Only two pages?
Not any more!
That’s twice I’ve set up the next page…
Hmm… not sure. We drove by it when we were headed to Ocean Shores so it’s right next to the highway… maybe 167? I wasn’t paying that much attention. :o But yeah, it ended up being a good move for him as well as S. She got the job offer from Amazon, and being in the web business, you don’t turn down a job with Amazon! T’s a long-time Target employee, but with their HQ here, there are a ton of employees and it’s really hard to move up to getting your own store. But out there, they don’t have many people with experience at Corporate, so it’s easier to advance. So a good move for both of them, even though they have no plans to be there long term. They’re both saying 4 years and then move back here. It’ll be good to have them around here again but it’s really nice having a place to visit out there right now!
KT enjoyed our trip so much that he started researching Alaska cruises out of Seattle yesterday. They’re actually pretty cheap this year, probably due to fewer people traveling. Like 7 days for around $500/person for an ocean view room. So we’re starting to talk seriously about doing that in Sept, flying to Seattle first and then going from there. We’ll see. It’d be fun, but I don’t want to get my hopes up yet!
We had grilled tuna and risotto with asparagus for dinner last night. It was good. Tonight’s going to be grilled pork chops. Probably with leftover risotto with asparagus.
Morning. work and rain today.
Summer Thermodynamics course has started as of yesterday. Should be quite easy, teacher is brilliant, clear, and also quite lax in his grading, yay. Got my final grades for the Spring semester too - A’s in Calc III and my elective course, B’s in Physics and Dynamics. Cumulative UMBC GPA so far: 3.4. I can live with that.
Have been playing with Legos recently. Tiny plastic crack. click click click Current project is a massive mobile crane with full suspension, 8-wheel steering, working 10-cylinder engine, six-foot three-section telescoping boom arm, functional outriggers, and pneumatic controls. I have a lot of Legos and a lot of free time.
Other than that, not much happening. May go make the local mall or movie theater a little wierder with NewFurryFriend. Yeah, I suck at the whole “exciting plans” thing. Unrelated realization: Since NFF is gay I can now count among my friends gays, bisexuals, lesbians, transgenders and straights, as well as blacks and Asians. All I need to do is make a hispanic friend and a group photo of us will posess the same level of formulaically-inoffensive representative diversity as a new line of Barbie toys. But with less boobs.
ETA: Why am I awake? I went to bed at 4AM last night and fell asleep a bit after that. And yet I woke up on my own at 7:30 or 8:00 and have not been able to fall back asleep. Urk… Brain hurts. Hungry. Quest Accepted: Finding Some Breakfast.
Howdy Y’all! I promise to be more communicative once new desktop arrives. That may be by the weekend. We shall see. I hate typin’ on ye olde laptop. My fat pudgy fingers are havin’ a hard time with it.
Dindin tonight shall be ham and cheese omlettes, grits and toast cause I have decreed it.
Yays, boos, hugs, noogies, trouts, chitlins, how you doin’s. Distribute as needed.
Yay on the grades, moonie! And the Lego project sounds awesome! We need pics when it’s done.
I’m sort of working today. Half-heartedly. When I get feedback on one project that I want to work on, then I do stuff. In between, not so much. Wanna go outside.
Hi! Crazy busy day!
Have read. Hugs to all.
A mega-t-boomer storm is moving into the area. I’ve got the grill set up on the front porch, so it’s under cover. I expect the sky will open about the time I toss the burgers on the grill.
**FCD **is on his way home from Balto where he had his first consult. Next Weds, he goes to Annapolis to see a neurologist. I’m guessing he’s not going to beat the storm.
Glad tomorrow is Firday. Whew, what a week! Got a new assignment today on a project that needs to be done by the end of July. The project lead sits right next to me, so I’ll always know what’s going on, theoretically…
I’m hongree!! Hope my sweetie gets here soon!
Well I feel like I wasted an afternoon. I went to the unemployment office today, sat through the spiel, filled out all the forms, and then when I got called up to talk to the lady-in-charge, none of my wages for the last two years showed up. So I get to call up the university payroll people to see if I’m even eligible for unemployment.
Muttered profanities.
Yes! Never let a thunderstorm get in the way of grilling out! It’s summer and the grill must be used at every opportunity. Burgers on the grill, oh yeah. I’m doing burgers tonight too as I have to use the meat before it goes to the Other Side of Fresh.
I’ll use a frying pan though as I have not figured out how to use the Cobb tabletop grill I got last month. The thing really rocks, I think. Apparently you can put it on on any outdoor table (on the balcony in my case) and grill for three hours on 9 briquets. It’s a small (12") grill but it looks like it should be good for my purposes.
Anyhow enjoy your burgers. I am right now hanging out with a lovely vodka and Crystal Light Lemonade drink. So refreshing and yet still kicks ass.
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Yummy burgers. Many happy tummies in the house. And the rain started just after I took them off the grill. The thunder is done, and a nice gentle shower is falling.
Ice cream later. And knitting.
FCD’s doc is suggesting a heavy course of steroids and physical therapy before even considering surgery. Fingers crossed that it’ll work.
But first, I need to dig my accordion out of the closet and make sure it still works. And also make sure I remember how to play it. Off I go…
What? Poor FCD! Are you threatenin’ him with polka music if he doesn’t get better? That’s some mean therapy!
FCM, I think non Weird Al polka is outlawed under the Geneva Convention.
I think I’m coming down with something. My throat has hurt all day and my lymph nodes feel swelly. GREAT.
Have I mentioned lately how much I despise humid weather?
Well, my accordion still works (I was a bit worried about the bellows rotting) and putting it on reminded me of my one and only accordion joke. About the all girl, topless accordion band. The music is great, but you can hardly hear it above the screams.

And on that note, I’m off to beddy-bye.
MWAH!!!
Why did I just eat garlic right before bedtime??:smack:
Vampire problem?
Megastorms here, too. I am not grilling tonight. Work went OK, pets are walked, beerverages poured, and Bertolini frozen food is cooking.
FCM, I like the joke. You should put yourself on YouTube.
Hope things improve, Spaz.
Moonie, I am offended by your lack of boobed friends!
It’s not that I lack friends with boobs. It’s that I lack people whose boobs I can get friendly with.
Yeah, brain has officially entered Critical Shutdown Mode.
