The SuEPs of the MMP

As you already realized, ham is already cooked, so you’re just warming it to be tasty. If you wanted, you could have lopped off a couple of slices to make a sandwich for lunch.

I’m another fan of the low and slow club for cooking standing rib roasts. Taking a rib roast to 165 is criminal.

More than once, I’ve pondered using our domestic hot water to sous vide a roast in the sink, but it would waste a lot of water and I don’t want to overcook a rib roast that badly.

We had an earth-shattering KA-BOOOOMM around here a couple days ago. Actually, it was more of a bird-scaring BAM!! At first, we were wondering it was an explosion or an earthquake, but once I realized there were no car alarms going off, it was neither of those. Later on, we discovered the big bang was a car vs iron fence two blocks away.

No great news on the DH front. We’re in a bit of a race condition to see what happens first - approval for the new drug is granted, or the complicated planning for radiation treatment is completed. We should be doing one or the other by this time next week.

Just found out another of my high school friends died. So sad.

{{{Midget}}} so sorry for your loss. It’s a special kind of sad when a classmate dies. It does not get any easier as we all age. It’s still, “whoa! he/she is the same age as me!”

gotti I hope it’s the approval of the new drug since that seems to be the thing y’all are most hopin’ for.

'Tis dreary and rainy out and we’s sleepified. Thus we shall retire to the boudoir to watch teevee etc until sleepy time hits which won’t be long for me.

Nitey Nite Y’all!

It may not have been the storm; I just found out I have a cousin near the GA/AL border. It could have been blowing stuff up.
Back from getting the OWs RX; not covered by insurance of course. Like $400 which is more than my first two cars cost. But in her case its money well spent.

This week.

Next week I may feel otherwise.

Hugs your way kiddo. We’re still going visiting tomorrow with our friend so you indeed have our deepest sympathy.

So I am still in disbelief this happened. I irked in my office till around 2 pm when I was finished enough with EOM stuff to go to the airfield to check out the set up for my sections which are the paid seating areas. Thank God I went because the 4 sections containing 140 chairs each were arranged backwards. They all had stickers on them designating Sections, rows and seat number. We had rows A-N. Well the dumbass that set up the chairs put Row A at the back with Row N being the front row. 560 chairs we had to rearrange. They did not have another set of stickers to cover the first. Had I not gone and found this it would have been very, very bad. People thinking they had a front row seat on row A would have had a back row seat. Common sense would have told me and most folks row A would be the first row. I am still shaking my head.

Ham turned out good. I think I’ve eaten a pound of it by myself already.
I’ve got part in the freezer and part in the fridge.

I got the notice today - finally - that my refinance has been approved. According to the form it was approved week ago, but I just got the news today. They also want some more stuff, always more stuff. Some of which I don’t know how to get - like proof that I paid my 2015 taxes, which have not been paid yet because I have 2 more weeks to mail the check. I guess if I mail it tomorrow the check will clear in a few days and then I’ll have proof.

{{{Midget}}} {{{Gotti}}}

So we caught the world’s dumbest shoplifter tonight. After the officer comes in and I’m walking him into the store, she comes up behind us and follows us.:dubious: Then our loss prevention guy point her out, and the officer pulls out a stolen curling iron.
Officer: “Have anything else?
Thief: “No.”
: Officer pulls out 2 bottle of wine :
Thief: “I’m very sorry”
Officer: “Do you have any ID on you?”
Thief: " No,”
: Officer rummages around bag, and pulls out ID :
Officer: “OK ,you’re going downtown.”
Apparently she had “seizures” at the station and had to go to the hospital. Guess she’ll miss her “job interview” and “daughter’s birthday” tomorrow.

Helllooooooo Nurse!

Butters, never underestimate the power of stupidity of people in large groups.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 64 Amurrkin out and drizzly with a predicted high of 68 and mostly sunny for the day. We’re havin’ a cool down! Some big tboomers overnight and a lot of rain.

