What are doing today Rosie?
just chillin’
Happy birthday Rosie!
Another day closer to Friday.
I kind of want to start a thread in the Game Room to “live-blog” the WNBA Finals, but I’m, like, ninety-nine percent sure that I’m the only person on the Dope who’s interested.

No, just typical Dumb Biker technique; I know a couple gay motorcyclists who would have done the same basic thing.

The funny thing is that he’s straight, as evidenced by a gaggle of young children and this was the first time I’ve ever seen the motorcycles out of his garage. They were buried behind so much crap that I didn’t even know he had two.
Surprised the tires had enough air in them to roll down the driveway and onto the trailer.
In other news, there’s a sewing machine thief in the region. Someone stole two of the “tolerably decent” machines from DH’s shop last night. They simply picked up a box from the shelf and made their way past the checkouts and out the door. Then they came back in for another. Just glad they didn’t try to make off with any of the good embroidery machines.
What does it mean, “WNBA”?
I managed to last until 1 today, but my throat is so sore from the talking I had to do. It’s a good thing I did come in - New Girl was working with me and she ain’t ready for me to abandon her on a morning shift. Especially a Wednesday morning when Big Boss has to hole up in his office for a couple of hours to do the payroll.
But Miss Q is going to be there tomorrow so if I have another night like I did last night I’m calling the hell out. If I lose my voice I’ll sound like Marge Simpson for days.
Been up for about an hour now (the Princess was relatively patient, but her stomach has limits (smiles)). Day off, but should look at some homework. 63 and raining right now. Accuweather projects 77 and showery.
I had cake!
Howdy Y’all! Irk has been survived. YAY! I have a sausage, N.O.T., and onion casserole (which I put together last night) bakin’ away. Peas ‘n carrots, and rolls shall accompany. Easy and tasty just like the way I like my men. Oh and so much for rain/tstorm/appocalypse. Right now the sun is shinin’. :dubious:
flytrap Wimmen’s National Basketball Association. That should have been obvious even to you.
Not reallu. That’s why his nickname is “Captain Oblivious”. ;)
I am at the arena, and there is a giant glowing ball of fire in the aky. Life is good.
Another day of nothing much. But the boss said he’d give us some stuff to do next week. And we found out that we haven’t got computer accounts yet because we didn’t complete certain training that we just today found out about.
Then the IT guys said it could be another 6 weeks. rah.
Why isn’t it Firday yet??
Oh yeah, and Happy Happy, rosie!
No floods today.
I slept most of the day. I hate that when I do that. I feel like I’ve wasted the day.
I’m sitting hear when I hear a faint beep-beep-beep, beep-beep-beep. Hey, wait, that sounds like a smoke detector. I put on some shoes & open the back door & [del]<silence>[/del]. Okay, good, the neighbor’s house isn’t on fire then.
A minute or so later, I’m going upstairs when I hear beep-beep-beep, beep-beep-beep again, but it’s louder in the front of the house. I look out the window & see the front door wide open on the neighbor’s house across the street. Put my shoes back on & walk over. Yup, making steak. I pull the smoke detector until she finishes searing it, then put it back up & come home. It looked good, wish I stayed.
I didn’t know the WNBA was still in existence; ignorance fought - & yeah, I wouldn’t be interested in that thread.
Still sick. Contemplating calling out of tomorrow’s irk in a couple of hours. Probably will.
That thumping you heard was a series of <headdesk> coming from me. I did the stoopit training and was trying to print the certificate as proof that I completed it, and something went wrong with the printer. I had to do it all over again!!! At least the second time was quick - I didn’t have to read every bloody thing again.
BORING!!!
But we had sketties for supper and it was good, so there’s that.
FCD’s CNC router came today. Luckily, tho the crate was about 400#, it was set up so you took it out bit by bit, and the main part wasn’t even 100#. The biggest hassle was maneuvering it to its table - his shop is pretty crowded…
Much chilly and rain ahead - tomorrow’s high is supposed to be 60° - yep, chilly!
Tonight was tom yum soup fro the local Thai takeout. My fortune: “Time heals all wounds. Keep your chin up.”
- between the sheets.
Did my baking; four pans of brownies (2 with walnuts and 2 fudge) are now cooling and filling the house with the smell of temptation…so far I have manfully resisted taking any samples, but I doubt that resolve will last until bedtime…
So I’m called out for tomorrow. I hate my work ethic sometimes. I’m clearly sick yet I feel compelled to show up. Everyone already told me to keep my sick to myself so that is what I’ll do.
What really irks me is that there’s a Rifftrax Live tomorrow and I’ve already bought my ticket. It’s not till late so maybe I can make it? If not I’ll catch it when they put it online. I don’t mind supporting these guys considering all the laughs they’ve given me over the years.
We’re strange like that. I still have my old racing bike. Don’t know if the Old Wench knows or not but I dig it out of where its stored and fire it over for a while every year; couple of times a year. And I kept my old 67FLH after I had my stroke and decided “never to ride again.” I was never that good at the concept of “never”. I remember ages and ages ago going to the hospital to pick up a friend who had crashed. He was still waiting for some final stitches and a cast or two and he looked like shit – so of course I said so. At that point he burst into tears and said “You should see my chopper!” and sobbed for the next 15 minutes.
Lots of folks own motorcycles; your neighbor was like me – a biker. We’re just a little odd (and there is a set-up line if I ever types one) like that.
