There’s a Clydesdale farm about a mile from here - maybe closer. Not associated with the beer, but I’m pretty sure he takes them places for festivals and stuff. I’m not much of a horsey person, but them critters are impressive!
Supper was sautéed shrimps, steamed broccoli, and a pasta roni side. Quick, easy, and yum! The dishwasher is washing the dishes, and my sweetie and I are chilling. Higgs is outside barking like an idiot, as she is inclined to do.
I figured out why my office mate has that nasty air freshener thing plugged in - the office next to ours has a nasty, musty odor. Our offices are in the back of the bldg, against a hill. I’m guessing damp and maybe mold. ick. Glad I’m not in the office with Tim and Billy.
Why is tomorrow only Thursday?!?!?!?!? At least it’s our payday.
butters, when I lived in Amish country, clydesdales and Percherons were the standard work horses. Up close and personal, those are some biiiiiggg critters.
I’ve seen them upclose twice. It’s amazing how much bigger they seem in person. Sure, you can give the numbers, how heavy or how tall they are, but until you stand beside a Clydesdale, you don’t understand.
The fun thing is watching some 6 year old Amish kid ride one from one place to another bareback. Seeing this 60 pound nothing directing this fur covered tank like its nothing.
Work was its basic normal form of abnormal and I had a good line; fun was had.
Twosday and yesterday were beautiful; yesterday I was finally able to go shoot a few arrows at the local range and one of the guys mentioned his wife had kicked him out of the house saying “go shoot today, they’re announcing crap for tomorrow!”
Crap not being an actual atmospheric phenomenon, this morning as I drove to work it was snowing
We’re promised 70s today and tomorrow, but rain moving in tonight, then the weekend gets cool again. rah. I need to mow the ditch on Saturday - it’s already raggedy-looking and I don’t want it to get much worse. Hope my knee can handle it. **FCD **definitely can’t.
Windows are open and I’m having PB&J for breakfast. Lunch is packed and I have about 20 minutes to kill before I have to leave for the office. I think I like having these mornings to myself. Definitely beats eating a biscuit in the car during the morning rush.
I got an email from my former coworker - the guy I was hired with. Apparently one more of the drafters is leaving next week. So they’re down from 10 to 6 in a 2-month period. The poor engineers there may have to do their own drafting! The horrors!!! [geezer mode] back when I was a design engineer, I did all of my own drafting. And I *liked *it!
Actually, I really did. CAD is very cool. I wouldn’t be as enthusiastic about pencil-and-paper drafting, even with blueprint fumes for a quick high…
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 65 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 84 and cloudy with rain/tstorms/apocalypse movin’ in tonight and all day tomorrow. After that there will be a cool down. We shall see.
Other than irk, nuttin’ big goin’ on here. Tomorrow is irk from home day so yay for that!
OK, that’s all I got. I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then, alas and alack, irk purtification must commence.
I woke up too early again, ow I want to go back to sleep but I have to irk soon and can’t.
It’s not sunny here, supposed to rain.
I got more information on the funeral, the service at the cemetery is over an hour away from the funeral home. I think I may skip that part. I’ll have to google it and see how far from here it will put me. It also means I have to drive the hated 495.
I tried to order flowers yesterday and for what ever reason my card kept declining. Or rather the florist I think was declining because I got a text from the bank saying it was approved, then another text saying it was declined. Sometimes I have trouble with that card when I use it online, so I tried another card and it declined as well. I’ve ordered flowers from this company before, so I have no idea what the problem is.
I’ll take it as a sign that I should send a donation in my aunt’s name to one of the charities listed instead.
I’ll see rosie’s bbbllluuurrrfff!!! and raise it to BLURFFFF status.
Up at 0330 for no apparent reason, doodled on my computer until it was time to go to work, and am sitting here listening to the all-day rain pound on the ceiling overhead. Plus I am in that wonderful state of “not really sick but not really well” that means I really don’t have a reason not to come to work, but I’m going to be miserable while I’m here.
I’d say it is the winter of my discontent, but it’s supposed to be in the 70’s today, so that would sound stupid…
Which for some strange reason reminds me of a lawyer we were friends with. Her goal in life was to evict a bunch of orphans and nuns from a building on Christmas Eve; but only if it was cold and wet.
Ah, a drive-by with quality AND quantity. Good to see you!
The weather yesterday was glorious sunny and warm so of course today is cold and wet. Time soon to go think about lunch and consider things about dinner.
Yoiks - Mod invasion!! I hope everyone was using a coaster!
**MetalMouse **- I woke around 0330 also. Spousal unit’s snoring kept me from nodding back off, then I got to thinking that I haven’t changed the furnace filter lately. A sleepy brain is a weird thing…
Lunch break, which I need. The boss has me on some bizarro, random tasks dealing with projects from 9 years ago. It’s giving me the chance to learn other stuff and to make all new mistakes. Some of the procedures here strike me as a bit odd, but I’m an obedient little drone - I’ll do whatever silly-ass stuff they want as long as they keep paying me.
