Up, caffeinated, off to work. Hockey tonight.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis <snerk> 69! <snerk> Amurrkin out which is the high for the day as well. Accordin’ to the weather PTB the temp will drop to 67 and ‘twill be rainy. We shall see. It did rain durin’ the night so no mowage will happen this mornin’. There go my plans for havin’ a wild time on a day off.
OK, I need more caffiene and I should feed rumbly tummy. Then, we shall see what happens. It’s a willy-nilly day!
Happy Firday Y’all!
Greg Proops called 69 “the funniest number.”
If I’m lucky, maybe today I can accomplish half the things that were on yesterday’s to-do list.
No – more like WNBA again.
I’m liking you more and more each day. Phunfest is the 10th if you have any chance to drift North a little.
blurf!
Happy Firday!
Not really happy but it could get better., right?
It’s chilly and dreary outside. A whole 51 degrees. All this rain is getting old. One of my cousins posted a weather report on FB about the hurricane and I clicked on it. Oops not a weather site, oh no, it was all about the hurricane and the End Times and how we are such a sinful nation and the world is going to end. I don’t know if it’s because the US allows gay marriage or because of something in the ME, or maybe it was about both.
My cable bill went up by $21 and nobody told me ahead of time.
Got a call from one of those asshole telemarketers this am. Threw her off though, she asked if she could speak to Miss LastName and I said which one. She got flustered and hung up.
Kind of reminded me of when my father died and somebody would call and ask if they could speak to him. I’d say only if you’re a medium.
BLURF
I drug on into irk today only because I had to do payroll. Since I am here I have done a few more end of month/ end of FY/ beginning of New Year stuff. But I am only here for a little while longer. I am going to run to the Pubic store and grab some grub for the weekend and come back to pick up Lucky Louie and home we are gonna go.
TGIF.
Forgot to tell Doooggggiiiooooo to be safe from the storm!
The pubic store sells grubs!!!
ICK!
I need to get some food, all I’ve had today is a pack of crackers.
That’s what they feed the m
hampsters.
I think the storm is going east away from land.

Had an intense clarinet practice session. The ordinary clarinet. I still need to practice other clarinets today. The bigger one and the really big one, if I have the time and lip strength for it all.
Wrapping my lips around a can of soda water right now.
The hurricane is 350 away from me and slowly moving away but our winds are steady at about 25mph. Not a good weekend for boating. Poor Bahama’s has been getting it for days. I can’t imagine the wind blowing better than 100mph for days at the time.
Home and put the groceries away. Feel like I may be coming down with the crud. No time to be sick. I have a Fall Festival to have next week and must start preparing for the Fantasy Fest Shuttle I run each year. I have four buses to get serviced. Too much to do to be sick.
Blurf!!
I went to irk just long enough to get out the morning reports then came home. I’ve taken a pain pill, napped and watched Law and Order most of the day. This afternoon will be more of the same and an order of some kind of soup from China Wok.
But no Brownies?
Been a slow day at work punctated with panic over filling out the time forms correctly given the “fiscal year” changed on 1 October’ (why they can’t just make it 31 Decemeber/1 January and be done with it baffles me).
Only 2 games of youth soccer to referee this weekend. With temperatures in the 60’s, it might even be pleasant (if I could get rid of some of the coaches and parents…)
Red you still have a toothache?
Howdy Y’all! I’ve been a wild bear on a day off. I actually did mow. It’s still <snerk> 69! <snerk> Amurrkin out and dreary, but nust a light sprinkle of rain whilst mowin’ so I got it done. Go Me! Plus, the tree guys showed up to cut down those two pesky cedar trees I never did like. Unruly, nasty things! I knew they were comin’ to do it sometime or other but thought it would be one day next week. I was mowin’ the back yahd when I heard the liltin’ buzz of chainsaws. I thought to myself, "I’m either about to be murdered or the tree guys are here. " Anywho, glad to have 'em all cut down.
rosie and flytrap I have a brisket slow cookin’ away with N.O.T. and baby carrots. I figure of all Mumpers y’all would appreciate a slow roasted brisket the most. Smells soooooooooooo good in da cave right now! In a little while Ima make some cornbread and steam some asparagus. Plus also, I made brownies! They’re from a mix. Don’t Judge!
What about the onions? A good brisket also has onions in the au jus
Today was my short day - only 8 hours. I was going to go to the gym but I forgot the the electrician was coming to install the ceiling fan in the living room (it’s finally cool enough in the attic.) Good thing I came home, too - **FCD **totally forgot what we discussed 11 years ago! But the guy’s in the attic, I’ve got the fan cleaned up and ready to be installed, and the living room is totally powerless. Luckily, we still have juice in this room.
It’s been rainy and windy all day. My umbrella turned inside out as I was going into work, but I moved it so the wind would fix it, which was good - my hands were full! I read about 260 pages of The Captains and The Kings - it’s been eons since I read it and I remember bits and pieces. Anyway, it helped pass the time.
Depending on how long the fan takes, I’m planning N.O.T.soup for supper. If not, it’ll be eat out somewhere tonight and soup tomorrow. We shall see.
**rosie **- I have to educate you about one of my major league pet peeves - it is not “the au jus.” Au jus is French for “with [its own] juice”; jus is the juice itself. Every time I see a menu saying something is served “with au jus” I want to hurt somebody. Please don’t make me want to hurt you!!! KTHXBYE!
TGIF and Happy Firday!!!
Irk was irksome. It’s cold and rainy and I love it.
I know that, it’s just always been a “family word” to say “with au jus gravy” ever since my dad saw it on a menu that way. So I got into the habit. It amuses me.
