Now that the clocks have been changed; I realized that I have a lot of stuff to do & it’s later than I thought.
I’m such a failure at taking naps.
It usually begins when I lay myself down and think, “Oh no, I have anxiety over whether I’ll get to sleep.” Then I usually get an itch somewhere or other, and have to scratch it, and get another itch, all the while thinking, “how am I going to get to sleep?” Then I start thinking of all the other things that are bothering me in my life, and then I start thinking, “I could be doing something more useful with my life than lying down here and not napping” By then it usually is getting towards the end of the allotted nap time, and I think, “Gee, if I don’t get to sleep soon, I will have wasted more of my life not doing anything productive and not even being able to nap.”
Seems these days that my only moderately successful naps are when I fall asleep in the bus.
I do like napping, when I actually manage to doze off.
Our clocks don’t change for a few weeks yet- therefore I have loads of time, right?
Decided to try fix the Ancient sewing machine today, only to find that it appears to have got better by itself. Very odd, but not unwelcome. I think I’m gonna start making my own clothes again, as I need some new summer tops, and I’m… erm… a bit of an odd body shape, so highstreet clothes just don’t fit right, and getting specialist fit ones is soo expensive. Unfortunately good fabric is also not cheap.
Hopefully as the housemate who leaves all her stuff over the table in the workroom is moving, that’ll be useable again, so I’ll have space to set the machine up without a half hour tidying session first. She cleared out the heap today, and found a letter to me, which turned out to be an allergy testing appointment letter from last July. I wondered why it took them so long to get back to me
Set them to Zulu time and be done with it.
The conversion factors on the other hand…
Howdy Y’all! I did get the biiiiiiiiiiiiig trash can down to the road for pickup tomorrow. I suppose that’s an accomplishment.
MOOOOOOM I had some really good St. Louis style ribs at Sonny’s for dindin.
Where the hell is my mat?
:dubious:
Supper was lasagna - heated in the microwave!
Now it’s time to recline and chill.
MWAH!
Ahhh…
Just sitting down to supper (oven fried chicken, baked N.O.T., steamed cauliflower and a salad) after grocery shopping, doing laundry and taking the truck through the good car wash. I’s tahred!
I got pretty much nothing done today. Oh well. I was pretty tired, so I figured today would just sort of be a relaxing day. Well, I did get laundry done. I might practice the piano in a bit.
(Pretty mundane and pointless post.)
Busy at work, missed a good tailgate and a good game. Making ginger teriaki pork loin with lemongrass rice and broccoli.
[Monty Python]Your mother was a hamster, and your father smelt of Elderberries! now go away, or I will taunt you a second time![/Monty Python]
That, Madam, is what the MMP is all about.
Was I supposed to do something with the damn clocks last night?
Still haven’t found my nap mat.
dammit
I remember the joke (Carson maybe?) about cooking a turkey in 7 months but -----------
I looked up some info and the idea was to hit it (the food) throughout the day with enough to prevent spoiling and then when you got home hit the button for finished cooking. “Why risk a slow-cooker when your microwave can do both?” It seems as most people answered “because the crock-pot does a better job” and the models were withdrawn not long after introduction.
Ngiyabonga kakhulu!
Have you looked under the cat or maybe the bat?
It’s pretty flat ------ but you know all that.
Since its bigger than a gnat I won’t suggest that
So search the flat before you get tired and fall over
(wait for it)
Going splat.
(The previous program was brought to you by Schaefer Beer. Remember – Schaefer’s the one beer to have when you’re having more than one. I had a few.)
Yes. You should set them back one hour.
And be sure to turn off all the alarms. Tomorrow is National Silence Day; or haven’t you heard?
Jesus Christ, I am posting with Theodor Geisel.
What?
Speak up!
dammit
National Silence Day?
So which lovable lunatic is going to start us off tomorrow?
