The Start of The MMP

Home from the store. most everything is put away.
Lunch has been eaten, and I’m logged in at irk.

Ripple is being a brat. You’d think after the park and the grocery store he would settle down.
I need to do some laundry, don’t want to.

The temps here are supposed to be something around 4 billion degrees. Same for the rest of the week. I’ve complained to management but nothing in response yet.

I’m contemplating taking Akiko for a walk before it gets too hot. I need to finish my coffee and toast, then we’ll see if thought becomes action.

Time to forage for dinner. This is going to be tough this week because I don’t want to eat out but we finally have a run of dry weather. And Bessie is looking to roam a bit. But we’ll manage somehow.

Metalmouse- yeah, they’re not incredibly common, but still a thing. There’s some groups who pick out of the way spots and genuinely disused sites where they’re not bothering anyone- there’s even some official designated places so it is possible to just move between those. But there’s also groups like these guys, who pop up for a while and set up wherever, working on the principle that it’ll take a while to get chucked off, especially if the land is publicly owned or owned by a larger organisation which will need to co-ordinate a response. Then they just go do the same thing elsewhere, often trashing everywhere they’ve stayed (like these jerks have). The pressure is to move on, not settle, 'cos frankly no-one wants the problem makers to stay. Bit of a complicated situation, really.

Anyway; plot visited, form printed but not posted (out of stamps, but I’ll pass a post office tomorrow), a little tidying done, and bees left to bee in peace.

We’ve had nice, steady showers all day - exactly the kind we needed. It’s in the low 70s, so the house is open for fresh air.

**FCD **and I had shrimp salad and assorted sides (some left over, some new.) Chillage shall now ensue.

Howdy Y’all! I laundered, finished spiffin’ da cave, had some quality cee-mint pond time, and made sup which has been et up and the kitchen all cleanded. All in all not a bad day. I was bzzy but still had some chill time. Now ‘tis rainin’. Glad to be inside and dry.

Mooooom, I hope you limber up soon.

I’m hip deep in EoM crap at irk now. I looked at my savings balance this afternoon and there was ~$2500 more than I thought I had. So I swung through the CU in person and found out why. I had forgotten that I increased my deposit per pay period almost a year ago. That means that I will finally replace the old desktop. I’m still ordering a new pigtail for the old one so’s I can use it elsewhere.

On the supper front, the pozole is improving with time.

There is a surprise birthday party thread, for an online celebration, honoring one of our Mumpers. Start planning on what to bring, and how we can impose on the birthday [del]bear[/del] boy.

Cape Cod got a tornado today. That is about as rare as something intelligent coming out of Washington DC

Now if only Washington D.C would get a tornado. :stuck_out_tongue:

I agree. Let’s get rid of them ALL and start fresh.

Should eat, not sure what sounds worth bothering with. Tired, hot, and the dry pool dive team seemed to be pooling their limited brain cells to figure out dialing phones and tormenting me. At least the flock of newbies seem to be settling in.

With all the windbags they already have who would notice?
Drat — one off.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 73 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 88 and mostly N.O.S. this afternoon. It rained a bunch overnight it seems. I know it was rainin’ when I went to bed around ten p.m. and I woke up around two this mornin’ to pee and heard rain then. This mornin’ I shall lay in provisions. VBS cranked up over to the church house last night and will go through Firday, with Firday bein’ a cookout and pool party hosted by a brave church member. The weather is supposed to be really good over the next three days so the junior hyooomans should have really nice weather for the pool party and cookout. I am avoidin’ VBS as it’s not my thing. However, I will have to go over this evenin’ to deal with trash and haulin’ the biiiiiiiiiiig trash cans all the way down to the road for pickup tomorrow. Maybe tonight I should wear my new favorite tshirt. We shall sup upon leftovers this evenin’.

I must needs go check out that thread to find out which [del]bear[/del] Mumper is bein’ given a surprise virtual party.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, bother, alas, and alack, I must purtify and don appropriate bein’ about the public attire.

Happy Hump Day Y’all!

Another bad Roxy night - she was up from about midnight-thirty till after 3. I woke at 2 and have been up ever since. Methinks it’s gonna be a long day.

Back still aching, tho it feels better if I keep moving. Unfortunately, at my desk, all that moves are my fingers, unless I have to go to the printer. My life is sooooooooo hard!

Happy Wednesday!!

Swampy, love that T-shirt.

Bladder gave me my 5am wake-up call and for some reason I didn’t go back to bed. Nappage is a definite maybe in the near future.

Need to put on some random clothes and go get the newspaper in a bit and toast some raisin bread.

All y’all take care.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Closing shift tonight.

Happy Hump Day!

Beautiful cool day outside, the sun is shining, the birds are singing, gentle breeze.

I got Ripple off to day care, we got the branch cut down that was resting on the shed, another tree cut down, one load of laundry done, ham baked, and some weeding done.
Sounds like a lot but it really wasn’t.
The tree we cut down was smaller than the branch that was laying on the shed. The only problem was that I didn’t realize there were some wires running through it. It landed on the wires, so my son cut off a piece to get it to fall, Now there is a small piece still laying across two wires. I tried to pull it down and couldn’t, but I think a good wind would blow it off. I’m hoping they are just cable or telephone wires or something. They are the thin black ones, not the thick heavy ones.

Also talked with the neighbor a bit. He will pour the concrete pad for under the trash can for me, and he has a friend who can replace the shingles on the shed. My neighbor said he would probably have some leftover shingles from another job and would do a good job of matching them to the shed. I said it’s a shed, I really don’t care. It’s not like shingles come in purple, fuschia, or yellow, any color would be okay. For all I care, the guy could just grab a bunch of leftover shingles and do a multicolored roof. He is also going to take all the stuff we cut down for his fire pit, so we don’t have to make a trip to the dump.

I have a bunch of work I want done inside the house too, but that can wait a bit longer.
I have to think about what I want done and prioritize.

The light over the kitchen sink is falling down, I have no idea why. My son tried to fix it this morning, and couldn’t. I’ll look at it later and see if I can do something with it.
Always something.

BLURFAGE Irking as usual. Tis sort of quiet today so far.

Blurf

Howdy Y’all! Provisions have been procured and stowed away. Also, I went to da Burg and renewed my car tag (well, the little sticker thingy). It occurred to me this mornin’ that I needed to get that done by Firday, so, since it was on my mind, I got it done. I like our county tag and tax office. The folks are nice and I’m always in and out of there real quick.

My parents’ dog, Miss Daisy, had an anxiety attack at 4 am. She summoned help by barking outside my door. She was adopted from an abusive situation and she’s very high strung. I love her dearly, but 4 am is very early. No coffee even!

Today I must get the oil changed on the truck. The temps will again be 1 billllyun degrees or so (98, if you must know). The mere thought of it exhausts me. My hubby and I are now starting sentences with “When the kids finish school”. Lately those sentences end with, “we’re moving somewhere cooler!”

Happy Wednesday!
