Oddly, odd folks on both the right and left seem to think the Proud Boys are law-enforcement. The left generally that they are local cops (and that’s why they are almost never arrested) and the right that they are Feds (presumably FBI) and a false-flag operation intended to make MAGA look bad.
I tend towards thinking that in the early/mid days of the group some local LEO likely were members, but the ones with any brains at all have at a minimum stopped attending marches.
These Springfield stories are of course useful for other MAGA morons as well, as seen here in Pennsylvania. When I noticed my co-worker had a Mastriano keychain last year, I knew to expect some nutty conversation from her.
In a CNN interview about the racist claims about Haitians, Vance says, “If I have to create stories so that the American media actually pays attention to the suffering of the American people then that’s what I’m going to do.”
Which backs up the opinion I’ve had (and read from many others), that the details of the racist statement are irrelevant. There’s no real point in saying it’s false, because that doesn’t matter. The point is to advertise how racist the people saying it are.
No one legitimately hears it and then forms a bad opinion about Haitians. The only people who believe italready hate immigrants, or Haitians, or Blacks, or whoever. Maybe they believe the specific details, or not, but that doesn’t matter, it’s just reinforcing beliefs they already have, and demonstrating the details aren’t true won’t do a thing to change that.
The response should not be “actually, they don’t eat pets” but rather, “fuck you and your fucked up racism.”

and now Vance has said he’ll continue to make up stories
Not sure about that but I agree there will be huge problems. I hope there is at least a non violent resistance to the bootheels Frump will try to stomp with.
I didn’t think Roe would get overturned, or the president (or at least certain presidents) would get rather sweeping immunity. If he gets back in power, I could envision camps for, “treasonous” citizens.

So now that that’s out there, Trump is probably going to be shouting it by the end of the week.
