Oh, how I was waiting for Cervaise’s reply to one of the worst attempts at self-defense I’ve ever seen. I’ve printed it up and am taking it home to the family.

First, congratulations again. Much as I’d like to have some kind of solidarity, Claudia is just not coming across as someone I’d want working with me.
No… like I said, we hate calling businesses, hospitals, etc., though I’ll certainly admit that it’s more of a problem for them than it is for us. If we could get a list of every line owned by such an organization, we’d never call them again.
We already spend as little time as possible on the phone with them, and we don’t try the numbers again for two years. Our goal is to make sales, not make calls that are guaranteed not to end in sales.

Thanks Eusabian. I did miss it the first time around. My surname is a little odd, so when I hear someone call and garble it I know it is a telemarketer. And when they ask for “Mrs.------” I answer, in my best chilly voice, “This is MS------” and listen to them stutter as I put the phone down.
My head hurts. I’ve read this whole thread, including Claudia VonL’s pathetic come-back and I was holding my head in my hands as I slogged through her post. I’ve certainly made spelling and grammar boo-boos in the past, but…Holy God’s Throbbing Prostate, Batman! I work with students who are new to this country and THEY have a far better grasp of the English language then Claudia VonL. Not to mention she seems to be avoiding Cervaise’s many well-written and well-argued points…or not getting them…most likely the latter.
Cervaise, thank you again for supplying more sig material with “Pick up a book sometime, you dumb fuck.” I may have to add that to my sig.

Re the last question: Charly is actually a decent movie. Cliff Robertson won the best-actor Oscar in the title role. It’s somewhat simplified from the book, but ain’t that always the way?
By the way, it looks like Claudia VonL hasn’t been back since her last feeble attempt at a smackdown. Can’t say I’ve missed her.

I cannot express how much it disturbs me that there are so many half-wits out there who aren’t smart enough understand the difference between hating people for who they are and despising annoying, obnoxious, self-centered and harmful behavior. People like this are in a class by themselves. This isn’t just a lack of intelligence. This is a brainless, malevolent evil. It gives me chill to realize that such people don’t see that in themselves. Not to be mean here, but Claudia gives addled cows a bad name.

I just wanted to say, I have been online in various places for 14 years now, and that is a work of art. Despite seeing uncounted flames and rants in that period, I have never seen such a thorough immolation. While the target was large and non-mobile, the way you reduced it to ashes should be studied and taught to novices as an example of what they can aspire to.