Today’s plans call for the slow cookin’ of two poke loins to take over to the church house tomorrow for first Sunday brunch. I shall also make a gallon each of sweet and unsweet tea cause, that’s what I do. Other than that, maybe some laundry. We will need sustenance of some sort for dindin. I’m inclined toward swipin’ The General’s dindin. We shall see.

ruble I grew up near the GA/AL line. Where is your cousin located?

Butters what doggio said re teh stoopid.

sari yay for house re-fi!

OK, that’s all I got. I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, well who knows. I might even go back to sleepy land.

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

It’s a dreary, overcast morning. I’ve stripped the bed. **FCD **is in the shower. I’ll go next, then we’ll head out for breakfast.

Inlaws are coming next month for a few days, so I think I’ll clean the guest room. It’s become a dumping ground and it needs some serious tidying. So that’ll be my exciting day!

Happy Saturday!!

Up, caffeinated, and sheveld. It’s drizzling right now, but it’s supposed to clear up in time for tailgating.

blurf

Well, that’s a bummer! No more free to-go cups at the cafe. So it looks like from now on, after breakfast, we’ll be stopping somewhere so **FCD **can get a fountain soda. What kills me is they charge the same as for eating in with endless refills, but the to-go cup is smaller than the cup on the table. Yeah, I know, first-world problems…

We’ve had some showers on and off this morning. Not raining at the moment, but it’s still overcast, so more drops may fall. I just emptied the dishwasher and **FCD **is napping, so I can’t attack the guest room yet. Guess I should have remade our bed after I stripped it… So instead, I’m here. Damn the luck!

Thanks, all.

I know. This guy was maybe a year older than me, and I’m only 31. Considering another school friend of mine who was about the same age died less than a year ago, it’s sad.

**Midget **- a classmate of mine (whose mom went to high school with my mom) dropped out of high school, got into drugs, and was dead before 18. It was like being gut-punched, and it never got any easier. I’m twice your age, but I’ve lost a lot of classmates at sickeningly young ages.

Mortality is cruel.

Our guest room is ready for guests. I’ve got a VCR free for anyone who wants it!! And a whole pile of floppy disks, and some CDs of such things as Office 2003. The smaller guest room is still a disaster, but FCD’s folks only need one room, so no biggie. I’ll get our bed made before sleepy-time.

The sun is peeking out but there’s still some rain on radar, so we shall see what happens. That’s all for now.

Today’s accomplishments include makin’ two gallons of tea, slow roastin’ a poke loin, three loads of laundry, and bakin’ a batch of brownies. Go Me! We went to the little bar down the road for N.O.L. We got an appetizer of stuffded 'shrooms and then decided we wanted some mozarella sticks. Then we both et hyuuuuuuuge cheese burgers with fries. I’s still stuffded and so is OYKW. Thus dindin shall be forage if’n you’re hungry.

I’ve got a hunk of poke loin in the rotisserie, but I haven’t done any laundry. No baking, either, but I pulled 'nanner bread out of the freezer - yum!

We didn’t have lunch, so we’s stahvink! Besides the poke, we’ll have sourdough bread and some sort of vegetable matter. Soon…

Refereed my two U-10 soccer games, both were competitive and up and down the field, so I am impersonating a Marvel superhero right now…I am Thor all over…

About 60F is all the higher it’s going to get today, so a nap and dinner are my major planned activities. Plan to mow the lawn tomorrow, first mow of the 2016 season, oh joy.

and that’s about it from North Ali-Bama

Supper was yum. Bed is made. Pellets are in the stove - it’s supposed to drop into the mid-30s tonight - what happened to spring?!?!?! Plus we may have very high winds overnight - wonder how much stuff will fall on the lawn?

Domesticity has taken its toll - I intend to veg the night away.

A tragedy of international proportions that would have excelerated into all out nuclear bombardment has been solved. OYKW accidentally broke the carafe on the coffee maker! Fortunately a trip to :eek:Wally*World:eek: resulted in the procurement of a replacement carafe for under ten bucks. The world may now rest easy.
