend donuts.
Glad to see the background is still winter. I hate when they change it to look like spring when its still freezing out.
Thanks for heads up. I had to manually update to get it.
Miniature nuke at 2.25% for 30 donuts.
Just broke 1000% bonus. Woohoo!
Only 9000 more to catch @JohnT! D’oh!
My game is glitching bigly. I sent everyone on the ignore military service mission. Maybe I sent too many on one job but it’s never been a problem before. I click on it and get all the money and experience but it still shows everyone out on the job. Apu stays in the upper left and I can’t tap on him. If I close the app and reopen I can tap and get the money and experience again seemingly forever. I do know how to fix it.
Never mind I fixed it. Put the building they were hiding in into storage.
Yeah, I sometimes get a similar (or maybe the same) thing. On jobs where you send many many people, after you collect and resync, they’ve completed the job again. If you continue to collect and resync, you can gather a lot of resources pretty quickly. Only “fix” I’ve found is to put the building in storage and then deploy it again.
My bonus is up to 2294%. I kind of hate it because it really adds up so fast that I tap on a few things and level up. It’s great if I farm for donuts, but I don’t need them. Like when I finally cracked the game, the game stopped being as fun and having the cool stuff I want to buy.
