The Spring into Spring MMP

I love the clocks that automatically update themselves. That would be the computer and the cell phone. I’m not going to bother with the stove or the microwave since both will be unplugged today anyway. I did the clock in the bedroom last night, so that leaves the TV, the clock over the TV, the clock on the mantel, and the clocks in the vehicles. And my watch. I don’t have to do anything to the one in my studio since I didn’t change it last November.

Apart from the pending excitement of installing the new microwave, I have the added thrill of cleaning the area where the stove sits! We’ll pull it out of our way while doing the over-range installation, so I’ll take advantage of that to wipe down anything that dripped between the stove and the cabinets. Plus I can sweep. Woohoo!!!

Quite a bit of snow melted yesterday, and since today is going to be sunny and much warmer, I expect more to disappear. I figure by the time the rain moves in on Tuesday, that should take care of the rest of it. And none too soon.

I’m starting to believe spring will really arrive!!

Happy Sunday!

I’ve really come to appreciate March - that one last Bam! of winter then a sudden upswing of temps, longer days , and a general lightening of the mood. Around here there usually seems to be a definitive line that breaks from winter to spring in a couple days.

Yes there is still snow on the ground, but it will be gone in 3 or 4 days max, and temps will be near 50 every day.

I have been going to work wearing snow pants every day since December (I work in the field almost every day - just got in the groove). That will end tomorrow.

…Assuming I go to work. Been feeling crappy this weekend. I think it’s kidney stones (again), but I won’t know until they come out.

Happy Sunday!

It’s a cloudy 42 degrees outside. I am liking this balmy weather.
A lot of the snow has melted

DST doesn’t bother me one way or the other. It just is.
I don’t have to change any clocks because Sah-son did it last night, only the stove and the microwave. I’ll do the car next time I go out.

Not much else going on SSDD.

Up, caffeinated, off to work in a bit. The only clock i have to manually change is the one in the truck. But i don’t have the manual for the stero, so i don’t change it.

Factory or aftermarket, make & model? Everything’s on Google.

Almost everything can be found by Google.

My dad got some rooster-shaped alarm clocks when he was in Germany. So in that case, you can actually set your cock back.

We have achieved microwave!!! In the process, I managed to slice my right index finger open and bleed a fair bit, but no matter - I can nukelate again!!!

I done good getting a GE because as I’d guessed, it used the same mounting bracket. **FCD **did have to drill a couple new holes in the bottom of the cabinet for the mounting screws, but other than that, it was a straightforward installation. Plus this new one has some nice features that the old one didn’t.

Meanwhile, the sun is out and we should see 50s today, and for the rest of the week, for that matter. Life is good!

I went to one of the BEST concerts of my life last night! It wasn’t just a concert, it was an experience! One of my favourite bands, the Sam Roberts Band from my own city, was playing. Such a great and unforgettable night of wonderful music!!

sari, I don’t know if it’s typical of the breed, but I’ve known a couple of Rottweilers who were excellent mousers. They have the added benefits of personal and home security.

I reset the alarm clock last night and will reset the microwave and coffee maker clocks shortly. I never changed the truck clock last fall, so it now shows the correct time.

Oh hell, I have to translate from the Chinese to set the aquarium light timers.
:dubious:

I had a rottie when Sah-son was little.

She was great with him.
She bit me in the ass one day though, left a bruise the size of a saucer. I was teasing her with one of the kids stuffed dogs and when I turned to walk away she nailed me.
However, my son could do no wrong. He would tease the hell out of her and she’d get that goofy grin on her face and play along.
One day my sons father yelled at him and the rottie went after him, nobody but nobody was allowed to yell at her boy.

Anyway we won’t be getting another dog until Sah-dog passes. I think a puppy might be too much for him and after dealing with the hounds from hell he gets nervous around other dogs.

I looked up some cat rescues last night, there’s not a lot to choose from. I want an adult and it has to get along with dogs. My dog won’t hurt a cat but he’s never had a close encounter with one either. I’d prefer one that is a little aloof as well. I had a demanding cat once and he drove me crazy. He wanted constant attention and slept curled around my head and I had to hold my hand up near my face so he could suck my thumb as he fell asleep. That’s more cat than I want.

I just woke up.

However, my night included a red-eye & two time zone changes plus DST change, so I have no idea if I slept a lot or a little. :o

**sari **-is there a Petco or a PetSmart near you? They have rescue groups come in and do cat adoptions many weekends and you can speak directly to the people who are fostering the cats. We got Ziva thru one of those and I think the fee was $125 - that covered her spaying and all her shots. And I got to pet her and get to know her before we brought her home.

Of course, those events are dangerous - you want to take them all home! At least I do!

We deheathenated, had N.O.L., and napped. Makes ya tahrd just thinkin’ about all that don’t it!

MOOOOOOM welcome back to the 21st century! Sorry about the sliced finger though.

Reset the clock radio in the kitchen, the one in the basement, the one in the sewing room, the two in the bedroom, the one here ------------ and decided I’m buying a dozen freaking old-style radios without clocks in the damn things. Or just let them be freaking wrong half the year - which one I don’t care. Already did both watches, the microwave and the VCR. Now on to the heirloom wind-up. And the frikkin car.

All this talk of microwave ovens has me wondering – what ever happened to the slow cook microwave ovens and why were they ever invented in the first place? Film at eleven.

It may be that designers or users expected cooking to take awhile. Perhaps the culinary arts were thought to require the various ingredients to become acquainted with each other over time. I recall a fellow worker in the break room complaining that a TV dinner must microwave for ten minutes. “TEN minutes?!?!?”

Y’all can mock me now. I’m drinking a Dr Pepper. :stuck_out_tongue:

Dr Pepper is powerful enough to kill the MMP.

Or you mentioned it during nap time.
