The Start of The MMP

Afternoon all. I can now comment on the 'instant key" machines that I didn’t even know existed until I lost my house keys.

KeyME (In Kroger stores among others): $17.99 for 2 keys (they made a 3rd one free). Took about 15 minutes and NONE of the keys work in my door.

Minute Key (Walmart and Loews). $6.00 for 2 keys (3rd free). Took about half the time KeyME did, and ALL three keys work, two flawlessly, one a bit sticky but it did work.

So Minute Key is my recommendation when you need a key copied.

Also got a few supplies and am now ensconced at home.

Sunny, 4am wakeup calls are not a good thing…especially when you don’t plan on them.

Sari, it sounds like you have at least one great neighbor. And yeah, it does sound like a lot of work.

Swampy, probably best you got your tag now; I imagine (like here in North Ali-bama) a lot of folks wait until the last couple days of the month to renew.

Can you take our lot as well? There’s a few MPs that seem kinda sane, but 1% ain’t enough- switching it off and resetting seems like a plan.

More tiny plants again today, but that’s it for a few weeks as I’m away at juggling event next week. All the plants of every size will have to cope without me for almost 2 weeks. I’m looking forward to it, but it seems to be involving a lot of organising and a frankly silly amount of driving, considering the size of the country. I’m driving my car from the southern tip of England (that sticky out bit bottom left) to about 60 miles from the Scottish border, borrowing Dad’s van, then driving that to the East Midlands. Then the same in reverse on the way back, with a possible detour to York to visit a friend.

This will probably take far longer than anyone who has not experienced English holiday traffic will expect. Should be worth it though, to sleep in a camper van rather than a tent for that long.

I am told by reliable sources that pilots in the Battle of Britain, returning from France, were quite eager to see that sticky out bit bottom left.

Sloppy joes for supper, with chips and slaw, plus I’m making the last of the Amish green beans for Roxy. It’s a loverly day, but warm enough that we had to close the house. Still, we had fresh air overnight, so that’s a good thing.

It’s raining here, but the windows have been open all day.

The neighbor said he’d meet me out back at 5:30 to talk about the irk I want done, he also said he was mowing the lawn today and would get the branches afterwards. Neither has been done. That is why I was hesitant to ask him, he says he will but then he doesn’t.
I think he may be one of those scattered energy people that have to do things right away or they forget and go do something else.

Irk was slow today, so I got a lot done around the house.

Howdy Y’all! Home from trash duty over to the church house. Thought I might have to use all three biiiiiiiiiiiiiig trash cans, but managed to get everything into two, so I say it’s a win. Lots of humanlets runnin’ around the Parish Hall. Maybe eighty, ninety, a hunnert, ten-thousand, kinda hard to tell with young’uns.

Supper tonight is from the good place. I am having some shrimp Mac and cheese and bread pudding. Hubs will probably get a poke chop or a fish special. The shrimp dish I requested is an appetizer but it’s enough for me. Since my precious Louie passed I have been unable to eat mass quantities of food which is not a bad thing.

I did a double dose of Ben last night and slept so good. May have to repeat tonight.
Rosie’s sig

**swampy **, guys like you who get their tags during the day and before month end make my commute easier around that time. I live on a two lane street with both the emissions testing station and a county clerk’s branch. Sometimes it’s easier to go five miles out of the way than deal with it.

Thanks for reminding me to schedule an oil change **sunny **.

Well, I stopped at Staples this afternoon. Came out $450 lighter but with a new 'puter, MS OFFICE and the cable for my monitor on the way. A geek at irk counselled me on brand and spec, will do the installation including the fancy printer that didn’t work with the old computer ) and hook me up with photoshop. I’m looking forward to it. Now to rearrange the studio to accommodate dual monitors.

Congrats red on new tech.

Supper et. About to seep with Ben shortly.

Given Brittan is left of France, wouldn’t they want to see the lesser sticky out bit at the bottom right?

Define young’uns, dear ancient Bear. 30’s? 40’s? 50’s?
Home, finally.

Thanks! I fear that the rule of three may be in play though. When I attempted to go low tech in the studio tonight, the manual die cutter bit the dust. :frowning: When I tried da Jungle on my tablet, it wouldn’t let me put it in my cart. I’ll try with the phone, but all of this squinting is getting to me.

Hot, sticky, and headachy does not make me a happy Ox. I think I’ve actually picked up some horrid summer cold.

Physical terrorism of my finger continues, My finger remains generally unimpressed. Still stiff and somewhere between sore and achy.

I finally succumbed to the cult and got an Instant Pot. Big River was still offering to send me one for $49.95 on Sunday, so I relented. So far, I’m not impressed. It did take less time than my dedicated fuzzy logic Japanese-built rice cooker, but the rice was definitely al dente.

On a much happier side, I’ve lost enough weight to qualify for a new apnea treatment.

I must have missed a memo. Why did no one tell me this week is the Dry Pool Diving Olympics?

Stopping at the nearby grocery store and obtaining chocolate chip cookies was ESSENTIAL today. (No, I was not going to bake my own. Too (beep) tired and I am not turning on the oven on a triple-digit day if I can avoid it.)

TVCTPMO was working overtiem. The on neighbor let her dog off the leash, and it charged me and Gordie. Again:mad:. And they did utility work everywhere in Raleigh, so a 20 minute drive turned into and hor. Plus the usual retail BS. Plus my one freind’s mother died at her doctor today.:frowning:

He’ll shingle your she-shed?

Oh no. :frowning:

100 in the shade here today. If my parents make one more comment about “it’s not as hot as I thought it would be” I shall disgrace myself by screaming and throwing a fit like a two year old. (I show my mom the temperature and she responds by saying there’s a breeze. Ha.)

Other than that, thanks to air conditioning, we are surviving. We tried a new sushi place and I accidentally ordered the biggest drink ever. Tropical “punch” of some kind. It was good whatever it was.

I actually adulted today and then went to work. Why I never got past here is a mystery to me. Must have been another stroke or sumptin.

Sunny, I tend to refer to my dumber callers as the dry pool dive team. The stupid (and snotty attitude) was so strong today that it seemed like I was watching the Olympics of that sport.

Zombies would starve dealing with my callers.

I’ve got an intaview on Monday  I mean, I’m having lots of intavius, as usual, but this one looks really nice.

Tonight it was so hot we didn’t open the house at all. It’s now a mere 33ºC outside with zero breeze. If my mother says “but at least it’s not a humid heat” one more time I may open a window just to push her down.

Well… directly south of here does actually land you juuust in a little sticky out bit of France, but the Battle of Britain was, as the name sorta implies, almost entirely in (well, above) Britain and the Channel, and pilots were mostly a bit too busy to pop over to France for some Duty Free booze, so I’m a bit confused as well.

Anyway, I should go purtify and get on wi cleaning the house. Looks like this bit of the country’s dodging another overly hot day- they’re talking record temperatures in other less sticky out bits.

Up, caffeianted, and sheveled. Off to work
