When Sah-son was in 5th grade I home schooled him. I found the coolest science kits on the net and we had a lot of fun. We got a bird watching book that came with little plastic binoculars, we made a motor out of magnets, all kinds of fun stuff. I think that was one of our best years.

Morning all! It is 61 degrees outside and cloudy, but there are occasional glimmers of sunshine. A vast improvement on the downpour at 6am when I got up today. I am at irk, irking, and looking forward to a nice quiet day.
Last night I went to the pub with friends, as the weather was so good we went to a small put out in the country, great night for sitting outside watching the bats. They had Ma Pardoe’s “Entire” as a guest beer so a small quantity of that was supped. Late night, early morning, tea required!

Got up early today for part 2 of the induction for the security course (hopefully the actual course will be starting monday, they’ve been trying to drum up the last few people for a while)- walked allll the way across town, handed in the one letter I didn’t have with me on tuesday, only to be told that that was all they actually needed me to do, so walked allll the way back. The guy I thought (hoped?) might fail to get on has in fact done so. I can’t really feel too bad about this.
Got back to find a letter from the gummint saying “Oh alright, we can’t really get cross about you not going to an appointment if no-one told you about it, I s’pose”, so I’m not getting benefits cut for 6 months for definite (yay!). There’s still a possibility that the die rollers will decide that the same excuse won’t work twice, even if it was true both times, so I could still get a 4 week sanction, but it’s still a bit relief.
I’m definitely not gettin the SIA card paid for- I called and checked- but I might be able to pay for it anyway, even without requesting a loan from the Parental Bank, which I am really too old to feel happy doing.
I’m trying to design a 3D version of twister for a juggling convention- a lot of contortionists show up, and it should be awesome if it works. Anyone up for testing it?
Coldest morning in a while. It is only 50 degrees F outside. Usually it is in the high fifties to low sixties. Predicted high of only 79 today, which is actually kind of high. We have only for the most part been getting low to mid seventies and even high sixties for predicted highs. This weekend is going to be hot though with highs fluctuating between 90 and 91.
Please, no. I really hate game threads which is why I avoid that forum. Start a MMP game thread if you wish, but please, not in here. Thank you.
My house is full of doggies. I had dreams about a gazillion doggies in my yard. Think there’s a connection??

My givadammer is seriously broken today.
Laundry is all sorted and first load is washing. Three of the 4 dogs are lying on my sis. FCD is still in bed. It’s an interesting morning at FairyChatEstates.
Between sun glare and a curve in the road and a millisecond of looking at the dude tailgating me, I came very close to hitting a deer this morning. Like, within two feet of hitting her. That would have been the topper on the cake of this week’s suck.
Dinner with Mom & Dad & Grandma tonight, another goldang wedding tomorrow. I would like to go back to bed, please.
