Emily, I’ve decided that the ukulele is the next instrument that I want to learn. How hard was it?
Yay! Month end and all of my stuff is turned in. SIL and I are looking at a road trip to East Tennessee this weekend. Taking mostly state and US routes, we’ll get to see a lot.
It depends on what you want to do with it. If you want to use it to accompany your singing, you can learn a few chords and a few simple songs, or you can work at it a bit more and learn more complex songs and/or instrumental pieces.
Of course, when singing I have the problem of having an unusually narrow and weird vocal range.
Howdy Y’all! Irk has been survived. YAY!!! The weather PTB are tellin’ us we are in for “significant” weather in a couple of hours, over night, and tomorrow. We shall see. Tomorrow is irk from home. I shall be busy with lots of EOM and quarterly reports. Rah.
Looked at cemetery location and it’s not a far as home as I thought. The trip from here to funeral home to cemetery to here makes a triangle so not as bad as I thought. However, it still means driving the hated 495.
Butters I am with you. It’s bill paying day. Aaack!
Tomorrow we leave for Yosemite for 5 days. Which is all well and good, except I haven’t really done anything to get ready for it. Great googly moogly. Must pack! Find pet sitter (done)! Pack! : runs in circles in mild panic :
And, of course, I have broken a nail. This is not a big deal normally, but it bent funny and now my finger hurts. Wahhhhh! Poor me.
Home, exhausted. **FCD **doesn’t want to eat supper, so I’ll make something for myself. No idea what, but I’ll figure it out.
Theoretically, we’re going to get rain, but it doesn’t look that way on the weather radar, so I have the sprinklers going on the lawn. I’m not impressed with the seed the guy put down - nary a sprout. So I flung some of the seed I had leftover from last year. Here’s hoping it takes root.
I got to crap calls threatening me with judicial action or some such nonsense. I didn’t even answer them, but they went to voice mail. Pain in the patoot!
And then there was this automated call from someone named “Amy” who’d keep calling my house and saying I won a cruise. (Nonsense, of course.)
One time I had a meeting with two women who were trying to help me find a job. One of them had their phone ring, and had to answer it - she wasn’t trying to be rude, she thought it might be important because it might be someone calling about helping me find a job. But no - when she answered it: “Hi, this is Amy! You won a cruise!”
So I said, “I hate Amy! She’s been bugging my family for a while now!” The lady who had just been called by Amy laughed and gave me a high-five.
The unsolicited phone calls that I get tend to be from a trucking/logistics company. I interviewed there for a position in the driver office and again for a position in inventory management and they’ve been calling me since about driving jobs. I don’t even have a CDL anymore.
Emily, I’m thinking a few chords on the uke to accompany myself singing.
A few chords shouldn’t be too hard. There’s a website (Ultimate Guitar, I think it’s called) that has the chords to a lot of songs, and you can even change the chords into another key on the website, if you want to sing the song in another key.
I shall retire to the boudoir shortly. OYKW is already there. We shall watch teevee until sleepy time as is our wont. ‘Tis rainy out with the promise of storms movin’ in in a while. A nice night for sleepification.
Home from work. We got news that sometime next month we’re being used to test a project for a different sort of home delivery. Not the cool robot type but some sort of driver system they haven’t done before bypassing the mailman. Sometimes I feel like a lab rat; others just a plain old rat.
