The Summer Solstice MMP

That was beautiful sniff

It reached 98 degrees plus the heat index this week…I will take 93

Sorry for the kitty news drae. Lovable but expensive balls of fur aren’t they.

{{{Drae and Kitties}}}

Yay for recuperatin’ mousie Nuts!

lucky that is tshirt worthy.

It’s cloudy and muggy out. I want it to rain. I have to go out in a little while to some local places. That should be enough to bring on rain especially since I don’t have an umbrella in the orifice or in Twuck.

Well I hope you don’t have an umbrella in the ORFICE! <snerk>

Gotta go be a productive citizen, boo

Jim

Thank you. I will be here all week. :smack:

I agree!

Lunch sucked.
I had priogies that were stuffed with mashed potatoes and broccoli and I didn’t thaw them enough before cooking them so they had crunchy edges.
Sah-dog likes crunchy edges, so he enjoyed my lunch.

I feel kind of queasy now.
Well they are gone out of the freezer. I’m trying to use up all the food I have in the house before I go to the store and buy more. Sah-son is out of food he likes but I think I could go for another three weeks without buying anything except chocolate.

{{{drae}}}

Hello again all. My life has been insane lately, so finding time for keeping up with the MMP just hasn’t figured in it - I hate to just drop in and out, and not respond fully to people’s stuff (I’m a bit OCD like that)!

ems, it’s 93 here as well, but it’s 8:30 at night now. It was 104 earlier, so 93 is good! I’m hoping the temperature will drop as low as 88 by 5am tomorrow, so my run isn’t too sticky! :stuck_out_tongue:

Mooommmmmm, howya doin’? Family is all good - HRH turned 6 in April, if you can believe it!

Today I passed my 4,000th post. Not bad for a guy with my join date. What can I say? I love the Game Room.

The Prof be prolific!

I’s tahrd. So tahrd I just may call it a day shortly. It did rain but amazin’ly enough, not while I was out and about. Looks like more could be on the way so there’s still hope I’ll get all wet.

dotty hard to believe HRH is six!

Not bad??? That is insane! You are averaging 49.51 posts per day!1!1!1!:eek::eek:

Big presentation is done. Where’s my extra deep glass?

Social Security sucks.

Once my son turned 18 the checks have to come in his name. I added him to the checking account as instructed, sent in a new cancelled check showing his name on the account and they took away the direct deposit.
His check is supposed to be here today and no check.
I’m glad we are not in a position of dire need but it still sucks because now it don’t know if there is a problem or it’s in the mail. SS says to wait until it is 3 days late to call, which will make it Saturday and they probably aren’t open, which will make it Monday.

On a good note, my contract has been renewed for another year so I still have a job. My friend who just started got her contract renewed as well, so happy day for both of us.

Ditto from me - how time flies!!

Here’s where we stopped today - thisand the next 3 pics. Both of the benches are put together and all of the lines are in place. (I created a separate album for the clothesline deck, so the previous links are probably all invalid. Oh well…) I’ll be doing laundry tomorrow, so I may take an action shot!

Next will be lattice around the bottom, trim atop the lattice, then I can start planting while **FCD **builds the step for the short side of the deck. We bought the stuff to fill in under the hand rails - we’ll have coated wires running horizontally. Not sure when that will happen, but it’s on the list.

I saw the car of my sister’s soul mate outside Lowe’s - zebra print steering wheel cover and seat covers.

Still trying to recover from the dilation part of my eye exam. New glasses will be $185 (ugh). Gotta love that -7.25 correction that pretty much demands high-index lenses (which do cost more) and optical labs that charge more for high-prescription lenses. (sigh)

Boo on SS sari but yay for contract renewal!

That there is the fanciest clothesline I have ever seen MOOOOOOM.

Yay for bein’ through with big presentation lieu.

Supper has been et. It was a find it in da fridge and eat it dindin. I had some leftover roast beast and a pimento cheese sammich. Class all the way!

We have tstorm warnin’s in effect until 5:30 p.m. Tonight is Evening Prayer over to the church house. However if the weather gets really ick I shall stay here at da cave. I like the sound of a good tstorm but I don’t like to be out drivin’ in one.

ETA: Yikes on the specs nettie!

Believe it or not, O Friendly Ursine, my previous prescription (what’s currently perched on my nose) was worse, at -8. The price is a pain (only $25 of that is the frames), but the nice young lady found me a special or two to help lower the cost, and I tend to keep glasses for several years. Only really occurs to me to go see the eye doctor when I start noticing that my current prescription is no longer doing the job.

You can also try one of the online places–I got my glasses from Zenni Optical and they were wicked cheap. My prescription is not nearly as bad as it was before my laser surgery (thirteen years ago–my asthigmatism is growing back), but I well remember that any glasses discount was worth a try.

Cat Update: While the vet will still not say Sirius is going to be fine, he is not certain that he has FIP (which seems to be the kind of thing they diagnose by exclusion, in that “welp, he doesn’t seem to have anything else” way) yet. He definitely has the corona virus, and we’re waiting to see how Khan’s bloodwork turns out. If Khan is not infected, we will likely have to put Sirius down to keep Khan healthy. If Khan is infected, then we’ll probably do what we can to keep both boys comfortable until their quality of life begins to diminish, and then I will do what needs to be done. It’s no longer a matter of OMG BOTH OF MY CATS ARE GOING TO DIE THIS WEEKEND, but it still roundly sucks.

And thus far, I’ve only spent $873 on this mess.

+2

I hears ya, Jnyx.

'Tis the circle of irk, fellow misanthrope. This is pretty close to how I’ve been feeling lately, but replace ‘security’ with ‘human resources’.

What an awful, yet appropriate, department name, that. Human resources. Like you’re a sack of coal someone has to figure out where to cram.

On the plus side, we got the kiddos (10 & 12) one of those molecule kits (styrofoam balls you paint and can assemble) and they love it! Stealth learning.
When else might you hear a ten YO girl say “Hey, look mama - I made methane!”

Oh, and so sorry for the kittehs, Drae. Best wishes on that front.

I’d offer hugs, but I haven’t been here in the MMP that long and don’t want to come off as some creepy 'net intruder or something. You have my sympathies, though.

A couple months ago, we had to have our beloved Riley dog put down, as he was falling apart inside. Had him 12 wonderful years - he had a good life out here in the sticks. Died in my arms, as I always promised him. :frowning:

Damn, that sucked.

Be well, and good luck.
